2025.02.02 03:40 bigskymind Long term barefoot / minimal shoes wearer but now developing achilles tendonitis issues from over-use. Now what?
I've not worn traditional shoes for many years now (either going barefoot or wearing barefoot shoes) and am in the process of training for a 12 day hike in about 6 weeks time. I will probably wear Altra LonePeaks for that walk as I tend to do on longer multi-day hikes with a pack.
I've been training with a weighted 12kg pack either in barefoot or wearing Shamma sandals.
It would seem that I've overdone it as I am experiencing achilles tendon issues.
It's not sore as I walk but rather the foot and ankle in issue is rather stiff and immobile upon waking but quickly warms up as I move on it. If I sit back on my heels (as in seiza sitting posture) then it can feel uncomfortable.
I guess it's a matter of simply resting it at this point?

2025.02.02 03:40 veyatie Possible lost cat seen in Alexandria?
Any lost cats in the Old Town, Alexandria area? I was walking there around 8 pm this evening (see picture for the exact spot — the place where the P for parking is) and saw a tuxedo kitty without a collar trying to run across a very busy South Washington Street.
It tried this twice, cars whirring by, and nearly got hit the second time, but thankfully jumped back in time.
I went over to the alley where it had gone, because I thought this was really concerning (an outdoor cat should have known this part of its territory isn’t passable). It was extremely scared of me and ran away.
My instincts are saying that this is either an indoor cat that got out somehow, or a cat that simply shouldn’t be in this highly trafficked area. If kitty belongs to someone, hopefully they can head over there and get it!

I really enjoyed learning the composed parts to YEM and The Lizards intro. The classical/etudene-ness is what I liked about it. Really technical but very beautiful, especially on an acoustic.
Can anyone recommend any songs that are similar? Not limited to Phish. Hoping that I can play these recommendations with a pick. Have been looking into classical guitar songs, but many of those are finger style.

Not sure about base PS5 but my PRO why the hell are Ray Tracing/Resolution a combined option !? This forces a blurrier "upscaled to 4k" image if you want to play at 120fps.
And then they got 2 separate toggles for framerates with the "Prefer Framerate" and the 60fps or 120fps one, wtf polyphony?
On the couch it's not really noticeable, but when I'm in my cockpit with an OLED in front me you definitely notice the blurriness and especially the 120fps up close is an absolute must. Having the image refresh almost twice as fast when you're speeding around corners is a major difference.

I have been working on a complex coding project with a chat, I was about to get the final, polished, and completed version. Literally after weeks of work, told it to send it. That output hit the conversation length limit I'm the first like 5 sentences. It's all I need out of this chat.
Is there any way to lengthen that at all?? Can I ask OpenAI or has anyone found a way? I am a plus member. This is actually pretty devastating
I've tried going back to older comments and editing them to see if it remembers the final output and can send it, it says it does and goes to send it and hits the length limit there, even though it's 5 or so inputs earlier. Like... I just need it to be able to print out one more extended output...
