This are sort of hypothical mod ideas, That i wonder how easy masters of xcom would find them. Would they normal/vetern as hard as classic/commander or harder.
Assuming a either unmodded except for quality of life run, or lightly modded (better chosen, keep pod count and world war lost to mildly buff zombies, chosen trainable sparks and metal over flesh redux to mildly buff sparks, resistance
Scenario 1 enemies in their scamper face if triggered not by a unit unconcealing, get a damage reduction bonus, where they take half damage from all hits, rounded down, minimum one for a round. Basically it becomes very hard to kill foes in the first round, the second round is fine. On the bright side, one does get two extra rounds to timers to help make up for the delays.
Scenario 2, enemies get a bonus action at the start of the turn where they do the following actions based on this decision tree.
First, they use a special ability if they got a tempting use of it.
Second, they take a shot with overwatch penalty aka 70% aim and no ability to crit if they have a higher than 33% to hit.
Third they move to a more preferable spot based on the following rules. Only if they do not have overwatch
first if the spot they move would lead them move into a area where they can move into a better flanking spot or place with height advantage, they do so.
Second they will move to a spot where enemies have worse chance to hit them with their weapon as decided by the combined hit chance of everyone aiming them.
Third if none of the above applies, they move to a spot they like better as based on the normal A.I
Finally if none of this applies they reload their weapon

I just moved to Raleigh, NC a year ago. Currently living in a 600k house but i have another 100k iād like to use to buy a property for rent. I want to start my research and was curious if anyone has a method of trying to evaluate houses on Zillow etc to determine where a deal may exist. Also, does anyone have a method of going about figuring out which neighborhoods are good targets for high rental demand, and running calculations to determine roughly if it will provide positive cashflow.
Also, i am curious how i would tackle the insurance piece of this if i am buying it specifically to rent.
Any and all help is much appreciated. Want to spend a lot of time with research so I am curious what methods are being used to evaluate potential properties.

2025.02.02 01:40 HUNTnFISHr 2 Failed laminectomies, L5/S1 scheduled for RFA. Will it work? Desperateā¦
Iām supposed to go in for my very first appointment at the pain clinic that performs ablations. Iām a retired combat medic, just turned 40 and from my time in the military, my back has caught up with me. I started with initial treatments in 2019. MRI, scans confirmed herniated L5-S1, Degenerative Disc Disease etc. I started with physical therapy, that didnāt work, referred to another location for injections. That had temporary relief. But ultimately the pain came back. I was again referred to another clinic for surgery. I was told it was necessary to have a laminectomy. After surgery it was sore at first as expected and did get much better almost complete relief. But a coughing fit several months after caused me to blow that surgery, and experience my first bout of nerve/ sciatic pain post surgery. It got slightly better with time, only to re-injure it with the most subtle movement.
I returned for a 2 surgery/ revision may 2023 Iāve been mostly good, but again, early 2024, simply lifting the gas pump nozzle at the gas station, I could feel what felt like my back muscles separating like peeling a banana peel on the inside. (If that makes any sense) and instantly locked me up like a statue. For the last 6 months Iāve been going through the worst pain of my life.
Admittedly talking myself out of suicide sometimes, itās so bad. I do not do well with medications in general. I prefer zero pain meds because of the havoc the do to my body.
Iām a very very fit. Very in shape (usually when not bed ridden) extremely active, I own a farm and 50 acres to care for with my wife and kids and I can barely lift a gallon of milk without some of the worst shocking/ tasing feelings Iāve ever had.
So im looking for that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Is ablation the answer? Or am I setting myself up for a failure, or unrealistic expectations.
Iāve had a roadside bomb detonate 12 meters behind me. It was bad enough I ended up having brain surgery from it. None of that experience in combat was worse than this nerve pain. I feel like my entire right leg is slowly feeding into a rusty dull wood chipper. And itās never ending. Someone put my mind at ease that there is hope. And if ablation isnāt the answer for me, what is.
I still have 100% all of my muscle strength. I just want to disconnect whatever the wire is that tells my brain, Iām in pain. I feel like that is what an ablation isā¦

So my total cholesterol,LDL and non HDL are up. Iāve lost 34 lbs in between both labs being drawn. Iāve also been on maintenance now since 10/30 and have lost a few more lbs but have increased my calories and definitely have had more carbs and such but still not much sugar or fried foods.
Does cholesterol just jump around, could it have been something I ate the day before? I just donāt understand why itās up if my weight is lower than itās ever been.
Anyone else see cholesterol bounce up? Will it go back down?

2025.02.02 01:40 Euphoric_Craft_1977 8 week old is suddenly super fussy
My baby turned 8 weeks on Monday, and Tuesday he got his first round of vaccines. He was a little fussy afterward and had a slight fever, but mostly slept. Since then, he has become increasingly fussy at random times throughout the day. Prior to this, he was an extremely happy baby that rarely cried. He wouldnāt sleep well during the day and would go 3+ hours without a nap but never get fussy. Then after his next feed he would take a really good nap. Now, he will get extremely crabby and be impossible to get to sleep. Heāll also wake up from a short nap absolutely screaming. He typically eats every 3 hours, I thought maybe he was cluster feeding so would try feeding him whenever heād get super crabby, but it didnāt help. Iām able to soothe him and usually end up getting him to sleep, but it takes work. I donāt think heās in any type of pain, because once I soothe him heās perfectly fine. He did start getting a witching hour around 7 weeks, but now itās all throughout the day.
Everything else is still the same - heās going to the bathroom normally, eating normal, and still sleeps a 5+ hour stretch each night.
Has anyone experienced this? Iām really hoping itās just coincidence that it happened right after his shots and not a result of them. I did read that around this age is peak fussiness. My maternity leave is ending next week and I will be working from home and carrying for him by myself. Iām getting so anxious about it with how fussy he has been - if he was still acting how he has been up until this point it would be no issue.
Hoping for some reassurance or to hear if anyone has experienced something similar. I do plan to call his pediatrician on Monday just to be safe.
