2025.01.31 03:09 AImoneyhowto Why is using recordings of famous people and fictional characters to train/generate an AI voice “copyright infringement”, but being able to impersonate with your own voice is fair game?
AI provides equal opportunity, so anyone can do anything regardless of natural ability. Why is this hated on so much?
Like if I wanted to make a parody of Mario or Famiky Guy, why aren’t I allowed to use recordings of their voices to generate an AI voice so that I can make them say whatever I want (in the name of parody, not defamation)?
I can’t do any voices, my own voice has issues talking for long periods of time.

My sitch: about a year ago was having breathing difficulties and began seeking medical advice. Misdiagnosed for a few months with bronchial asthema. Got really really sick. Ended up with my whole system compromised and got facial shingles and Type A influenza in rapid succession. Awful time. Got proper meds for those and came though them. Persistent racking cough.
Then one morning I woke up coughing and staggered into the living room only to pass out. I woke up flat on floor and banged up from cracking a rib on the coffee table. Quickly arranged a hospital appointment and made my way there the next morning.
After much testing, my great pulmonary cardiologist there told me that yes I had a pulmonary embolism (acute PTE) in the right side of my artery from lung to my heart. Put in hospital for a week, where I was drenched in IV blood thinner (Heparin). Then put on Rivaroxaban (Xarelto) and also a vascodilator months. Have improved but still somewhat breathless with increased activity and constant child cough.
My doctor told me he thinks I have CTEPH (chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension). The best treatment option is a PEA (pulmonary endarterectomy), open chest and manually remove large hardened clot from pulmonary artery.
This is a serious operation so they have three tests to confirm if this CTEPH is truly the case or not: CT scan, scintigraphy radioisotope lung scanning, and right heart catheterization. I have already done the first two, and will go in on Monday morning to have the catheterization test. (not looking forward to that😖).
Anyway, I think (and my doctor thinks) that CTEPH will be confirmed and then two days later we will meet with a specialist pulmonary heart surgeon to have the endarterectomy done in a few weeks.
Has anyone had this open chest surgery done? I like and trust my doctors and the excellent hospital but would like to hear others’ experiences who have had this procedure done. Scary? Painful afterwards? Recovery time? Prognosis for normal lung capacity? Looking for practical info. Thanks.

Ok bear with me, I know this is super specific…
I did not read Martin’s books because he never finished the series and I can’t handle the lack of closure, but I did watch the HBO series and loved it.
Does anyone have a suggestion for fanfic that starts where HBO left off and keeps to the tv series rather than the book series? Something that has the same vibe as the tv series, and stays true to the character arcs and paths?
I don’t care if it’s written in the same style as Martin because I won’t know the difference. I just want the personalities and storylines to stay true to the tv characters.
I’m especially interested in Daenerys and Jon and does she turn into a white walker and come back for vengeance or does the dragon burn her and then go back to a life of eating sheep? I need to know.
I do not want to read something that rewrites the story or ending of what we’ve already watched, but adds to it, if that makes sense.

2025.01.31 03:09 Khalidbenz786 Wifi connection unstable at longer range, What should I get to increase it?
Hey yall, I have no idea what I'm doing so I thought here would be a good place to ask.
Recently moved into a new house and we only have a single Coax port on the main floor which is on the on the complete far end of the house near the door to the backyard. After hooking up the wifi (ISP is rogers canada) everything works fine when you're on the ground floor getting good speeds on wifi (around 700 - 800 Mbps) and the connection is stable.
Now going to the upper floor on the opposite side of the house we get Max speeds of 120 Mbps (which is still decent but we pay for a 1.5 Gbps plan so it would be nice to have faster speeds) and the connection is unstable with frequent disconnects.
Rogers reccomended their "Wifi Extender Pods" which supposedly help extend wifi signal but they only help slightly. I've been trying to figure out what to do to fix this issue but I'm completely lost with all the new terms and products avaliable for purchase.
So now I come here, where do I even begin in fixing this. I've heard buying a better router may help with better range but i wanna know for sure what to do before dropping a few hundred dollars.

Mobile expert question Work in a busy store and Cowoker don’t want to work or help out customers. stays with the same customer for hours his record was 6 hours one day . I know more customers is more money sometimes not all the time.
