I’m so new that i joined a server not knowing that you can’t just leave. I’ve now been sitting for almost two hours trying to find the server that I was in. I’m making a list of the ones I’ve tried and every time I get the error message I have to restart the game to get the server browser menu to show anything. It seems to join a new server I have to die in the old server??? I’m so confused about why I can’t just leave by a simple click and why is the current server you are in not clearly marked. How many people have spent almost $60 and just gave up? How can I prevent this if I ever make it back in ?

I taught HS English classes for 14 years including remedial reading, AP, and Dual Enrollment. Most of this was at a fancy pants college prep school…. Think: New England boarding schools but not boarding.
I do tutoring for all sorts of test prep and college essays and have been doing that for a decade. I’m not trying to get any more kids to work with. I am trying to establish that I’ve done this for a while and I have seen what works for all types of students!!
And guess what….???
It’s honestly not that complicated. People just don’t want to do it. You need to READ. Like actual paper books in your hand READ and you need to do it ALOT. This applies to every single kid who posts on here (unless you’re just bouncing around between 35s and 36s, then it’s just luck).
If you’re getting 32s….READ.
If you’re getting 25s….. READ.
If you’re getting 18s….. READ AND READ LIKE TEN TIMES MORE THAN YOU EVER HAVE IN YOUR LIFE.
I’m being slightly overdramatic but there is no shortcut or substitute for poor reading skills. Even if you struggle with learning disabilities, practicing reading continuously at an appropriate level for a significant amount of time will do wonders for you, I promise.
The trick is that you need to read nonfiction books that are challenging but manageable. If you’re an 18s kid, this might be Elie Wiesel’s Night. If you’re mid 20s, you need like Krackuer’s Into the Wild. If you’re upper 20s, you need Dave Cullen’s Columbine, Erik Larsen books, etc. Throw some of those titles into ChatGPT and ask it for similar style books but on topics you’re interested in.
You should look for books where you don’t know what ~1 word is on every two pages. Too many unknown words means you won’t grow. It’s like if you run an 8 min mile and you want to run a 730 min mile….. you train at 7 min mile pace, in shorter bursts. If you’re training at 6 min mile pace, not only are you going to hate life and your legs are going to fall off but it’s not going to do you any good bc you just simply aren’t ready for that pace yet.
When you encounter a word you don’t know, guess what…….you need to LOOK IT UP lol. Write the definition on the margin really tiny. Reread the paragraph (yes, probably paragraph not just the sentence). Make sure you get it. Also, try context clues to try and figure it out first, but whatever you do, don’t just wing it. WORST thing to do is just skip the unknown word. Not gonna make you a faster runner if you just skip all your training runs when you don’t feel like it.
I have worked with kids who by simply READING and then learning the English grammar rules have increased their composite score significantly. Like double digits. But there are no shortcuts for reading comprehension.
And again, just a reminder, you need actual on hand paper books that you flip pages with your fingers to read. No devices. (It’s really not the device so much as it is the distractions and lack of being able to circle unknown words or write out their definitions).
One final example if you’re still reading….. when I taught remedial reading classes, I often explained it like this….
Imagine you’re an athlete (but this works with musician or artist as well!). Imagine you play football, or violin, or paint and you want to get better. You could go lift weights, do some track workouts, practice scales, study color theory…. These things would help. But they only help if you are actually PRACTICING THE THING YOU WANT TO GET BETTER AT. You have to play football, practice playing entire pieces over and over, and paint 99 bad paintings before you do it ‘right’
Do yourself a huge favor, and save your parents a lot of money, and just start reading.

Doing university for a b.tech CSE degree, currently in 3rd year, 2nd sem, so total, 6 sems.
University is pushing people to either choose higher studies or placements, and with my knowledge / gpa, placements don't look very bright as of now.
I'm looking for University's abroad, preferably in UK&Europe or even USA (Have european citizenship and PR in USA, so visa isn't an issue)
The only issue is my low CGPA which is 6.2 (Trying to improve this sem), so wondering which universities could accept me with this.. and if anyone is having any advice on what to do, please tell.

I'm not sure what to do in this situation because I don't know much about computers, but basically every time I run any application (other than chrome or settings) either the app itself or my whole PC crashes. I've had it for almost a month and everything has been running smoothly until now. My cousin who knows more than I do helped me build it and deals with basically any issue I have. As far as I know, there is no malware, it's not overheating, everything is up to date (AMD app says so), and I have enough ram, so there shouldn't be any problems. My motherboard status light is off so I assume its not a part issue. But here are some of my parts that seem to be the most relevant anyway:
- AMD Ryzen 5 7600x CPU
- XFX Speedster MERC310 AMD Radeon RX 7900XT GPU
- Corsair Vengeance 32GB RAM (I have 4)
- Gigabyte X870 Aorus Elite MB
- OS build number: 26100.2894
To give more context to what led up to this, my cousin came over to install 2 of the 4 RAM I have, that I left out of the initial build. After that we installed the new Hello Kitty Island Adventure, and also tried messing with my Sims 4 Mods folder to stop making it upload to OneDrive (didn't work). After we gave up on that I was messing around with my wallpaper with Wallpaper Engine, and that when the crashes started and I got the blue screen of death. When we would restart the PC Steam would pop up with a message about something to do with the crash (forgot exactly what it would say, sorry I don't have a screenshot). So then he had to leave, and I tried to manage it myself. I uninstalled Wallpaper Engine and Steam, and then attempted to reinstall Steam just for the PC to crash after only a minute or two. I tried to waste time until I could call my cousin by going on Fortnite, but after maybe 3 minutes Fortnite crashed. I tried two more times and it kept crashing quicker and quicker. The weird thing is it didn't crash the whole PC like Steam did, just the app itself.
Sorry for the wordiness, just trying to be as clear as possible.

Просто я сижу и наблюдаю за этим трешем и у меня реально уныние. Трамп занимается какой-то херней. Обнимашки с бигтех миллиардерами, дрочка на панамский канал, дрочка на мексиканский залив, дрочка на Гренландию, остановка международной помощи USAID (а там в том числе помощь Украине была).
А каких-либо продуктивных действий против путина или например против Китая-нету.
Буду рад ошибиться, но пока что у меня мрачняк.

I feel like my hair isn’t growing at all, but then I look at my progress photos and see that it has in fact grown!
My ends were looking questionable so I started oiling them at night (I use argan oil) and began consistently putting my hair in a protective style at night. Still had to trim a bit earlier this month, but overall I think they have improved. Heading on towards waist length - hope to be there in a few months.
I’m 56 and this is the longest my hair has been in 45 years!
