I had a mental breakdown at my last job in November 2023. I had to go on FMLA leave and temporary disability because my job was so stressful it triggered a mixed episode from my bipolar disorder.
I didn’t do anything until May 2024 and then I started my own business consulting company. I couldn’t get enough clients quick enough to justify continuing so I started looking for a job in October.
I finally landed an amazing job. I’m a Retail Learning and Development manager. I have experience doing this same job for another company in the same industry so I’m uniquely qualified.
However, I’m only a week in and I’m trying to adjust. In a week and a half I’ve already been sent to two states, one I flew to and stayed for 4 days, and another I drove to and stayed for three. I’m exhausted from getting used to traveling again. I’m a 30F but because I take medication for bipolar disorder and it makes me tired, I don’t have enough energy.
I even take two stimulants in the morning to wake me up so I can do my job. Vyvanse and Wellbutrin. I still crash at 5pm. However, this job requires more work than 9-5 because I need to build the company’s entire training infrastructure from the ground up.
Not only do I have several major projects and initiatives due in the next three weeks, I report to a C level exec who has very high standards and wants everything done yesterday.
How do I keep myself sane and stay balanced????? I’ve always been a workaholic but I don’t want to crash and burn again.

I’m currently in my 3rd year of college and feeling lost. I’ve spent the last few years without learning anything useful, and now I’m realizing I have a real interest in tech. The problem is, I feel like I’m starting way too late.
Most people seem to start coding in their early teens or even younger, and I can’t help but feel like I’ve already fallen behind. Is it too late to start learning and break into the tech industry? If not, what’s the best way to get started and catch up?

Hi All,
I quit my job in May 2022 - as a Customer Support Engineer for this small "medtech" company. Took a break - worked outdoors on a Dude Ranch in Colorado.
Then let family and the world stress me - and Spam applied for everything under the sun - in unproductive ways.
Worked mostly as a Substitute Teacher and Line cook since 2023 and have had a bunch of interviews for things - but not enough all at once - and feeling nervous about my financial situation - didn't sound upbeat enough.
2024- Spent the first half of the year on interviews for some roles - and thought I was going to get an It role - that didn't pan out.
Jan 2025: working on my interview prep and practice. and putting some project on github.
I'm currently Based in an area - that doesn't really have much going on - where I grew up - can't afford to move back to a bigger city yet.
Not sure if it's worth going to my college's career fair. Been scanning on EventBrite and schools in Philly (my closest city) - for networking events. Want to do in person events - to meet people and engage with the material better.
Any advice?
