Im a first time chicken owner, looking into getting a flock of 5-6 hens for eggs. My question is about the chickens coop and run. I cant free range where im at because of predators. I can build a basic coop that’s stationary but my question is would having a coop in one place not cause the soil in the run to be a muddy and messy?
This is when I started thinking of mobile chicken tractor but im worried that even if i move the coop around every other day it will wreck my grass in back yard (.6 acres).
Any help or tips?

Question for this group. I'm an experienced mechanic with over 30 years of experience working in and around bikes. When installing the hydraulic hose into the steerer tube, I taped the hydraulic hose to the steerer tube with electircal tape just above the hole as I saw in the manual. I assume this is to prevent the hydraulic hose from hitting the inside of the head tube? Now when starting to measure for the brake hose length and try to leave some extra length to remove the stem for adjustments, the tape is preventing the hose from sliding in and out of the steerer tube to allow any extra length for this little extra adjustment. Once you other mechanics assembled the fork into the head tube, did you remove the tape to allow this little extra length of hose for this extra flexibility for adjustment?

2025.01.31 02:20 jimmyjamcake How easy is it to install a humidistat myself?
Long story short, while i was away for work, my Dad hired someone to install a humidifier in my home.
I had the humidifier and humidistat (DV6062A1001)), all he had to do was install these. the HVAC tech took it upon himself to not install the humidistat that came with the unit and instead installed some basic unit (GF-MHX3). My sensors are telling me humidity is fairly low in my home which I'm not very happy about, despite cranking it.
I'm looking for advice on how easy it would be to install the humidistat that came with my humidifer as it seems to be more advanced

You might have seen me posting multiple times last couple of days/months. I understand it can be annoying. I might have felt the same but it has been hard. So, here is me venting and apologizing for the same. This is my second cycle. Last year, I was rejected from all schools that I had applied to. I know phd programs are difficult to get in, humanities lack funding, have a small niche and even a smaller intake.
I made my profile be better for this intake, getting the near perfect GPA, presenting at conferences, publishing research papers, putting in research hours, even working as a research assistant. I did everything, so as I sit here waiting, I feel hopeless.
I have checked gradcafe and people in the same course, in the same program have received their acceptance. So, I am coming to terms with the idea that I will be rejected. Academia has been kind to me or not.
But this community has. I wanted to thank you. I will be going on a full meltdown mode soon. I am tired. Months/ Years of trying to be the ideal candidate. I was clearly not. Maybe tomorrow I will feel better. But today, I can’t. I will not. I will mope. But I wish everyone the best. I really do hope you get in to your dream program. Those who have not been accepted, I wish you luck. The future will be bright. One day it will be. Maybe not today. But soon.
