First of all, eff Trump and MAGAs. But why are our responses always so... reactionary, even though they're not done in the conservative sense... "boycott USA!!" "they don't care about Canadians!" "he's so stupid!" "The US is not an ally anymore!!"
"Boycott USA!!" - we should always support good local businesses and locally made products as much as we can, even when we don't feel threatened. And, in the grand scheme of things, boycotting only placates our feelings (we should still feel free to do it), it won't mitigate the economic consequences much, sorry to be frank. By the way, have you traced all the steps that it took to create the products/services that you're using? Can you confidently say you've cut out all that involve the USA?
"They don't care about Canadians!" - these chaotic and sudden tariffs, if they go through, will hurt EVERYONE, even MAGAS. Economists have weighed in on this, and it already happened in 2018. "They think it'll only hurt us!" They know. Everybody knows this will hurt everyone, this isn't a revelation.
"He's so stupid!" - this piss-coloured man isn't stupid... at least not stupid to the point where he doesn't realize the disaster that his actions will entail. There are many theories about this tariff thing and other orders - creating many distractions as smokescreens to cover up his incompetence, continuing his usual role as a grifter by giving out an executive order on receiving gifts from lobbyists (essentially okaying bribes) and by trying to take hostage the judiciary system, realizing promises that he made for various fascist/right-wing groups...
"The US is not an ally anymore!!" - even when they're our closest ally, even if they've been perfect (hello imperialist track record), it's always risky to put all our eggs in one basket. Why did we let ourselves - looking at all of us in the West - become so addicted to the US? Why do we all trade in dollars? Why do we let them dictate on so many things? Canada: we have 49 (!!) trade agreements, why do we act like we only have one with the US? Why didn't we diversify our portfolio?
I guess my point is we should take a second to think critically what led to this mess (yes we had a hand in this, even if we didn't vote for that piss), what all this means, how our government is reacting, what other top-level immediate measures can we take, etc.. shouting "BOYCOTT USA" alone, as good as it feels, won't do much.

To the horror of the Gods it eventually turned into a living nightmare as violence, conflict, courage, and honor was needed both in nature as well society to prevent stagnation.
I was always curious at how the world reacted to when Ares was gone in the original myth and how, if Ares is anything like Demeter, Thanatos, and Aphrodite, the world would be screwed if he was gone.

Hey all!
Hoping someone smarter than me can give me some advice. I received a TJO in December that was rescinded and then reinstated. Given the current state of things and my own personal values (and several people within the agency I have an offer for telling me it’s absolutely unsafe for someone like me right now), I’ve decided to back out of the offer.
However, I received the call about my drug test results which were positive (predictable since I take ADHD meds). I sent in the proof of these prescriptions, however haven’t heard anything following.
My questions are: 1. Do they send confirmation that a drug screen has been cleared? If so, how long does that usually take? 2. If I notify my HR PoC tomorrow of my declination, is there a potential that the positive drug screen follows me if I don’t wait for the drug test to be officially cleared? I don’t want to screw myself out of a future position if I ever do want to return to federal work.

Bom, vamos la. Ja dizia a Sandy: "jovem para ser velho, velho para ser jovem".
Vou colocar aqui meu sentimento. Gostaria que os amigos comentassem o sentimento de voces.
Temos amigos de verdade na infancia. A partir dos 23 anos temos advsarios (com poucas exceções). Na escola ate os 12 anos fazemos amigos literalmente com qualquer um. Viajei com meu primo mais novo para uma pousada e foi interessante ver como ele fazia amizade com todos ali no condomínio. Arrumou ate uma festinha de aniversário para ir.
Encher a casa para uma festa de aniversário com 10 anos é facil. Basta chamar todo mundo da rua, da escola, comprar um bolo e salgadinhos, pedir para cada um levar um refri e era festa. Qualquer coisa é motivo de brincadeira e alegria. Nao ha tempo ruim. Voce vive cercado de gente.
Ali na adolescência é facil fazer amizades, ter namoro. A fase das descobertas e tal.
Depois vem o inicio da juventude que é mais gostoso ainda: faculdade, amigos, festas, noites viradas, primeiro emprego, a primeira namorada seria com almoco na casa dos sogros.
Mas acabou a faculdade, cada um vai para seu canto e o que resta é...casar. Casar, financiar um apartamento com a pessoa escolhida e viver em familia e de vez em quando encontrar casais de amigos (muito as vezes). Para daqui a alguns anos ter filhos e tal.
E quando voce ta chegando aos 30 (no meu caso, recem feitos 29) mas voce nao se ve casando, acalmando? Sinceramente nao consigo me ver amarrado com alguem. Eu tenho o espirito jovial respirando em mim ainda.
Ainda gosto de festas. Amo viajar. Amo viver. Mas nao é mais como antes.
Se antes era facil encher uma festa de aniversário, acredito que se eu fizer uma festa de aniversário hoje pouquissimas pessoas irao. Os "amigos" do trabalho, se fossem, iriam por obrigação olhando relogio para ver se ja podiam sair num horário socialmente aceitavel. Minha família dificilmente ia parar tudo para ir, ainda mais porque moramos longe. E os poucos amigos que tenho, esse sim, iriam, mas sao poucos.
E quando olho para o Insta de meus amigos, vejo que os "populares" do tempo de colégio tao mais ou menos na mesma. Uma festa de aniversário com umas 10 pessoas, no maximo.
O que resta a alguem com 30 anos como eu que nao se ve casando é se conformando com poucos amigos (o que é bom, pois é realistico, sao pessoas que realmente gosto) e usando o dinheiro para viajar e o ar nos pulmoes para praticar esportes.
É um novo estilo de vida, uma fase. Mas é realmente saudosista olhar para tras e ver que certas fases passaram a galope.
Penso eu: se soubesse que ia passar tao rapido, nao teria ficado aquele fim de semana em casa. Teria vivido mais intensamente as baladas. Teria curtido mais cada beijo na boca adolescente, cada festinha criança.
A vida passa a galope. E a gente nem percebe.

Hi, like the title say, I'm creating an original story for my rpg, and wanted ideas on what system to use. It doesn't need to match what I want perfectly, since I can homebrew it.
The campaign will take place in the 2030's, and the story will focus on a secret organization, known only to small groups of people who have power, such as politicians and magnates linked to the organization. This organization is actually a group that has existed for centuries, since a time when magic was common in the world, formed as a group of extremely skilled people united to fight against injustice and change the world for the better in the shadows.But over time, this organization became corrupt, controlling the world from behind the scenes through favors and manipulation from large influential groups, but no longer for justice or change, only for power and domination. The members of this organization are all highly trained and extremely skilled assassins, who carry out missions throughout the world to maintain the influence and power of the organization. They use special powers, derived from ancient magic from the beginnings of the world, which over time fell into disuse, until it was forgotten. Nowadays, no one is able to use magic naturally as before, and the only ones who have access to this power are the agents of the organization, who are infused with ancient magic stored in scrolls, granting specific and unique powers to each person, known as Rites. Each of these Rites is unique, normally having some power linked to the personality, experiences and specific characteristics/abilities of the bearer. I plan for the RPG to have a fair amount of combat, so the system should support that. The characters will be trained and extremely skilled individuals, who will gradually evolve throughout the campaign. But the main focus of the RPG will be the roleplay and the characters journey, focusing on their choices and their development as they discover themselves and the secrets of the organization and this world, inspired by stories like Detroit Become Human. As I said, the system doesn't need to be exactly what I need, but I would like it to be good at the things I need, but I can modify the parts that I don't like/don't fit with my idea through homebrew.
