My advice is let it cook and wait and see how changes affect the game. I’m the first to admit in the past I have come here and freaked out when a new mode or constraint or rework was presented, but over time, things end up being not that big of a deal. I railed against the time limit of the new campaign mode as well as the level caps. I also found myself succumbing to the mass hysteria around this alleged Ragnar rework. But in hindsight, campaign event wasn’t really that bad. I was able to fully complete standard and most of extremis and ran out of stuff to do within the alotted time, I don’t pay much attention to it now and there are still a few days to go. I can’t finish extremis but that’s because I don’t have a full diamond death guard line up and I won’t be building that anyway. The flaws with the campaign event were more around DG not being balanced against admech very well to make playing this campaign fun, and less around level caps or time limits. Overall it was ok.
Now the latest scandal is Ragnar, but we don’t know what it actually will be. Maybe they will make the howl end his turn with a charge, maybe they will say it can’t stack, or something else. I’m confident it will be fine in the long run. I don’t think SP is going to deliver a multihit-killer or something like that.
PvP is always going to have problems, it’s the nature of the beast. I’d love to see a day when there are some strong competing lines in the PvP meta, so if that ends up being the result and raid teams can still raid, we will be golden.
I am looking forward to a reset stone, though, I made some absurd investments in thutmose before I knew what the hell I was doing lol.
So, let’s let them cook. It probably won’t be that bad.

Hello everyone, in 2026 I want to apply for Arabic studies at one of the universities in Poland (not this year, because I want to re-take my final exams from high school which is what you need to apply for higher education in my country. My results aren't very good and I already had plans to re-take them). I already got a few books for learning Arabic that were available in my native language, and I already have a slight idea which dialect I want to learn (so far, I settled on Syrian). However, I need some good all around textbook for the fusha. I know a lot of people love using Al-Kitaab, but the book costs almost 140 USD and that's way far more than I can afford. 2025.02.01 20:51 Difficult-Ad-5402 Level 54 and Stuck on How to Make my Build
First time Souls player (first time RPG player for that matter) here. I am stuck on how I should build my character moving forward. To this point, I have been leveling up mostly Vigor, with points towards Strength, Endurance, and Mind. I have been using the Lordsworn's Greatsword, and recently equipped the Claymore greatsword to dual wield those for jumping attacks which has been successful so far.
My Lordsworn's greatsword is at +12 and Claymore is +4. I am not sure if I should level these up any more because I'm not sure how long I want to keep using them. Alternatively, I'm hesitant to upgrade any other weapons (that I currently own) if I want to try switching it up because I don't want to spend a bunch of smithing stones without a good gameplan.
I would like to use swords that deal special effect damage like bleed, fire or magic. For a lot of the game recently, I have been using the Carian Greatsword w/ Magic affinity AoW, but that skill takes awhile to use and I find myself wasting FP with a lot of bosses. I recently switched to the Bloody Slash AoW and that seems to be pretty powerful.
With all that said, I think I want to try a bloody blade build for the time being. Based on videos I've been watching (while only watching to the point of locations that I've been too already to avoid spoiler footage), it sounds like you're better off using curved blades or quicker dual weapons if using a bloody build. Since I have leveled up my greatswords, would it still be effective for me to use a bleed build with them?
My current stats:
Vigor: 32
Mind: 15
Endurance: 20
Strength: 24
Dexterity: 15
Intelligence: 9
Faith: 11
Arcane: 7
I started putting a couple points towards faith because I want to start using incantations (I have not started doing that yet, but plan to start soon). With me using a "Champion" type build to this point (or at least attempting to unintentionally), I wasn't sure if that was the direction I wanted to keep going. I defeated Renalla and it sounds like that is where I would respec once I find a larval tear (going to start looking to find/purchase once I figure out how I would want to respec).
So if I'm going for a dual sword build with either dealing bleed damage or some sort of other magic/fire damage, how do you think I should respec? Is Strength not as big of a stat even if dual wielding swords if I'm trying to use a different type of damage? Or would I level up both Strength and said stat (likely Faith or Dexterity by the sounds of it).
Not sure if it matters, but to this point I have defeated Godrick and Renalla for main bosses, cleared Weeping Peninsula, Limgrave (Stormveil), most of Liurnia of the Lakes (I think, mainly the Raya Academy and the boss at Carian Study Hall but nothing beyond that, seems like I need to revisit at some point), lifted the Grand Dectus Lift but haven't explored much beyond that, and I'm currently trying to clear Caelid.
