2025.01.31 01:27 johnnymacaroni2 How do you manage to not post about 'big things'?
Right now I'm a few weeks off Instagram and it feels great, I had already done it in the past, I reached like 3-4 months without it.
I think it being without it made me more aware, confident and authentic overall. I have a lot of free time, I went back to reading, writing and studying with the time I saved from dumb scrolling.
I feel like I beat the urge to post ordinary things about my life, I don't want to share my everyday life with people that I mainly don't even know. But my problem to quit it for good is the 'big things' that happen in my life. For me that would be a concert of a very famous artist or a trip (mainly that).
I'll write about the trip thing here. I'm old enough that I did trips in the past, before IG existed and it was normal, there was nowhere to post pics and videos. But rn I feel like I can't beat the urge to post whenever I'm on a trip and honestly I can list some good things that can come out of it.
- I may receive a tip or suggestion from someone that viewed my story about the place I'm visiting;
- I might get some replies of people that I care enough to show them and have a little chat about my adventure with them, but they're not my top5 people I'd send pics on Whatsapp regardless, for example;
- I have long distance friends/acquaintances and who know if they see my post we can meet somewhere during my trip;
What's your relantionship with posting these big things? Mainly about trips? If you've beaten that urge, what helped you?

I need to briefly vent because of the absolute insanity at my workplace. We hired a contractor in India to handle a lot of our specific needs for VR applications. When I tell you that we spend twice as long fixing what they do instead of just making it ourselves, I am not even joking. They make errors and design things in ways that I could have never imagined. Junior-level developers could do this work as an intern. The upper management only sees that they are completing tasks, but nothing about the quality of the work they are doing. They had to hire a subcontractor to help handle the workload we’ve given them. I really wish I was at the level where I could hear these conversations happening between people who haven’t directly contributed to anything the company has done in years. Has anyone else had similar situations?

I'm making sure of something here. According to [FS200 manual page 19-21](https://gdlp01.c-wss.com/gds/7/0300001917/01/fs20-21-22-200-nim-en.pdf) it charges from the DC IN when turned off. Does this mean when its turned on that it runs from battery or DC IN? The manual does not explicitly say; just that it has to be turned off to charge.
So, which of the following is correct, in regards to how this series of devices handle power from the DC IN jack.
A : You can record and take pictures, without a battery in the battery bay, while its pluged in through DC. B : It can function while pluged in, but only if it has a battery. C : It can only record and take pictures on battery. The DC jack is only or charging.

I applied to 12 PhD linguistics programs and got response only from 3 schools so far.
Some of them had their deadline by Dec. 1 or mid Dec. Others had theirs by early Jan or mid Jan.
I got one reject, had one interview, and another interview coming next week.

 | At the time when I picked up the Ubaldo, it felt like I just got the holy grail. He was fresh off the only Rockies no hitter ever and playing like an absolute stud. I bought 4 hobby boxes of Triple Threads literally searching for this card (or any Ubaldo).... Sadly, I was unsuccessful. Fast forward two months later and the owner says, "remember when you were ripping Triple Threads? Well we had someone in here rip a few boxes of TT and he hit the Ubaldo". Of course I was immediately reminded of the pain and said "Dang man, lucky dog!". Little did I know he was a Cubs fan and immediately traded it back in for more boxes lol. After lots of chit chat he offered it up to me. I believe it was $70 or so after tax. Love this card! The Walker is not as fun of a story. I am obsessed with collecting Rockies and especially Walker.
