It’s probably 80’s or 90’s. The car that was being driven was long like a Lincoln town car or continental (idk). Anyway, the only part I remember was this guy was trying to hide from the cops and he drives straight into a car wash cutting off a woman or elderly lady that was waiting to wash their car. You just see the cop cars drive right past the car wash and the guy that was going through the car wash laughs it off like what he did was so clever. I wish I could remember more but that’s the only part that is stuck in my brain. I think about it from time to time, but no extra details manage to pop up.

It got me thinking of a current automod rule I have in place that filters posts/comments with links to google docs until they can be reviewed by moderators where it would make sense to notify the user up-front that their post/comment is being be held for review because it links to a specific domain. I saw a post got filtered in relation to this auotmoderator rule today with the aforementioned thread from ideasfortheadmins being in recent memory.
Right now you can require domains or ban domains. There's no way to display a message to a user before submission that a link post with a particular domain will be held for review by moderators. This can presently be done for links in comments, post bodies, and text in post titles using the automations feature, but not a post's actual link.

 | Diagram of my current setup proposal I am looking into how I could setup a KVM switch for my current WFH and personal desktop setup. For work I have 2 laptops, in addition to my personal desktop that I have connected to three 1440p monitors. I am tired of having to switch outputs of the three monitors, webcam, and headphones many times every day and am considering using 2 KVM docks to address this. I have been unable to find any 3 computer 3 monitor KVM switches that support three 2560x1440 monitors up to at least 180 hz. I have been able to find a 2 computer 3 monitor KVM switch that appears to support 3 DP 2.0 outputs (which I believe should fulfill my monitor requirements). I am considering buying 2 such KVM switches and connecting them to allow me to switch between all 3 machines. Obviously this is not the most ideal approach and kinda janky as I have to use two different switches to switch between all devices. Not to mention it is much more expensive than I would like. My question is the following:

It is now 2025 and it seems we can't even get past the first month of January without witnessing craziness and madness spring up. Facebook and Meta strike again, first in releasing an update for Quest headsets that renders all their models unoperational, and then again on Facebook by censoring conversations about "Linux", removing posts and banning people's accounts, with the justification and declaring in a statement that "Linux is malware". ???? How hypocritical, considering that most of their internet servers (and 70% or more of all internet servers) run either Unix or Linux. Have they lost their minds? ...or is there some other underlying agenda. Even if there was any good reason (such as a specific user group being malicious or sketchy), what is the reasoning behind always throwing the "baby" out with the bathwater? This is the main reason I hardly ever use Facebook.
We understand there is no "privacy" online. When we choose to partake on any website or platform, that information or data is always available to someone somewhere, whether it's public or private.
There will always be specific sites and platforms that will censor or be biased (more or less). Yet, everyone knows there are actual 'legitimate' reasons for monitoring and controlling conversations, posts, and user content (and there should be), especially if we want to keep users of a site or platform safe (ex: those that are underage), and sites have to watch what's being posted in some cases because they could be held liable in certain instances. We get all that. I am very much in agreement that platforms should be responsible to some degree to keep their site and their userbase safe.
Over the past several years, we have also seen the implementation of "algorithms" and "bots" (basically, "scripts") to perform these functions. We've saw it first with YouTube and Twitch, where copyrighted images and music are detected automatically, and disclaimer banners get placed under people's videos with statements to counter what may be portrayed in the content. That's understandable, depending on the topic.
The truth is that there's a gray area and a fine line that has to remain in balance. The wrong kind or too much control can lead to unwanted censorship and bias, ...whereas too little control, or none at all, is literally the "wild west" where every user has to fend for himself or herself.
To IMVU:
IMVU, we applaud you for some of the changes and advances you have made and implemented on your platform, website, and phone app. We applaud you for being the first virtual platform to roll-out SEC regulated cryptocurrency, ...and for IMVU Studio, the new developments in shading & shimmer effects, real-working YouTube players in rooms, voice-chat, and a tier-level VIP purchase system.
We also understand you are a business first, and that means being profitable of course. And yes, we also understand your focus toward your main userbase demographic. We understand that Classic Client was built on Sims2 technology way over a decade ago, and you've done the best you can trying to patch & upgrade it and keep it secure.
We appreciate your awareness and willingness to make IMVU a "safe space" for those who are under 18 on your platform, but at the same time also trying to roll-out an enhanced AP+ program for those who want to use it as such.
....but the truth is that you haven't really done a great job of rolling-out news, updates, and development changes to the "majority" of your userbase in the past. It looks like that has changed and gotten better currently, but we're certainly not stupid. Whether you choose to acknowledge it or not, ....a good slice of your demographic are your legacy users, as well as older-aged users, who enjoy your platform and Classic Client.
NOW I'LL GET TO THE POINT OF ALL THIS:
Over the past 6 months, we've noticed an 'auto-script' running in the room chat, and not just in public rooms, but in "private" rooms as well. We've noticed sometimes that what we type 'doesn't appear' after we enter it, and is replaced by a line (auto-generated from IMVU) reprimanding the user for whatever it was that was entered, ...whether it be curse words, strong language, or just a negative statement.
I understand what you are trying to do, and it may even be a good solution in a GA public room environment, ...IF DONE THE RIGHT WAY. What really bothers me though is that this script is "active" in ...."Private" room instances. What????
Like I said, your users are not stupid, and I think we can guess what may be being rolled-out in the near future. My desperate plea and warning to you is, for whatever you plan to do with this safegard (even with the best of intentions), PLEASE make sure you do it properly and in the right way that will "benefit everyone". You have a history of rolling-out defective scripts and then "permanently banning" users because of it. I KNOW BECAUSE I WAS ONE OF THEM, and if it wasn't for your former CEO/COO Kevin Henshaw listening to me and helping me out, I never would have got my account restored.
I do not know what your plans are, but please be very careful in this, ...and whatever you do, ...PLEASE INFORM YOUR USERBASE OF IT so no one is caught off-guard.
I may not like or agree with the direction or some of the decisions your company has made, but I truly "do enjoy" IMVU, and I am a proud user and proponent of your platform. We have all watched the online user count go from 200K to roughly 30 to 50K. I don't want to see IMVU lose anymore of it's userbase with people leaving, giving up, or walking away, ....because of another auto-script that could potentially mess things up.

Now, at the time, I had no idea what it was—I just thought it was a funky-looking shower accessory. Curiosity got the better of me, and well, I decided to give it a try.
Fast forward a few minutes, and my mind was racing with confusion, excitement, and a sprinkle of guilt. I mean, what had I just done? I quickly rinsed everything off, convinced that I was now carrying the weight of a secret that could change my world forever.
The following days were a blur. I started feeling bloated, and my mind spiraled into panic mode. I was convinced that using my dad's "thing" somehow made me pregnant. I couldn’t eat, sleep, or focus on anything else. The thought of telling my dad made my stomach churn even more than the bloating did.
In a moment of sheer desperation, I decided to go to my grandma’s house, thinking maybe some home-cooked meals and her reassuring presence would help calm my nerves. But, surprise! The bloating only got worse. I could practically hear the ticking clock of impending doom. I felt like I was carrying a secret that could break my family apart.
Finally, I couldn’t take it anymore. I called my dad, shaking and panicking. “Dad, I think I’m pregnant,” I blurted out, tears welling up in my eyes. “I used your… thing… in the shower.”

To this day, he teases me about that call, and it’s become a family joke. I learned a valuable lesson that day—not just about adult “toys” but also about how to laugh at life’s absurdities.
So, there you have it. A bizarre chapter from my childhood that still makes me cringe, but at least now it gives us all something to laugh about. If you ever find yourself in a similar situation, just remember: It’s probably not what you think, and sometimes, laughter really is the best medicine!

A recruiter landed me an interview with a company and she called me to say I got the job! In the call, I asked a few questions and asked if there was an official offer letter I could see and she said no, her company doesn’t typically do that for contract positions. She said she would take the time to write something up for me since I asked. She then made me verbally agree to the offer on the phone and we hung up soon after.
I emailed her to check-in as I didn’t think it would take too long and i was anxious to see something official. She emailed back saying that her computer broke. [Note: she also called me from her personal phone because something was wrong with it] She said she would try to get me a write-up soon for my records but it’ll have to be Monday since she’s out of office tomorrow and her computer is totally broken.
I can barely relax and enjoy the fact that I was offered the job because it doesn’t feel concrete. Is all of this normal? It feels fishy and I feel like something will slip through my fingers.
Do contracts not need offer letters? Is verbal agreement enough?

There was a massive culling of chickens because of a bird flu out break that hit one of the biggest egg producers in Georgia. Blaming something that happened days before trump took presidency is no different then what fox has tried to pawn off go Biden.

2025.01.31 03:03 xii BE CAREFUL when re-saving a SVG file using the default File>Save command after first opening IL. Your SVG will likely end up corrupted due to the default precision value of 1 decimal place.
 | First off, I've gone over this issue in detail on the "Adobe Community" forum here: https://community.adobe.com/t5/illustrator-discussions/opening-a-svg-and-then-re-saving-it-causes-severe-distortions-in-the-resulting-file/m-p/15123107#M434142 I've also posted a feature request to rectify this problem on the "Illustrator Uservoice" site. I'd be absolutely thrilled and grateful if any of you find this issue important to take a quick second to vote on the idea so it gains some visibility and traction. Here is the link: https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447-illustrator-desktop-bugs/suggestions/49398668-svg-precision-and-options-are-reset-on-every-launc So basically, as it stands right now, if you launch Illustrator, open a SVG file, and then re-save it (even if you make no modifications) - your resulting saved file will likely have severe distortion due to the fact that Illustrator resets the SVG save precision to one decimal point on every launch of the application. Even if you have set this value to something else in the past, it will reset automatically to 1 when you reopen IL. This makes it nefariously easy to corrupt existing SVG files if you aren't aware of this, and requires that you set your SVG precision to a much higher value (I prefer 5-6 decimal places) via the Save As... dialog FIRST before saving or working with any additional SVG files. I completely understand that Illustrator isn't designed to "round-trip" SVG edits, and that the preferred way would be to work with the native .AI format. But resetting your SVG export settings on launch is simply evil. Here are some example screenshots: Original SVG: This is the original SVG. Re-Saved SVG Resaved SVG - Notice the path distortion and inconsistent thickness. So now, a pro-tip to anyone working with SVG files: Make sure you use "Save As..." first, and then increase the precision to 5-6 decimal points in the resulting dialog that appears: SVG Export Options Dialog Change the value from 1 to something like 5 or 6. You might be able to get away with less but personally I prefer the precision to be as high as possible. This is kind of a big problem, as it's very easy to corrupt existing artwork if you're not careful. I'm hoping that with enough attention to this that Adobe does something and lets us set SVG export options permanently in some way.
