I quit on new years and drank 3 times this month
Before this I drank full 750s damn near every night
This is a good start. It sucks that I drank a lot tonight, but I don't personally know a single person that struggles like I do. I dug this hole alone and I will climb out the same way.
I am fortunate to love my wife. I am fortunate to know people who can help me along the way.
I am exceptionally fortunate to struggle with alcoholism because without it I would be less empathetic.
Anyways, I fucked up today by drinking. I won't drink tomorrow and it will be night by night after this.

2025.01.31 00:19 National-Proposal-58 What would've happened if Gi-hun went with Frontman's plan for the last night?
Instead of the now infamously stupid, undermanned and underpowered rebellion plot that Gi-hun made on the fly, what if all the X's together surprise attacked the O's like what the Frontman suggested? It could go 1 of a few different ways, in my opinion.
Not only is this idea the most logical in the sense of survival, it will give the X team a chance to go home the next day. Frontman is an excellent fighter as he's seen flat out dropping Thanos and his friend with no effort, I have no reason to believe he wouldn't be a massive help in defending the X's. There was also Special Forces member Hyun-ju to help as well. I think the X team really would have won that night and the majority would've voted to go home the next day.
Now, if Frontman was truly evil then he would slip out in the chaos and leave the X team severely weakened without him and go upstairs to watch it on his monitor. It would likely be a bloodbath for both sides without Frontman's fighting skills but they still had Hyun-ju.
What I personally think is the Frontman was almost convinced that Gi-hun was right in that poor people are worthy of being saved. Once Gi-hun said a few needed to be sacrificed for the greater good, Frontman won his bet and any humanity he was starting to see was sapped at that moment. The X team did have more women, but nobody over on the O team looked physically imposing enough to take out the combat trained people on the X side.

Howdy! I was wondering if anyone has been able to utilize the JHDD port on the Dell XPS 15 9750? Originally this laptop didn't utilize the port, it's just sitting empty on the motherboard. I'm trying to make the most of an old machine by adding a SATA SSD, but I haven't had any luck; if I plug in a drive it doesn't show up in the bios nor in disk management. The BIOS Revision is 1.20.0.

2025.01.31 00:19 Wrong-Adeptness-9682 help! case western vs northeastern (urgent)
I recently got accepted into Northeastern (1 year Oakland + 3 years Boston). Zero aid, so it'll cost $88,000 / year, however, with AP credits and 2 co-op semesters, it looks like it'll be roughly $65,000 / year. Case Western with scholarship is roughly $64,000 / year.
I'd be more than happy to go to either school, but the fact that they'll be close in price with everything considered forces me to pick between them. I don't have time to visit as I ED2ed to case western (guaranteed admision from EA) so I have to either withdraw my case western application for neu or wait to get accepted frin case western and be required to attend.
NEU pros:
- boston: great metropolitan city, lots of internship opportunities, want to live on east coast post gradution
- mandatory co-ops: easy to get paid opportunities / co-ops and lots of support for these
- good social scene (from what i've heard) with lots of popular clubs and social events
- higher minimum wage jobs around campus / in boston
NEU cons:
- $88k/year without taking into account co-op and ap credit savings
- lack of campus? not sure how it is compared to nyu / bu but i've still heard many complaints
- first year in oakland instead of boston
- oakland doesn't have mech engineering, so I'll have to take cs for a year before switching (not sure how much of an impact this'll be)
CWRU pros:
- amazing engineering building (thinkbox) for personal projects (not sure how neu facilities compare)
- easy to do double majors / minors with curriculum
- actually has a campus with 4 years guaranteed housing
- $23k scholarship brings down cost to $64k/year
CWRU cons:
- bland / lack of social life (heard mixed things, but i'd like to attend some parties)
- cleveland: midwest, not much to do, school offers more than the city, isolated
- only 25-30% of mech engineering students do co-op, which is very low compared to neu

I just started this job on Monday. It’s my first ever big-boy job with minimum wage and benefits. I’m supposed to be doing social media for a business with a receptionist role as a secondary job. It has been not great since the beginning, and I gave it a chance since I know things grow on you.
It still hasn’t been long, but small things keep piling up as to why I dislike this job. For starters, there is zero direction as to what I’m actually supposed to be doing throughout the day. There is no agenda, and my boss doesn’t tell me squat. Secondly, they keep giving me little jobs as the days go past- jobs that were not in the original description of what I signed up for. Third, I get scolded for not doing things and passive aggressive comments when I have not been taught or told I even need to do them. Fourth, I found out sitting for 8 hours a day straight is incredibly hard for me. Finally, I literally almost got fired today because I didn’t say hi to somebody. I didn’t even know they said hi to me.
I have a successful YouTube channel and I model as a hobby, so I don’t NEED the job right now. I’m also especially biased since I make the same amount of money at this job in a quarter of the time worked on YouTube. I’m moreso working for the pension, benefits and extra cash, but I feel like a huge wimp backing out after a week. However, it makes me understand why the past two content managers backed out after just a year of working for them.
Do you guys think this is a good idea? I probably won’t find another job for a long while. It’s a miracle I even found this one, but it makes me feel like garbage. I’d rather not work having to guess about things.

I am playing through Emerald Legacy with my 6 year old. We just got to the Team Aqua encounter in the museum. Thanks to the improvements in the dialogue my son started immediately asking all the right questions.
"oh I see why they are doing things. Are they really bad guys?" "If they are just trying to help people, maybe we shouldn't fight them?"
From an incoherent story to a something that is picked up by a 6 year old. Great changes.
That being said, my son's team he has chosen has been:
Combuskin, Dustox, Spoink, Wingull, Whismur, Shroomish, Zubat.
I have a feeling Watson is going to be tough for him.
