As a drummer who wants to expand their vocabulary on the kit, I’m curious what are some common things to find in each genre?
For example: Gospel is often very chop heavy, they love full band shots
CCM is all Tom grooves, low tuned snares
Metal you find double kick patterns, high usage of the bell, high tuned snares
Disco is often offbeat grooves. Lots of hihat work.
I just want to understand basic expectations from a drummer in common genres.

The obvious causes were a very wet summer, a huge crop of apples, and high winds. We picked all the apples, soaked the ground, and have winched the tree upright. However, I now realize there used to be a very large tree just next to where the apple. It's stump was ground out about 5 years ago, and now there's a depression in the lawn next to the apple. Hi, I'm currently studying for IELTS, and my test is in 3 weeks but the week before it is my school New Year party. Since we don't have prom, it is the same deal as prom. So... I don't know if I should attend or not. The reasons I'm hesitating are
-I'm kind of unfamiliar with this school and children since I transferred here in September
-it will be quite expensive, especially since I already spent so much money on the test and course for IELTS and I feel guilty about asking for money again from my parents
-lastly, I'm still anxious about my test. I feel like I need to study more instead of attending the party.
Even so i want to attend but at the same time i'm not. What should I do??? Please help me to decide!!

Hey all, i'm looking to apply to Penn State (Main Campus) as my target school. I had a 3.2 unweighted GPA and a 3.5 weighted going into junior year of High School. I'm from a mid-income white urban family, and I have a ton of extra curriculars under my belt (Leader of my Acapella Group, Lead in Musical, All-State Choirs, baseball), and attend the most academically rigorous school in Pennsylvania, top 10 in the nation at least. I'm starting to right the ship with my first quarter earning all As in my AP classes and high Bs minimum in everything else. I've been super worried and down on myself for my performance these last two years, and am really hoping that my efforts this year won't be in vain. Being in a super rigorous environment where my peers are all Ivy prospects is giving me a warped perception of my chances at moderatley selective schools. Hoping for a minimum 1330 on my SAT, and applying as early as possible to Penn State's rolling admissions. What are my chances? And any advice? I still have a lot of time for interships / programs and things of the sort.
