2024.11.24 22:49 ok-maker Kenmore pro oven not heating to selected temp.

I have a Kenmore pro wall dual oven model 790.42003. The bottom oven seems fine but the top oven does not heat to the selected temp. For example the knob is turned to 375 bake, but the dial on the front of the oven shows 350 and a oven thermometer inside the oven shows 300. It thinks it’s at temp and stopped preheating.
I’ve been reading in the manual about “adjusting oven temperature” (holding conv convert and the. Pressing the up or down arrows) but I’m nervous I’ll make the oven even harder to calibrate! Is this advice in the manual really the thing to do?
I’d very much appreciate any expert advice!

Wholly Wholesome pie crust vs King Arthur GF pie crust from scratch Hey everyone! I recently made pumpkin pies using pre-made Wholly Wholesome GF crust, and King Arthur’s GF pie crust from scratch.
Wholly Wholesome I did not blind bake or pre-bake. I let it thaw for 20 minutes, used my finger to glue any cracks back together, then poured the filling in and popped it in the oven for 50-60 minutes. The crust came out perfectly. Browned, but not too brown (any longer than 60 minutes at 350 degrees, and it might brown too much) and fully cooked through. The crust was impressive taste-wise. Texture was minimally sandy, not too dry, and a little bit flakey even! The slices came out 90% whole (minimal crumbling), you just have to work a fork really well under the slice to unstick.
I had leftover filling, so I whipped up some crust from scratch, using King Arthur 1:1 and also KA’s recipe. I omitted the Instant Clear Gel because I didn’t have it on hand. The crust was workable like a real dough! I popped it in the fridge for an hour or so, then let it sit at room temp for 10-15 min before rolling it out. It rolled out really well. I did have to make covers for the crust with foil which was a little annoying and felt like extra work. Popped these little guys in the oven, removed the foil crust coverings 10 min before removing the pie, and they looked great. Taste wise, the KA recipe was a little more savory. The crust was a little more dense. It didn’t crumble at all, held together really well. No sandy texture or dry texture. It’s a solid choice for sure.
Overall, I preferred the Wholly Wholesome GF pie crust! For its ease and also for its taste/texture. Hope this helps, as we head toward the holidays!

Happy Sunday, all!!! 🥰 I have so much admiration and respect for all of you who post on here as you look fantastic, and so I’m hoping to solicit some input from you. Have you always had good self esteem, confidence, and image when it comes to your femme self, so to speak? Or how did you get there? For context, I’m a 6ft8 cis-male who is pretty thin in the legs and arms but has a big belly and is bald and has shit self esteem and image. I’ve also got a pretty prominent nose and side profile that I think makes me look weird as hell, and, judging by comments that I get randomly from people, apparently they all think so too. I’ve been trying to cope with the Allie side of me off and on again for at least the past 25 years if not longer and can never come fully to terms with it as I get super self conscious about how I look in anything feminine and end up purging all of my stuff. I figure that if I look weird as a “guy” then I probably look even weirder as a female and beat myself up as a result. How did you get to a point of accepting yourself? Or did you?
