It's a hot summer's day where we live, we have this little pool for infants/toddlers that have an attached canopy for shade, so we filled it up with pnly about an inch or two of water and put our 4 month old in her supported bath seat inside (we of course were right there holding her too), and has her sat in there for maybe 1-2 minutes before I took her out. I didn't really think that maybe the water could be too cold for her. She was totally fine, just seemed confused, as she's only ever been in warm water / heated pool for her swimming lessons, but now I feel so guilty as I read babies under 6 months should only be in water 30-32°c, although it was only her feet / some splashing onto her legs. Will she be okay? I definitely won't do that again.

2025.02.02 01:41 Dddddddfried Far Away Places' brilliant story structure
This has my favorite story structure of any Mad Men episode. Original yet natural. Experimental but seemingly effortless.
To refresh your memories, instead of transitioning between A, B, and C stories, this episode is told in three uninterrupted sections from a single character’s POV. Peggy failing the Heinz pitch/movie theater handy, Roger taking LSD, and Don’s trip to Howard Johnson’s. Each tale is completely satisfying on its own.
Part of what makes this episode so unique is how it handles time. Each story starts the same morning, so we have to travel back in time when one ends and the next begins. But not only that, each section handles time differently within its own story.
Peggy’s is the most conventional. Time moves forward from scene scene in order to tell the story. Roger’s is the most radical. His LSD trip bends time until Jane points out “how can a few numbers contain all of time?” Don’s is the most disorienting. Time lurches forward in the car without any camera cuts, first on the way up to Howard Johnson’s, then again when Don ditches Megan. Time also staggers as he waits around Howard Johnsons. The unchanging setting is uncomfortable since we can't mark any progress, until a cop shakes Don awake at 2 am.
The episode ends the next morning, and we get a glimpse of how each character has been effected by the previous day's journey. No one story has been elevated above the other. Each character has gone to a Far Away Place and is changed by it forever. Peggy starts to build a life outside of SCDP before ultimately quitting. Roger gets a new lease on life, goes to therapy and actually tries at his job. And Don loses control of Megan.
To me, this is the defining episode of Season 5. And its broken, looping structure helps take us to the Far Away Places.

Olá a todos, sou um jovem de 17 anos, não sei nada sobre como o mundo funciona e tenho muita pouca experiência em relações sociais, mesmo dentro da minha família ou com meus próprios pais, então decidi fazer essa postagem pra ter uma opinião externa sobre se estou certo em me sentir assim ou se só estou sendo chato. Basicamente a história é que no dia anterior meu pai avia me convidado pra ir a um "churrasco" de família longe da nossa casa, minha mãe não poderia estar lá pois ela está trabalhando em um evento especial e precisa ficar longos períodos fora de casa, a proposta em questão era que nós dois iríamos participar da festa em uma boa casa com nossos outros parentes, e depois nos íamos dormir na casa de outro parente nosso e iríamos voltar pra nossa casa logo quando amanhecer, a casa em questão que iríamos dormir é uma casa de veraneio do meu tio, na qual já passamos muitos dias e inclusive várias viradas de ano, então dormir lá não seria um problema pra mim, então eu aceitei ir com ele pois além da comida e por achar que ia ser divertido, a casa ficava perto de um restaurante que eu amava, mas acima de tudo que concordei com minha mãe que eu ia porque queria cuidar do meu pai e garantir que ele voltaria bem, então quando chegamos lá tudo estava ótimo, o lugar era lindo e ótimo, o único problema é que nós aviamos chegado um pouco tarde e não tinha sobrado carne pra nós dois, porém eu não estava tão preocupado pois aviamos passado no restaurante que mencionei antes e eu estava bem alimentado e de muito bom humor pra me importar, porém com o passar do tempo eu fui desanimado um pouco e nessa altura eu já queria voltar pra casa, mas não queria dizer ao meu pai pois eu estaria sendo um estraga prazeres, até que depois de umas horas a festa acabou muito antes doque eu imaginei e meu pai me chamou pra irmos embora, inicialmente eu fiquei muito aliviado em voltar pra casa tão cedo, mas ai nos eu percebi que nos estávamos indo pra casa do meu tio, questionei o meu pai por isso é ele me lembro que esse era o nosso combinado, não fiquei com raiva, porém pelo tempo que levamos pra chegar lá e o horário que estávamos saindo eu pensei que não seria problema voltarmos pra casa, questionei meu pai sobre isso porém ele me respondeu que a estrada que viemos era muito ruim de dirigir, como eu disse no início eu tenho apenas 17 anos e não tenho absolutamente nenhuma experiência dirigindo, então sabia que seria idiota da minha parte contestar sendo que eu não sei nada sobre dirigir, porém na minha cabeça nós não tivemos nenhum problema vindo prá casa, então fique me questionando muito se realmente era verdade e se não poderíamos só ir para casa, mas não insistir pois como disse antes, eu já dormir naquela casa várias vezes, então dormir lá não é um problema, até que quando chegamos lá a poucos minutos, eu estava colocando nossa bagagem no nosso quarto, e então eu olhei pra trás e tanto na porta da entrada como na porta dos fundos tinham pichações estranhas pelo lado de dentro, e quando questionei meu pai sobre isso ele disse que tinham arrombado a casa de meu tio e roubado algumas coisas, nesse momento eu gelei de uma forma que eu nunca tinha ficado antes, especialmente porque agora essa é a segunda vez que eu fico próximo de um roubo, e fiquei extremamente nervoso pois a primeira vez foi a alguns anos justamente em uma casa de veraneio, onde eu e a outra parte de minha família fomos furtados pois não estávamos na casa porque eu tinha pedido pra minha mãe para irmos tomar sorvete e vários dos nossos parentes foram junto, então na casa ficou apenas a minha avó e os cachorros do meu outro tio, que não batem nem em mosca, então acabaram que entraram na casa sem minha vó perceber e furtaram várias de nossas coisas, dentre elas meu laptop, então eu estou com muito medo e receio de dormir aqui sabendo que a pouco tempo invadiram a casa, e ainda mais por meu pai não ter me contado sobre isso, pessoalmente eu não acho que ele pensou que eu ficaria tão ressentido por saber disso é nem acho que ele lembra do furto que aconteceu, mas o fato dele não ter pensado em me contar isso é oque me deixa mais chateado com ele, apesar deque não quero culpá-lo, pois sinto que ele é tão ruim em se comunicar quanto eu, mas inda sim eu não quero mais dormir nessa casa, nesse momento eles está no quarto enquanto eu fico na sala, não sinto que seja a hora certa pra falar com ele porém não sei se consigo não desabafar sobre esse sentimento, por isso estou fazendo esse post, e também quero saber se eu sou ou não o babaca dessa história

I am not sure this is the right subreddit but here it goes, i have an old Genie Intellicode screw drive garage opener. A couple of days ago, the garage stopped opening. I noticed the screw rod stopped spinning. My first thought was that it must be the coupler. I replaced the coupler, but it is still not working. I noticed the screw rod is not connected to the coupler. So, I adjusted it and tested it before connecting it to the carriage, but when the carriage is connected, the rod slides off the coupler, and the rod stops spinning.
I hope you all can give some advice or suggestions.
