Before I being feel free to tell me if you agree or disagree with me.
Now let's begin.
In the shows more particularly rtte, Hiccup has at least a few new differences between him and his movie version.
And those are he is significantly less witty, he is far more serious without ever really earning it, he is constantly challenged by Viggo and because of that he can be rather blind to quite obvious traps(there was even a whole episode about that), he is more lenient with Astrid often bending to her will, he is heroic right off the bat, he is limited in his smarts to make the plot worse, he is incredibly unware of Astrid's feelings for him, he has less of a bond with dragons and apparently can't train any dragon, and to top it off, the writers didn't handel him with the care needed to get his character just right now instead they just do whatever they want with him, he even disrespects Gustav and denied him being a rider despite being older than when he first started.
Now that I've boiled down what I don't like about rtte Hiccup, I now see why I like movie Hiccup so here more.
In the httyd 2 filmmakers commentary they explained the process of bringing Hiccup into it and growing it up.
And reading it, made me realise everything above, the httyd 2 team cared so, so much more than the rtte team.
Here it is for you all to read, afterwards I'll give you the short version:
Simon Otto: Yeah. And I get this process of bringing Hiccup from the first movie to the second movie. These were the first scenes we were animating, where we really had to act and bring that slight awkwardness that he had in the first movie. Also, some of the body language Jay Baruchel, the voice of the character, has in his performances and.. Cause we wanted to make sure he is aspirational and he's grown up and he's grown into his own body but at the same time he's still a little bit of a geek, he's still slightly awkward and dangaly, you know the ill-equiptness he had in the first movie is still mirrored in his behavior.
Dean DeBlois: Yeah, he's still not the Viking of brawn and muscle that his father may have hoped for early on. He's become a hero in his own way and an advanced thinker but he still compensates for his slight build, just being witty and intelligent. That's what's so likable about Hiccup.
Simon Otto: And it was a fine line to walk, you know. If we had made him too heroic and too muscular and strong and standing his ground right from the beginning, people would have had a hard time connecting with him and recognizing the character. And, it frankly would have been less endearing, less charming, and we're playing with this quite a bit in this scene all the way to the end of the movie. He definitely evolves and grows into his own and stands his ground more. The cadence of his acting calms down through the movie, and something you might not notice when you watch it, but you feel it as you're watching Hiccup become the Chief he needs to be.
Bonnie Arnold: I just remember the first tests we did when were not only using some new software for animation, but also testing Hiccup with all of his stuff, and one of our supervising animators, Fabio Linguini, who animated on Hiccup, did that test for us. It helped define it for us.
Simon Otto: It showed us for the first time, that test actually showed us the potential that our software has and also showed us how appealing Hiccup can be, and yet Hiccup was a very tricky character to animate because there's a lot of, like you can pull him off what felt like Hiccup very quickly and so we needed the real team of few animators that mostly stayed on Hiccup, really handled him in a particular way, found that right balance between nerdiness and more heroic aspiration.

2025.02.02 03:01 D_as_in_Bored Nemesis animations breaking and crashing on startup
I'm having a problem 😭😭. I have been struggling with my 150+ mod list for 5 days now and I was pretty successfull up until 1 day ago. Im running a Valhalla combat+precision+CGO+True directional movement with jumping behavior overhaul and it was going well. I even began playing my modlist and was having fun, until I decided to add IED (immersive equipment displays)with all the required mods for animations.Ofc I'm also running XPMSSE and all necessary mods for it to function. Long story short now when I try to run nemesis to patch all these animations and run through sske64 I crash on startup, just before the main menu was suppose to appear, I have no idea why, I tried cleaning plugins but I never got around to clean all of them and am afraid I'm not gonna achieve anything with cleaning them, I cleaned all possible inis in documents, local files, overwrite folder, reinstalling mods now I have created a nemesis output so I have more control over everything. I've not slept since or very little and have no idea what to do anymore, does anyone have any idea what could be the issue. I'm using Mo2 and I've been pretty carefull with my load order(at least for the important mods). I am willing to screenshot my setup and even conn on discord with anyone who is willing to lend a hand xD. Thanks either way God bless!

Was told to go in on Friday this week so I can talk to my manager about shifts because I have not been given any shifts for the past few weeks and was told nothing. Walked there and asked if she was there. I was told she was not there. I then asked them if they could grab my work shoes from the back cause I knew they had ordered me some and I had forgotten to grab the box when I was last there. They did not have them.

I've recently started setting up my R6ii for remote shooting for sports, but I'd like to get some cheaper cameras to have multiple angles.
Requirements:
- Manual focus
- Manual mode allowing aperture & shutter control
- Lens should be between 24-35mm FF-equivalent
- Support external triggering
- Fast burst mode (at least 12fps, preferably a lot more)
- Electronic shutter with minimal rolling shutter
- Large battery or support external power
- Small & light
- 1/4 inch screw slot or other mounting system
- Can disable screen/EVF to save battery
- Weather resistant but I'm realistic about this
- Good autofocus
- Fast aperture (will be shooting f/8 or f/11 most of the time)
I had hoped to pick up a low end modern mirrorless camera or P&S or an older DSLR, but the burst rate is a limitation with a lot of them.
I did search the sub for recommendations but most of the posts have different requirements
In terms of budget I'm willing to spend up to AU$500, but I was hoping to find something a lot cheaper because I think other than the burst rate I don't need anything high end.
Use case is mostly Flyball and a maybe other dog sports, I tried setting up my R6ii as a remote yesterday and I love the results, but I'd like to set up more cameras and also a bit worried about my R6 getting destroyed by a dog lol

I’m getting oddly low FPS at around 250 with my setup, I have a 9800X3D and a 4080 super. Some stutters also occur occasionally. My windows power plan is also set to performance, and game settings are all the highest they can go.

We have many that are broken, but are artifactual. We just keep them in a box. We could put them in a jar or something and put it out for decoration, but that seems kinda lame. Had a rough BP session the other day - whiffing or late on the ball even though launch and load felt on time, fouling straight back or hitting flares the other way and just generally feeling like I was over-swinging and not in control of my swing. Every so often it'll happen when I'm trying too hard to crush the ball or facing higher velo (that I'd otherwise be able to hit). I've heard the cues "stay within yourself" but I can have a hard time grasping the whole "slow is smooth, smooth is fast thing" while I'm in the moment and just wind up being more intense in my swing.
Anyone have any cues or routines that help them keeping the swing smooth and relaxed?
