2025.01.31 03:28 Hyloveil Using 2d nodes for drag and drop inside control node UI?
Anyone know if node2d mouse interactions can work inside of control nodes? Basically I have a computer screen in my game that's projected from a subviewport onto a mesh3d that is the computer screen. My mouse functionality works with UI buttons on the subviewport screen, but I also want to be able to drag and drop certain items within the computer's UI. I realize that this asset library demo exists (https://godotengine.org/asset-library/asset/2767), but I want a Balatro style drag and drop where you actually pick up and move objects. I've tried using a node2d, area2d, and staticbody2d as the root of the draggable object, but the mouse_entered and exited signals dont work. When I add a texture rect as a child of these though, the misc tab in the debugger shows that I'm clicking the texture rect, but still the mouse entered/exited signals do not fire for the parent nodes collision body. I have the root of the object toggled as pickable and all the control nodes are set to ignore on mouse filter.

Caved and bought an Echelon the optic is a cyelee wolf 2-g if the optic ends up being trash I'm gonna return it but I've heard some pretty good things about it. Do you guys trust the loctite that comes preinstalled on the optic screws or do you think I should take it back off wipe the screws and add some fresh loctite?

 | I am sick to my stomach as I type this out. I realize that money is not everything, but my son and I have worked extremely hard to assemble the collection that we have. In the process, we have bonded and created memories in the process. I have had the pleasure of introducing him to the hobby that I have enjoyed almost my entire life. I subbed my biggest PSA order of all time with some absolute monster cards a few weeks ago. This is not our first order, we have shipped cards to PSA and other graders many times, but none can even come close to comparing with this submission. I bought the most expensive shipping that I could, "Priority Express 2-Day" with the max insurance. The label cost $139.35. I went to the Post Office and shipped the package Tuesday 1/14/2025. I was meticulous about checking the tracking every second that I could. It was received and taken to our regional facility in Midland, Texas, that same day but went completely dark shortly thereafter. The next day, I noticed that it wasn't updating and still showed "Arrived at USPS Regional Origin Facility MIDLAND TX DISTRIBUTION CENTER." I figured that maybe they forgot to scan it in somewhere along the line, so I gave it a couple of days and tried to stay patient. Finally on Friday afternoon, I decided to reach out. I called, attempted to send emails, filled out forms and did everything in my power to try to get through to a human, but was unsuccessful before the 6:00pm eastern closing time. I waited out the weekend and decided to submit a "missing mail search request." That next week, we were able to get a hold of an agent. They reassured me that the package was in transit and that it was just delayed due to the fires in California. So, I waited a few more days. Still no updates on the tracking, no emails, no calls... At this point, my blood is boiling and I decide to call again. The lady told me that they are on "level 3" of the missing mail search and that I would hear something very soon, this was on Monday of this week. Believe it or not, I still have yet to get so much as an email. Completely ghosted. I guess I need to accept the fact that it is gone and file a claim. There is no way that the package was lost and every fiber of my being KNOWS that it was stolen. My son is absolutely crushed and I am pretty devastated myself. This is the exact type of thing that deflates my eagerness for the hobby and faith in humanity. This was a HUGE chunk of the value of our collection. Had some of these gemmed, we would have been sitting pretty, at least for us... I am posting pictures of the sub and cards in question below. If you or anyone you know ever sees these cards or a combination of them, I would be extremely grateful and can offer a good reward for any info. I will try to go through my pictures and see if I can find some of the serial numbers, however, I am doubtful that I have many as I just don't screenshot or take pictures very often. Have any of you guys had a similar experience, mainly with USPS? What did you end up doing and what was the result? Should I file a police report on the regional facility or do you think it may have been stolen elsewhere? How does the claims process work? They say that the max is $5,000 and it seems like I am going to have to include proof of purchase and value? Do i provide comps or receipts from breaks and boxes purchased? I have been playing trumpet for a number of years, and I have my dream Bb. I've decided that I would like to have a C trumpet to play around with. I will probably never use it for a gig ever. These are the three highest regarded C trumpets I can find for under 1k. Since it's just for toying around with, I cannot justify putting more money towards it. I have a upcoming thing for a USAjobs job but that's far off, recently had a thing for a construction job but didn't get it, I've tried fast food even but they refuse to hire me.
I'm a humble person I'll do janitorial work , fast food, don't really care, my goal is just to pay bills for right now as I work on getting into higher education, like I am not seeking a hand out. Been eating nothing but gross dollar meals recently and ramen and whatever I can make with my once a month food pantry items from this one VA office. I've taken to doing UBER but like it's literally so bad man like I have to compete for orders with all these people and it comes out after gas and all to like maybe a dollar less than minimum wage??? Its enough to get like supplies for the day like soap, some groceries, but it isn't making me anything towards my bills.
My theory is these fast food places only hire like young people that have no real knowledge and they don't want older people such as myself who they think oh I'll get a better job offer and just leave so why even bother ?
Been waiting over a year on some of these USAjob replies so I'm still holding out hope for that but ehhhh it's really rough. Like I don't understand how in this economy people would even question someone wanting to just work a basic entry level gig, like it doesn't make sense.

Trump Administration officials today announced that in the wake of the deadly mid-air collision that claimed 67 lives on Wednesday, they will be reconvening the 9/11 commision to find if DEI played a part in the attacks.
"The September 11th, 2001 attacks, widely believed to be the result of 19 hijackers with backing from a Saudi billionaire, may in fact have been committed by DEI" says a high-ranking official, who spoke on the condition of animosity.
"DEI may in fact be responsible for many of the nation's great tragedies. Was it really Oswald in the Book Depository? Was it really the Japanese at Pearl Harbor? After carefully analyzing many of the great tragedies of the past 249 years of this country's history, we believe DEI played a role in all of them.".
"I agree DEI likely plays a part in many of the tragedies we encounter on a day to day basis.", said Robert F. Kennedy Jr. He continued "Was DEI possibly involved at the hotel my father lost his life at in 1968? We need to do this for the safety of children worldwide."
At publication time, there was no solid answer yet on if DEI was responsible for these events or others. Officials said they would be closely monitoring the situation though, adding that they suspect the president's mind itself may have been "changed for the worse" by DEI.
