2025.01.31 00:49 Mammoth_Dog4693 Chimney and flue advice
A couple questions:
- How much of an issue are the cracks in the crown? They look fairly minor to me, and I am thinking of using something like this https://a.co/d/3QgaCaS to repair
- I have 2 fireplaces, but there are 3 flues. My guess is that the 3rd was for a previous furnace, but I have not been able to find where it used to terminate. I plan on capping the 2 active fireplace flues with a lock top damper, but not sure what to do about the 3rd. Should I just cover it also? Fill it in?

2025.01.31 00:49 Dependent-Impact1312 GPU crashing monitor
As the title says I own a MSI 3060ti which was working perfect for about 1.5 years then all of a sudden any time I’d play a game my monitor would turn black and receive the no signal warning. My PC would stay on and I’d have to hold the power to reboot or I’d be stuck on the black screen.
I’ve seen many posts over Reddit regarding this issue and seems to be many people with this issue and the 30 series cards, now I ad tried everything these post had advised from:
Buying a new PSU (750 to 850w) DDU drivers offline and fresh install Tried different monitors Tried different DP and HDMI cables Plugged the PC into wall sockets Swapped extension leads Turned off XMP Turned off PBO Made the memory page file size larger Alter TdrDelay and TdrDdiDelay to 10 then 60 Tried new RAM Updated BIOS Updates all other drivers Ran RAM and GPU tests (no issues found) Fresh install of windows Checked for overheating Swapped peripherals and unplugged USBs
At this point I was sure it had to be my GPU, so I put my card in my friends PC and he began to experience crashes, I then tried his GPU in my PC and it work fine. But I’m broke and stubborn so needed this card to last until I could get another one.
So for all those who have a similar issue and none of the above have worked. What I have now done and seems to be working for the time being is undervolting the GPU and capping games at 60fps on one monitor, when I moved to 144fps the crashes began again (this is 1080p). Hopefully this can help someone else experiencing this issue.

So I recently bought a pair of panda Corycats and one of them was often in shock. Recently his stomach began almost vacuuming inwards and it was concave on the outside of his body. He just died today and his stomach was yellow, not sure what this is caused by but there was sufficient food for him to eat, I often saw him eating my snail eggs but maybe this was a relapse of shock? I feel like that’s u likely because he’d been in this rank for about a week now and previously has been doing well.

Finally got a gpu worthy for my build. Following up a previous post where I refreshed the system with a 9800X3D and gigabyte x870e aorus elite wifi7. VERY happy with the gpu performance. Went from a 2080S that held 65fps in space marine 2, to over 150 with this card
If you’re on the fence, get one. It is worth it.

2025.01.31 00:49 K9ine_418 Microcenter sold my 5080 Vanguard Launch Edition to someone else
After 13 hours in 24-degree weather, I got my voucher and at the counter, I was able to reserve the MSI 5080 Vanguard Launch Edition, only one of the 2 the whole store had. By the time I finish shopping for my new build and turn my voucher in at the cashier, no one can find my GPU. Someone sold the wrong person my graphics card. At the very least I would have gotten an MSI card, something desirable at least. The only thing they had left was a Zotac card.
Not trying to bring down the Microcenter empolyees, they were very kind and helpful the entire time. Just thought I would post about how my launch day went lol.

I have just completed a Grad Dip in data analytics at a reputable Australian University and I am trying to decide if there is any merit to going for the full masters degree in terms of job prospects.
For context, I already work in corporate in a team lead role not related to the data space. I love working with data and everything that pertains to it, but I have become increasingly distraught by how saturated the market is and the easy at which AI will penetrate this space.
My understanding is that experience is valued most when it comes to most corporate roles and especially analytics. With this being said, should I finish up my study with the Grad Dip or are there good reasons I should complete a full masters?
Any thoughts and ideas would be appreciated!
