If the “spot” is determined by the position of the ball when the runner is downed, why doesn’t each team just go hire some 7 1/2 ft tall guy to bring in for “x and inches” plays, direct snap to him, have him hold the ball with two hands way over his head, then lean forward and drop to a knee and get touched? That would almost certainly net the inches needed for the 1st down/touchdown or whatever.

We’ve had a new rug for a month and we’re struggling to get our cat to stop scratching it. We had it covered with blankets and tried redirecting him to his other scratchers. He has a tower two other scratching devices near the rug and a piece of carpet he can scratch nearby but he just loves the new rug. Overall he’s an easy cat to train, does tricks, is harness trained, and mostly listens to directions but we can’t get him to stop scratching this new rug. Help!

Hello all.
I am an admin in a childcare program. I have one boss above me at my site, I’m the “second in command”.
I’ve been at this job for a few months now, and am supposed to operate as a team with my on-site boss to promote the program.
The problem is she is NEVER there. Since starting, the longest we’ve ever worked together is 3 days in a row (my first week). Beyond that, she may be there 2 times throughout the week. The rest of the time she’s out of the office (sick, kids are sick, this, that or something else).
I’m an independent worker, but there are some duties I just cannot do on my own, “big picture” items. Due to her lack of attendance, I’m doing her job as well as my own and have minimal training for this position.
She did hire a teacher who has even worse attendance than she does. The new teacher has been there about a month, and worked 7 out of her 20+ scheduled days. Due to this staffing situation, I am also subbing for the teacher. I have explained to my on-site boss that the new teacher needs let go, as it is further affecting my abilities to do my own job.
Since my boss is not there herself, she doesn’t deal with the repercussions of the no-call, no-show teacher, and has decided to keep her. Very frustrating.
It came to a head on Friday, when my boss left early to go out with someone from another site. The teacher called off, and I had another teacher (a wonderful one) who had already scheduled the day off. I operated with half the staffing I should have, while doing the job of my boss, the absent teacher, and trying to do my own.
I’m getting burnt out, and quickly. We are salaried employees, and my on-site boss fudges the logs to look like she’s there when she’s not, from what I understand. Makes sense, as no business would keep someone with these attendance records. I’m at my breaking point, and either need to leave, or go above her head. She is well established in the company, so I fear this would be a losing battle. My other option is to drop down to a teaching position, which pays about half of my admin pay. If I report this, I don’t know the office politics well enough to know if I’d be the one getting let go or not. I’d like to think my work speaks for itself. To make it clear, I do NOT want her position, or to advance in my career here. I’m currently in school, and this job works with my schedule. I fear any complaints against her may look like I am trying to rise in rank, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. I just want a boss who won’t affect my job duties. Any advice?
I’ve had rough bosses before, but I’ve never had a boss who just isn’t there. I’m lost how to deal with it. My good teachers in the program are getting frustrated as well, as they do not have the support they should. Students are confused due to having to continually switch classes around. It’s a mess.

Hi, everyone. I'm new to the group, looking for advice. I've been off of 300mg/day Gabapentin for 21 days. I only took that dose for three weeks which I was prescribed for some nerve pain in my arm. I was not advised to taper off and learned all about that after the fact, unfortunately, so here we are. As of now, I've already been through the insomnia, muscle twitching, tingling, and itching withdrawal symptoms from the getgo. Now, I've been experiencing nerve pain in my hands and feet (a little bit in forearms and calves as well) intermittently throughout the day since about day 14 off of it. Is this a normal withdrawal symptom? Anyone else experienced this? If so, how long did it last? Does anyone have any recommendations to help with withdrawal symptoms? Thanks.
