As a Grappling alternative, DMG2014 has rules in the DMs Tool Kit (Ch9:pg271) for Climbing onto a Bigger Creature that involve treating the aforementioned Bigger Creature as Difficult Terrain for movement purposes then making opposed Acrobatics checks for the attacker to cling to the Bigger Creature's back and gain advantage on attack rolls. I can't seem to find this equivalent in the DMG2024 beyond the part about treating the Bigger Creature as difficult terrain for Movement purposes (PHB2024 Ch1;pg25).
While I'm sure the old optional rule works at a DND2024 table, it'd be reassuring to know if there was any similar DND2024 verbiage that I missed describing this action.
I used it to put down many an Ankheg as a Swords Bard, Ankheg Rodeo!

When Nessarose tells Elphaba that Boq asked her out and gives Galinda all of the credit, doesn’t Elphaba realize what happened? It’s a very Regina George move, isn’t it? Then why does she tell Morrible to include Galinda in the sorcery training? Is it to “keep her enemies close” in a way? So she stays away from her sister? Am I missing something?!

2024.11.25 00:20 Exciting-Many-709 My first was like R, my second was...not. (Plus, the ads!)

My first baby was a lot like R, very advanced for his age, polite, talking very early, etc. Like R, repeated a lot and learned to say things like "please" and "thank you" early on, and had adults fawning all over him because of how sweet he was so young. I thought I was a great mom because clearly I was doing something right - look at my kid! When it was just him, I wanted to have 20 more. I didn't understand why other parents struggled so much with their babies, and I truly thought I was a super-parent.
Then my second came along and...wow was I humbled. He met his milestones at a very different, overall more average pace - he walked a lot earlier, for example, but talking and communicating was much later than my first. He cried a lot more, and also because he couldn't express himself and also didn't really understand us either, and also didn't have much of an interest in learning or repeating words or phrases until he was about 3 - 1.5 years later than my first. He was much more like other kids than my first was. It made me realize I wasn't a great parent inherently, I had a very easy first baby. They're both fantastic kids, they just had very different baby/toddler years. And R and my first are definitely exceptions.
I genuinely think this second baby might be a wake-up call, or at the very least a shock to A + B, because they in fact AREN'T good parents (even based solely on the fact that they exploit tf out of their kid), they just got very lucky. If this second baby *slightly* doesn't live up to the expectations they - or the FANS - have of what it should act like, things could go south for them. I really worry for baby #2, having to live in your brother's shadow while also being responsible for your parents' finances, while also being a BABY, and having millions of insane fans literally fantasizing about kidnapping you - it's literally child abuse. Both of these children are being abused, IMO. I do think this next baby isn't going to be the cash cow they hope it'll be, because I really doubt they'll be able to create another R. Now that R is also getting older, he's losing some of that appeal anyway.
Not to mention how every video is an ad now! I check back once in a while (I used to be a fan until I came to my senses and saw fan account after fan account after fan account for a BABY, and all those crazy comments), and I don't understand how her fans are so cool with it. Literally every video is an ad for something new, and each feels as inorganic as the last. I see comments on her ad videos saying something like "what are we selling today?" and "another day, another ad" and things like that but they get deleted pretty quickly.
I assume most people on this sub are younger, so I thought I'd share from a parent's perspective. I really think their best days are behind them. And I hope these kids can be protected in some way in the future.
