2025.02.01 22:53 novelty-socks Recommendations for a family break in May?
Looking for ideas for a family holiday in May, for a week. It would be me, my partner and our eight-year-old son travelling.
Previous successes have included Cascais (we did 3 nights in a hotel with a pool, 3 nights in an AirBnb), Ljubljana, Helsinki, Copenhagen and Arcachon.
Ideally we want a town or city as a base where we can get good food and drink and do stuff without having to drive too much. Max flight time 4 hours. Not keen on all-inclusive or resorts. Swimming is important for my son, so maybe a nice hotel with a pool, or a swimmable beach otherwise. We're not wedded to a beach-type location, as long as the accommodation has swimming as an option.
Currently struggling to narrow it down, but thinking Greece or, ummm, Tallinn, if we can find the right hotel there. Any suggestions or recommendations?

Besides him posting up peeps plaques deleting and reposting stuff, I remember things from his Instagram that I can't find anywhere now....I remember a live stream I joined...me and my best friend were getting ready to go to bed it was like maybe midnight for us or maybe even 3 am (unsure what exact time or date) but I remember seeing that he was going live so I joined it, me and my best friend were just sitting there and all I hear Tracy say is "this is why I don't fuck with you Instagram ni**as this is why I'm on twitter" and he was just going offfff and one key point I remember is him saying something like "y'all can go kys" and just ending the stream like that....but I looked at my friend in complete shock because of this experience, there was only a few hundred people on there and I don't know if anyone recorded it or saw it. But this has stuck with me since and I know I'm not losing it... because after I was like "lil Tracy told me to kms" š I also remember him making a post on peeps birthday saying "keep the castle warm I'll be there soon" and I still have the screen shot of that post, I have the screen shot because I thought it was sweet, then I noticed he deleted it..so that's my story I would love to know about the stream and if anyone else was on that stream a few years ago

This is a Brown WTM110-3 (very limited info out in the world but also known as Brown Stove Works M Series 110 Gas Range)
So the oven burner turns on fine, the problem is it never turns DOWN. No matter what setting itās on, it continues with the largest flame possible, up to and beyond 500Ā°. Iāve never dealt with gas ovens, but my limited understanding is this should be a thermocouple issue. There is no always-lit pilot light on this oven. It ignites with a piezo.
In the photos youāll see the back view of the oven knob with the two gas lines on left and right and copper wire in the middle. I assume the wire is a thermocouple of sorts. The wire simply runs into a hole straight down into the oven interior. There is 5-6ā of that bare copper wire hanging inside the oven, and that is it. It terminates there with no probe or anything. So this is weird to me as someone who knows nothing but is used to seeing thermocouples/thermistors with ā¦ a little more to them.
My question is what the hell should I be replacing in all of this? The entire (thermostat?) assembly behind the knob? The wire? I can find any part I need to, sourcing wonāt be a problem, but Iād just like an opinion on whether Iām even close in my troubleshooting and the smartest thing to replace first, before I get the mfgr involved for a stove this old/lacking info.
Feel free to tell me this is a waste of time or can of worms! Iām just doing this for my health, so if replacing the whole range is better according to the pros, so be it.

How do you think Saiki ended up dating Teruhashi in that one episode where it showed his alternate universe? (The gang found out about his power ep.)
I feel like after he revealed his powers, Teruhashi would eventually find him alone and ask about his mind-reading ability. They would have conversations where Saiki admitted his telepathic abilities to Teruhashi, leaving her shy and flustered at the realization that he had always known what she was thinking.
Would she have the guts to ask if he liked her? Maybe. But Saikiās answer would either be no or something uncertain.
Or maybe Teruhashi wouldnāt ask at all. Saiki would still hear her thoughts though. They chose not to talk about it and went on with their lives.
Teruhashi would likely figure it out that Saiki simply didnāt like her that way.
As time passed, Teruhashi still stayed true to herself. But she would start noticing Saiki avoiding her (especially now that she knew he could teleport). She wouldn't push him like before and rather would let him go at his own pace and Saiki would eventually allow her to be near him and they ended up 'dating'.
Iām not a fan of Saiki x Teruhashi. Honestly, I hate it. But I donāt go after people who do. Even if I dislike it, you canāt deny thereās something going on between them in the anime, and I couldnāt help but think about this.
What do you guys think? I might get this wrong since I watch the show for funsies and I just look, not read. š

The answer is fairly obvious but thought I should ask since it might not be to some.
The majority of posts on here clearly have a strong consistent angle to one side, which is predictable and always tends to be the latest talking points of that side. Then anyone with opposing viewpoints gets downvoted with not much discussion going on at all.
The reason I make the post is I always thought Jordon Peterson to be this beacon of reason, or at least the community to be for that. Where people could discuss ideas and figure out whatās going on, with nuanced, thoughtful ideas and perspectives. Rather than a rehashing of current talking points with nothing new to offer and any attempts of discussion or opposition downvoted and/or ignored.
It goes both ways too. I imagine the subreddit has been flooded recently with both sides that really havenāt followed Jordon Peterson all that much and just see it as an opportunity to fight the āculture warā. But I also think there are people that have been here a long time and donāt want to see a community lost in all this. Thatās where opposing viewpoints are valuable and worthy of discussion.
Could we get back to something a bit more productive?

She turned 3 in December and has been with me since right after her first birthday. Chrissy has a rough first year though. She was born on an Amish puppy mill in central Pennsylvania, never was sold as a puppy and just kind of existed on that farm with a pack of chocolates for most of her first year. I don't know exactly how bad it was, but the woman who rescued those dogs told me they'd never had a good experience with human hands. My house the was the first house Chrissy had ever been in, she'd never had a bed before. Unsurprisingly, Chrissy came to me terrified of everything, but 2 years later things have gotten a lot better. She much more confident and has developed into a very sweet, goofy dog. She knows her basic commands, walks great on a leash, loves playing with other dogs at the park and doesn't chew or mess with anything except her toys. A few months ago she even started seeking me out when I'm not in the same room as her, and now every night she'll join me on the couch if I say "do you wanna watch TV?" A year ago I wouldn't have even considered that was an option. One thing I haven't been able to do though, is get her to play. She'll play with other dogs. She loves the park. But if I toss a ball, or a frisbee or something she'll either stare at it, confused, or worse, suddenly get timid about it and avoid me entirely. She has no idea that playing with a human at all. It sucks because there isn't always other dogs at the park and I'd love to get her some extra exercise by playing fetch. She's my second lab and my first was ball obsessed, we could play for hours. It's not just fetch, she won't play tug either, or take a toy from me if I'm holding it. Has anyone else had anything like this with a rescue lab?
