2024.11.24 20:31 Ant-Manthing Colonist Campaign Frame Help

I am a few sessions into a new Mothership campaign using the frame Colonist with an ensemble campaign style where my players have built several players that they will jump between. I am really loving the campaign so far and my players have had lots of fun going into extreme detail about the world and the different factions, religions and corporate interests involved in this colony generation ship over several session zero planning sessions. We are just towards the end of our introductory in media res opener of them playing a survey team checking out the prime colony world for a site for a space elevator and dealing with some un-friendly flora and fauna.
The issue I foresee is that the world we have built for ourselves is one where the colonists are mostly on their own and outside connections or new factions will be few and far between. Most of the published modules that I have been devouring have an assumed setting that you are sent on jobs or are interacting with other worlds or stations. I have introduced a weird warp vessel that appeared at the beginning of their first session (but they couldn't interact with it as they were already on a separate mission) to dangle the mystery of something outside the colony finding its way in but I don't want to go to that well too often. I want to balance the fear and tension of being colonists out on your own with the ability to use some of the incredible pre-written modules and not fall into the same type of missions that colonial / frontier life would bring up.
Has anyone done an off-world colonizer campaign? Do you have any advice on how to fit modules into that frame? Or a list of modules that already work with this campaign frame?

I took in two cats a month an a half ago. It always smells in the hall outside their room. We clean the litter 2x a day. Sweep twice a day. Mop once a week. Even when I have completely changed out the litter it smells. The smell doesn't smell like poop or pee, maybe more like food or something. Do cats just naturally smell? They are our first cats.

2024.11.24 20:31 ocsoo How do you think the Uranus/Neptune/Pluto vs. Healer/Maker fight would have gone down?

Assuming Seiya didn't interrupt, how do you think it would have gone down?
I feel like Healer and Maker's attacks hit harder than Uranus and Neptune's, but I'd imagine Pluto's the strongest of the five. Physically, I feel like Uranus is the fastest and strongest, but Maker and Healer probably outclass Neptune and Pluto.
Neptune and Pluto have more hax-y abilities, though, and Healer and Maker don't really have anything to deal with Uranus's Space Sword. They can dodge, but I highly doubt they could catch the blade like Galaxia did. Uranus is probably stronger, so she would probably just cleave straight through them if they tried.
Ultimately, I think the Outers win.

Some people in my family have recently passed but I saved this old harddirve from my mac (can't remember what year but could figure it out) What if I bought. a used one for cheap and installed it? 2024.11.24 20:31 photognerd Color Coding based on text in other cell

I have been using google sheets to try to track my chronic migraine. I have a form set up that feeds into the sheet.
The dream is to find a way to auto color code the dates on the calendar sheet. Yes, I can do it manually, but that will take forever once I make calendars for more than June (which is the only one I did for now, as I was try to make it work first).
What I'm trying to do is use the data in column C in the data sheet, to then color the day on the calendar on the next sheet.
I've tried using a vlookup + conditional formatting, and it only coloring one column on the calendar tab, not the whole sheet.
Can someone point me in the right direction here? Or is this just impossible?

This has blown up to a near fisticuffs level fight between my brother and I. Could use some reddit wisdom.
Background: Three years ago, I asked my family to help me with a travel-related goal, and now it’s caused an ongoing disagreement between my brother and me. I’m turning to Reddit to help settle this neutrally.
I travel frequently for work and have high status with a major hotel chain. A few years ago, I asked my family to use my hotel loyalty account when booking travel to help me accumulate enough points to reach the next status tier. While my family tried to help, we didn’t hit the goal. However, my brother contributed to the effort, and since then, he’s continued to use my account for his occasional work trips (about 5–7 nights per year).
Because of my status, he gets perks like access to lounges, free breakfast, drink vouchers, room upgrades, and more. Obviously, which hotels are chosen determines which perks one would get. He wouldn’t qualify for these on his own since he doesn’t travel enough to build his own status, so it’s been a win-win situation in terms of benefits for him.
The issue is about the hotel points earned on his stays over the last three years. When my brother books through my account, I earn both base points (what he would’ve earned booking himself) and bonus points (a 75% bonus that comes with my status). My brother feels he’s entitled to at least the base points, and possibly more, from his stays.
Here’s where I’m conflicted:

But on the flip side, managing his bookings and ensuring everything worked smoothly has taken time and effort on my part. I’ve also avoided this conversation for the last three years, which probably hasn’t helped things.
My brother accuses me of “upselling” him to book certain hotels just so I could benefit, which I never did… was just reading the results from a search. I see the situation differently: he’s gained access to perks he wouldn’t otherwise have.
Now the fight has come to a head, and we’re trying to figure out what’s fair. There are three potential resolutions I see:
  1. I give him the base points he would’ve earned on his own.
  2. I give him the base points plus 50% of the bonus points.
  3. I give him all the points (base + bonus) earned on his stays.
I’m prepared to go with the majority opinion here (within reason), but I’m struggling to figure out what’s fair for both of us. So, AITA for keeping the points and not sharing them with him? Should I have proactively shared the points over the last three years, or is this a fair arrangement given the perks he’s received?
P.s. when should any agreed to transfer occur? I know he has a trip planned for the Holidays, but my intention is to not transfer any points until after the holiday… End of year true up structure.
(personal frustration: during the times I’ve helped him book he will often accuse me of trying to upcharge him or push him to select a more expensive hotel to gain more points for me. Going as far to accuse me of scamming him. Offensive.)

Match ups Since we are having a long break this time,and now that we have all the players on the stage, I'm interested in knowing your current match ups of the arc weather it's backed by actual narrative or simply a fight you wish to happen. for me I'll start with the obvious ones
Serie vs lowe, not sure if he will succeed but he have all the hype backing him, having killed minus atleast a Frieren tier great mage elf 20 years ago,and recently wherlos saying he is far stronger than him these days. Gorilla vs sein +some one to help (most likely stark) Since i don't think sein alone can beat him.
Now for the speculations. (note:the special magic forces may be involved in any of these fights but its hard to predict where they appear so).
Frieren vs wherlos they already know each other from the days of the hero's party and i think he is the only one that can go solo against her.
Schritt vs ubel no reason i just want that. Though i think her and land will be more involved the the special magic forces.
Gazelle + iris + wolf vs sense+ falsch.
Schritt + wolf vs fern + stark.
Serie + frieren vs lowe??
Frase is a wild card strong enough to make macht wary of her and that was 50 years ago i cant imagine how strong she is now. so she may be in the lowe serie fight or frieren wherlos fight not sure regardless it will be fun.
This is nothing final and not all characters are included because i have no idea what they will do so i won't get sad if none of these happens (maybe a little). just think of it as a fun little activity to help us get through this break.

Has anyone here ever tried Antabuse?
If so what was your experience like?
I have an appointment with my doctor tomorrow and I want to talk about that. I've been fighting this long time and did one stint in rehab a couple years ago.
I've been researching it quite a bit and it seems like the people who don't like it feel that way because you can get around it by simply not taking it. I'm really interested in this though because if I am able to take it in the morning, that's when I am my strongest. I have no doubt that I'd want to take it.
If got to that 5 PM mark, knowing that if I have even a sip of a drink, I'll be very sick I feel like that would make that decision a lot easier. My brain wouldn't be able to tell me that you'll just have one or two and it would be a lot more black and white.
Would love to hear what others have found.
