Looking at booking a family trip in Sept-Oct this year. Fly MEL-DXB-FCO, train to London, fly LHR-SIN-MEL. 2 adults, a 2yo and an infant. All economy flights, third party booking websites are approx $7k-$10k depending on flight times, stopovers etc. All the flights we want are EK or QF flights so direct to avoid additional length due to travelling with small children. I thought I’d try to book direct with qantas to see if it were cheaper and easier as they would get the full amount and not have to pay a percentage to a third party but after 1.5hrs speaking to a couple of incompetent operators I was quoted a little over $50k. Is there something I’ve done wrong or is there a way I can speak to a reasonable person that can see sense rather than the robots reading off a script saying that is their price and there is nothing they can do about it. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

It may sound crazy but has anyone taken the management and leadership concentration off their plan and just got the regular bachelors in businesses administration. I know I’m at the very end in my degree and just want to finish strong but I’m already deeply burnt out. Working, doing this schoolwork, kids. The school work is sooo long and requires a lot of work. It’s taking me longer than expected to complete everything looks like I’m pretty much done with my degree if I took off the concentration. 7 more classes if I keep it. Is it possible to take off the concentration. Wonder if it’s worth it? Also I’m paying everything myself with no financial aid so I don’t want to pay for another term.

Three days ago my account was restricted and I had no idea why. I immediately called their support team to figure out what was going on and received zero information or any steps on how to resolve. I sent multiple emails advising I needed access to my funds and wanted to get an update on when I would hear back from their “security” team. They continually told me they had no information to give. I got fed up today and called saying I would pursue legal action if they did not remove the incorrect restriction. The agent was actually helpful this time, she put me on hold and said she was contacting an agent in the security department directly so that agent could confirm the restriction could be removed. I was on the phone for about 20 minutes. They had me update my password then they lifted the restriction. I closed my account today. The support was horrible and I had no money for 3 days.

Hi. So I met this super cute girl in one of my graduate classes. One day I introduced myself and we started talking and getting along really well. We would always talk after class and we'd walk together to the parking garage, which was a good 10-15 min walk. Eventually, I asked her for her number and she gave it to me. Not long after that I asked her out to lunch and she said no bc she had finals to study for (which is a valid excuse bc it was like a few days before finals and we did have a bunch of assignments to do before then) but she said that she'd be down to go after the chaos of finals settles down.
I say all this bc I think I really like her but l'm not sure if she feels the same way. I'll text her, and she'll take days, weeks, or almost a month to respond at times (usually she texts with something like "omg I'm so sorry I just saw this" or "sorry for my hiatus". I get that it happens every now and then (I'm guilty of it myself with some people) but for it to happen so often is kinda weird to me. Especially because ik us gen-zers are chronically on our phones so how do you miss so many texts?
I feel like these are signs that she's not into me, but then last week she asked if I wanted to get lunch. I said yes and we agreed that we'd meet today at 12. A few hours before then she texts me saying she won't be able to make it bc she's not feeling well.
Are these all coincidences or am I overthinking it?

2025.01.31 01:20 CardFrog Any reason not to take Barrel early as Vanessa? Also, suggestion to split up Vanessa's shield and poison spam.
Barrel with almost any random assortment of non-weapon items, even all at bronze, is basically guaranteed to get you to 5 wins "all by itself", especially if paired with Life Preserver. Just get a board with these and then you can spam exp events for several days with no care in the world. Basically no weapon builds this early can ever keep up with you, you hard counter burn builds and Life Preserver with even just a mediocre healing item is enough to stall out and win in the sandstorm against early poison builds.
Not to mention how easily it transitions into arguably the most powerful Vanessa build right now, poison + shield spam. And the worst part about that is that the best counter to shield spam IS poison spam, so you constantly get mirror matches that are utterly boring. It's like the game is built around a rock, papper, scissor system, but you created a rock-scissor with the only common "weakness" being that it stalemates with itself.
Personally I would like to see Vanessa shield and poison synergies split into different tags. For the sake of argument, let's say tools, but I could see a synergy around slow or vehicles etc as a possibility. Rework Barrel so it only triggers off of tools and rework Turtle Shell and maybe even Pearl so that they're no longer aquatic and make them fall in line with this tool/whatever synergy instead.
This way, you can't have your cake and eat it too. If you want to do both poison and shield spam, you'll have to make some sacrifices, which every other build has to.
Now me saying this doesn't mean there aren't other build that also needs adjustment. That's not what I'm saying. But right now, I'm talking about this one and how I think it could be made better and more interesting and how that would benefit the health of the metagame. That's it.

Passed my exam on the first try. I studied full time for a month using PassPerfect. I took 18 practice exams, and my average score was in the mid-70s, with failing 2 practice exams and my highest was an 85.
PassPerfect is an inferior study platform to Kaplan. I used Kaplan for the SIE and the questions were more clearly worded.
I found YouTube videos from a certain 'channel very reputable and respectable specializing in the series 7 exam' very helpful, especially the video about municipal bonds, yields. I would keep in mind whenever you are watching an older video, that settlement almost always is T+1. The law changed fairly recently and the old videos don’t reflect that.
I had a lot of questions on my exam about conceptual-related topics for municipal bonds ~25, ~25 option questions, and about ~5 suitability questions (ie. which of the following would be most or least suitable). I did have a few questions about regulations, I had questions about disclosure to customers, and also document questions. 'The Series 7man' is right I only had about 3 margin questions with NO SMA questions.
Municipal bonds and advanced options strategies in and out!!! I had a lot of questions about them, with most of my math questions being about advanced options strategies (ie. straddles, spreads) and also profit loss on covered short positions. Profit/loss, breakeven.
Read every question very carefully because they DEFINITELY try to trick you by giving you unnecessary information in the question. Try to shorten every question into the simplest terms in your head.
