2025.01.31 02:33 Mattekat Looking For Lattafa recs/reviews and where to buy in Canada?
I love leathery, spicy scents, I like most gourmands if they aren't crazy sweet and I like fruity or citrus scents. I hate strong florals or overly woody scents and they can set off my allergies. I'm a woman, but I often tend towards more unisex or masculine fragrances.
First off I'm wondering where the best place to order lattafa fragrances from in Canada would be.
As for the fragrances the ones I'm looking at so far are Asad bourbon, Ana abiyedh leather and the Alhambra bright peach. If anyone has these and could give me their thoughts that would be lovely. I'm mostly worried the Ana abiyedh leather will be too floral for me, or the the other two might be way too sweet. The reviews I've seen are mixed.
If there are any others you think I should try let me know too, or just let me know what your favourites from the brand are!

I'm hoping for a little advice as I'm trying to get back in the game after not using my radios much the last few years. Is there a good way for me to figure out which of the plethora of repeaters in my state are actually functioning and worth programming into my radios? RepeaterBook gave me a list of nearly 500 in the bands I am interested in (6m 2m 1.25m and 70cm). By cutting out the DStar and other digital mode ones, I narrowed it down to around 300. That's still too much! I've combed the websites of all the ham clubs in the state, assuming (for better or worse) that they would keep up-to-date lists of known working and accessible repeaters. Which has given me a list of 30-50 or so across the state. Living in Western WA, there are 5 repeaters that are my go-to, and maybe another dozen or so that I have had luck with. I realize that if I have a couple dozen "known good" repeaters, I don't really need to have a hundred programmed in, but I would like to anyway just for purposes of being able to scan for activity, along with having them available if something happens and my "main" repeaters go down. I suppose I could just drive around with all of them programmed in and see what I can hit (in fact that might be fun!), but I was wondering if my fellow hams have a good "hack" that is less tedious than sitting at my computer with a glass of scotch and typing in call signs from RepeaterBook into Google to see if this repeater is legit or just some dude with a box on the roof of his barn that doesn't really do anyone any good. 73s!

I’m writing this hoping someone has experienced what I have or a doctor has seen this before and could maybe help out.
I have been experiencing the feeling I don’t have enough oxygen and always need to sigh/yawn, and haven’t nasal breathed in months. It started November, when I was super stressed with a practical I had for graduate school. I then went on winter break after with nothing that would cause me stress but I still had it. Went to the doctor after heavy perfume in a car set me off and I couldn’t breathe, had lightheadedness and tingling in extremities. They gave me a steroid inhaler and albuterol that does nothing. I have a history of exercise-induced asthma but I’m not really wheezing (inhaler doesn’t help anyways). It’s weird that it doesn’t affect my sleeping either; I have no problems waking up at night or anything like that, and I don’t snore so I don’t think it’s sleep apnea.
I have vaped intermittently the past on and off but never got any symptoms. It didn’t subside when I stopped vaping for months, and my O2 and heart is normal. Chest x ray came back perfect,too.
I definitely could have some impurities in my lungs but I just don’t think I can write it off that way when I’ve been fine in the past. I also am not an anxious person, so I’m not sure it’s anxiety (it’s also a chronic condition at this point)
If anyone has had a similar experience, please share. Going to get a stress test soon and pulmonologist appt but I’m not hopeful they will find what’s wrong. It’s been really affecting my academic career

I've run into a new situation that I am not sure how best to coach my mid-level employee. We work in a community services organization in our government affairs office, so often need to work with high level government employees. Our main issue area has us interacting with the chief players in our large city's mayor's office. I know, and generally get along well, with these staff. Our organization has good interactions with the staff and the mayor directly. My employee specializes with one of the main city hall staff outside of work.
My employee is in their first government affairs role, but had other experience. He generally handles himself and represents our organization well. I've noticed that he has occasionally been a little condescending in his tone with me if he thinks I'm not taking something he cares about seriously enough. We have a good enough relationship that when I ask him directly what the concern is and point out that his tone/word choice implied I didn't care, he almost always clarifies his concern and we can move on. It doesn't happen enough that I thought it was a serious concern.
In the last 24 hours there was a rather large blow-up with my employee and two members of the Mayor's staff, including the one he socializes with outside of work. I was on the initial call with the three of them where they were announcing a new change to our program that would impact some of our partners. My take was that it wasn't ideal but wasn't too worried about it. My employee, who works with those partners most directly was definitely more concerned and expressed what he thought would be problematic about it. He was professional and fact based, but there was just enough disapproval that it was obvious to me he was frustrated. The Mayor's staff also seemed frustrated with him and made some pointed comments back to him. I attempted to clarify what the specific expectations of our organization was with regards to this situation and to assure them we could figure out a path for everyone. The call ended with no real resolution or clarity on next steps.
Last night the more senior staffer called me to talk about it directly. She expressed how their staff were often frustrated with having conversations with my employee and that they felt like it often wasn't productive. I asked for specific examples and she provided that he often states things passively rather than directly stating the problem and he often makes "condescending jabs" which annoy the staff. I asked how impaired this relationship is at this point and she didn't think we needed to have a meeting with them to repair the relationship and they will continue to work with him. They are also incredibly stressed with everything else going on right now and this is not worth their time, which is totally understandable.
So, I am trying to figure out specifically how to coach someone on this particular issue. He is normally a very conscientious person. I have noticed this issue with him myself and was able to call attention to him in the moment. But it is clearly going on with others. I don't know how to manage for this "personality tick" when stressed. I'm afraid in trying to talk to him about it directly today I may have underplayed it because I didn't want to say to him directly that he has offended people, including his friend.
I would be willing to be more direct if I could also offer something more concrete that he can do to get ahead of this tendency before it happens.
Any suggestions and advice for me would be appreciated. I want to support him and make sure this one thing doesn't undermine his working relationships.

I have a permanent retainer that may be a little loose but is still glued on. Sometimes I subconsciously push my tongue on my bottom teeth and they click. I am hoping to expose a few services to the internet for use by friends and family, but am unclear on how to properly set up authentication via Authentik for those services. I currently use Nginx Proxy Manager for connecting most of my services, so the best option that I've come up with is something like the following diagram.
