( I wrote this to explore the burden of choice and the torment of realizing there’s no turning back. It’s about the hopelessness that creeps in when the path you committed to feels meaningless, yet you’re forced to see it through. Even the end offers no relief—just the weight of everything that led you there)
Dead, the night silently drifted away, cries of the souls none could hear, bodies of the withered, scattered all around. The fire crackled, owls hooted, wolves feasted on the dead. There lay our soldier, drenched in blood— blood of the dead.
The soldier shook to his dreary core. Was this all real or delirium in his mind? That his path had no future, no fortune at heart? If so, then why? Was this the end to his plight? Long he stared at his shivering hands, empty. No victory, no purpose in sight—just blood, blood of the victims of his trials.
As the night stretched on, the darkness grew, the crackles of the flames dimmed down. Each breath he took felt heavier than the last. Alone, he lay bare to the consequences of his past. The cruelty of his war finally caught up, tearing away all the hope he could ever have. The night drifted to the end of the soldier’s meaningless path. A glimmer through the rising sun—he craved a final chance. Awaiting the end, he took his final breath, hoping that the end would engulf his pain. “Not yet,” even death laughed, leaving the soldier dreading his miserable life.

I'd just like to know of any parent or relative can relate to being mixed race technically but having a wide range of features within a family that get side eyed? Backstory: My sons mother has done a 23andme last year and since I already stalked this board I took the plunge a few months back. My sons mother is Dominican American (as I am). Her family is from the capital. Her results mirror mine loosely. We both have around 60 percent European. Our African differs significantly with mine up in the 30th range and hers down to 18%ish range. The rest of hers are mostly North African and Native. Well we haven't done any DNA testing on my son. We aren't together and that's as much as I know about her test results. Our son looks very white and at times it causes me some stress. If I'm alone with him, which is almost all of the time, and we are out and about people stare and ask me what background is his mom. They're shocked to hear she's also Dominican American. Strangers are always commenting on how he doesn't have my features but has my face and wonder if I have a white parent (as in straight from Europe). I'm not even sure how to identify my son or what to teach him about who and what he is. People at his school already refer to him as "blanquito" Advice? I just got back to using a Mac after 2 years of exclusively using Windows. When disabling unwanted output like built in monitor speakers or microphones from webcams it's hard to do in an easy process. I realized display scaling doesn't work unless you use a 3rd party app. As for disabling display I have dual display sometimes I just want to use another computer and disable one through software just like windows project feature but I only got 3rd party apps that I have to pay for. Is there any way to do these things easier or for free? Thank you

2025.02.02 04:40 cidulations I absolutely despise how they did what-if
The comics were way better, but the tried to merge it all into a storyline. They should have kept it how it was in the comics that would have been much more interesting. Not to mention they made Peggy the main character, despite the fact that she is the least interesting of any of the characters they used. I hate Peggy with a burning passion. Season 2 feels so cliche and predictable near the end, I'm usually not picky with shows or movies, but I enjoyed the what if comics, and the show just pissed me off.
