2025.02.02 00:42 knuckboy Rest or lazy vs. doing activities
So I'm just past 8 months my accident and back home. Overall things are well and I'm adapting and so is my family. I've made contact with a BIA group near me but haven't gone too far. My question has two parts, one is my general behavior and two is because they have a somewhat full day "clubhouse " program/opportunity.
I'm wrestling with how much to push myself or expect of myself. I generally have decent energy but have occasional days like 2 days ago which was drag ass. My wondering is about how much to push myself. And it's winter so that limits some potential activity. Basically should I lean towards pushing myself or at 8 months should I favor rest. I sort of end up feeling a bit guilty resting. I do things I'm allowed to do, and have relearning how to do. So laundry, getting mail, dealing with trash and recycling are my main things so far. My vision is horrible from it, like looking through a tube. But should I rest? Does that help still with recovery? I'd be super glad to hear input from others. Back to the clubhouse thing, I'm worried about bit about a near full day thing. But should I worry less and push myself? I'm also a bit older now, at 52 years of age.

All government and health IT runs on Microsoft 365, almost everything in our health system is an American product
All our geographical systems are built around ArcGIS, so basically every single Map that you see whether it be parks Canada or department of natural resources
Our schools and universities are hopeless addicted to Google Chrome OS or Microsoft Windows and 365
Even our websites and other IT infrastructure developed in Canada is running on Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud or Amazon Web services
Canada doesn't have a single notable cloud IaaS (Infrastructure as a service) provider nor a PaaS (Platform as a service)
And I'm not even going to get into the hardware aspect where 90% of Canadians buy Apple products
If we really wish to reduce our dependence on them, IT and technology is by far the most important sector, it's the biggest contributor to the American economy and the gains in the American stock market (S&P 500 to be more precise) are very much down to technology.
We can never fully replace every single thing but we can at least reduce our reliance by either focusing on open source alternatives (Linux) or better yet build companies right here. All that is needed is the courage to stumble or fail sometimes
A few years ago I tried to convince the local library in my hometown to upgrade their very outdated and slow computers to Linux, this would make the computers faster and introduce the kids in our areas to open source technology, not to mention cut out the addiction to Microsoft office from a young age, but they said it would be a security risk with no guarantee of success.

She was being fed wheat and bread flour but now I'm starting to feed her solely wheat till her yeast is fully developed. She just had her first rise. I also invested in a food scale to weigh her with. I think I was vastly under feeding her and also diluting her with flour and water.

I just did maybe my 2nd ever grocery order and it's been a nightmare. We made sure to choose things that said they were available and gave options for replacements. At this point 9 of 15 items have been replaced and the shopper isn't even done. It's not the dasher's fault but why do they even pretend to have any stock of anything?
At this point if I had ordered M&M's then I would not be shocked if I was offered skittles instead ...

Hi! I’ve been babysitting for a family I’m close with for the last 3 school years and have always been given $65 dollars for the morning since I’ve started. I babysit at least once a week but usually its twice. We live in a suburban area right outside of a major city. I arrive at 6:00 ( leaving my house around 5:30/5:40) and take care of three kids aged 8,6, and 3. I get them dressed, make breakfast, and then drive the older kids to school by 8:05 and then drop the youngest off at daycare by 8:15am. Before we leave, I try my best to tidy up the house before we leave (they have never asked me to do this but I feel like I can’t leave it with the morning mess out). After I drop them off, I drive home to make sure I make it in time to clock in for my 9-5. It’s a fast paced morning since at least one of the kids is up by the time I get there. I usually leave feeling exhausted. Since I’m in a high cost area and have been doing this for 3 years without an increase, is $65 still fair? I’ve seen that rates have increased a bit. Im just curious if I’m I being fairly compensated for my time. Would love to hear what others think. Thank you!

Hello bidet people! I purchased a a Toto washlet C2 on the wife's recommendation as she used something similar while on a trip in Japan.
Installation was a breeze, but when I was done, looking down at the seat it felt very small, and it wiggled a little bit, which I guess is semi normal? Anyway, it looked too small for me, as a 6'2" 250+ male so I sat on the seat with underwear on and it didn't work at all for my anatomy. Felt like either the front bit was outside or the back bit was outside of the designated clearance zone, without being too crass lol.
Are there any good quality, equally featured bidets that are big dude friendly? Looking into it a bit I guess the heating tanks in the washers take up some pretty decent real estate but the tankless options I found so far have all been just basic under-seat sprayers.
Any help or firsthand experience would be appreciated!
