I’ve had my watch for over 4.5 years. I’ve tracked 689 activities from skiing to running. I love my watch. It still feels like the best splurge purchase I’ve ever made for myself. The battery life hasn’t even dropped in that time. The only thing that’s changed is I have a minor scratch on the screen that doesn’t bug me. Does the Garmin Fenix 8, have absolutely anything worth considering upgrading for? I still feel like I have the watch, nothing about it bugs me. Is there something revolutionary about the 8 that I am missing?

2025.02.02 01:41 JUICE_B0X_HERO Anyone running Home-made traction bars? Need some mounting ideas.
Planning on making some diy trac bars. I have the front mounts and bars already in the works. I just need to figure out how to mount the bars to the rear via the heim joints. Should i weld some tabs to the axle tube, weld tabs onto the stock u-bolt plate or make a mount that bolts onto the bottom of u bolts? If i did the last option i think ill need longer u bolts if i use anything thicker than 3/8 plate. Any pics or thoughts are appreciated.

I’m not really looking for advice I guess I just need to let my anger and frustration out to other people. This might be a long post so please bear with me.
I’m in a relationship that was toxic from the start pretty much. We went on a couple dates in July and everything was fine and then we made it exclusive. A few weeks after making it exclusive I started getting an inkling that he is an alcoholic. One day I was driving home from one of my martial arts classes and he texted me and asked me to buy him 4 shooters of vodka. I thought it was kind of weird but didn’t think much else of it. I just kinda figured that some people drink a little bit after work to wind down and it’s not that big of a deal.
Then he started staying the night at my house and that’s when I really found out he’s an alcoholic. He would drink at my house and get black out drunk or drink to the point of passing out. He would drink in the morning before work and drink and drive(more on that later). He would drink to the point where he would either hallucinate while drunk or hallucinate when he was withdrawing from alcohol. He would see things and people that weren’t there and make disturbing comments. I would constantly come to his rescue when his drinking got to the point wheee it would cause issues in his relationships and normal day to day life. I’ve taken him to the hospital more times than I can remember, I’ve picked him up from his house when his roommates got sick of him. I’ve had to call the ambulance for him because he would become suicidal.
Whenever he fucked up bad enough when he’d been drinking he would be very remorseful and he would be very worried about me abandoning him(he has borderline personality disorder). I never abandoned him because I loved him too much and I saw so much potential in him. After the dust settled he would go back to drinking and he would treat me like shit and the cycle would constantly repeat itself.
He got a dui in September and finally went to rehab(NOT court ordered) in November. Him going to rehab was a decision he made on his own because he went on a bender that literally almost killed him over Halloween weekend. He completed the entire in patient rehab program and had his trial for the dui shortly after that. Since then he’s been doing a lot better about taking his sobriety seriously where he struggled to do that in the past.
The problem is that he still treats me like shit even when he’s been sober. He constantly criticizes me for every little mistake I make. It makes me feel like he is only doing it to cut me down whether he realizes it or not. I kept quiet all these months because I have low self esteem and would rather just keep the peace than rattle the cage. I also kept quiet because I didn’t want the stress of having to deal with it exacerbate his drinking problem.
Well I have had enough. I told him how it made me feel a few weeks ago and he apologized and said he would work on treating me better. He didn’t. After the dust settled he went back to doing the same thing. I finally got FED UP tonight and told him. I also told him that if he can’t start treating me better then he’s going to have to find a new place to live because I am not tolerating it anymore. He completely gaslit me tonight and acted like he didn’t do anything wrong.
I am giving him one more chance to make an honest effort at treating me with respect but if he can’t he’s moving out(he’s not listed on my lease). It feels good to finally stand up for myself but I am still disappointed that it took this long.
