In 2021, AP government signed 7 GW of solar energy PSA with SECI. This contract is to buy power at fixed rate of Rs. 2.49/unit for 25 years. This type of fixed rate charging is a concept called "levellized tariff".
How much units will this agreement will buy????
For the estimation I took 1GW Kurnool Ultra Mega Solar Park as case study.
Now let's Math,
On a sunny day, 1GW kurnool solar farm can generate 8 million units.
-- 8 million units per day
Assume we have 300 sunny days per year, 300×8 million units
-- 2.4 billion units per year per 1GW
Multiply with 7, as contract is for 7GW
-- ~ 17 billion units per year per 7GW
Multiply with 25, this contract duration is for 25 years.
-- ~ 42500 crores of units.
It is said that market for PPA is Rs. 1.99/unit at that time. So, we bought the PPA contract at Rs. 0.5 higher than market price.
So, total loss for AP people is
-- 42500×0.5 = Rs. 21,250 crores.
Clearly, no media is explaining the depth of the case. AP people paying this money from their own pockets.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said efforts are being made to ensure that Odisha is counted among the powerful, prosperous and rapidly advancing states, when it celebrates its centenary year of statehood in 2036.
Attending the valedictory function of the three-day Odisha Parba 2024 in New Delhi, the PM said by utilising the potential of Odisha in the right direction, it can be taken to new heights of development, adding that it can benefit from its strategic location with easier access to domestic and international markets.
"Odisha was an important hub of trade for East and South East Asia. Odisha's importance in global value chains will further increase in the times to come. Govt is also working on the goal of increasing exports from the state," Modi said.
"Our effort is to make Odisha one of the preferred places for investors. Our govt is committed to promoting ease of doing business in Odisha. Through Utkarsh Odisha, investment is being increased. Within the first 100 days of the new govt, investments worth Rs 45,000 crore were approved. Today, Odisha has both a vision and a road map for more investment and employment opportunities," said Modi, congratulating CM Mohan Majhi and his team.
Modi said Odisha has immense potential for port-based industrial development, and trade will be promoted by developing ports at Dhamra, Gopalpur, Astaranga, Palur and Subarnarekha.
Odisha, being the mining and metal powerhouse of India, Modi said focusing on its position in the steel, aluminium and energy sectors, new avenues of prosperity can be opened. He outlined plans to enhance the export of products like turmeric, cashew, jute, cotton, oilseeds and seafood and branding them for global markets.
"There was a time when the eastern part of India, including Odisha, was considered backward. But I consider the eastern part of India to be the growth engine of the country's development. Now, Odisha is getting three times more Budget outlay than 10 years ago. This year, 30% more Budget outlay was given for the development of Odisha compared to last year. Our vision is to make Odisha a strong, prosperous and fast-growing state," he added.
Odisha, being a land of immense possibilities in terms of tourism and urbanisation, Modi said there is a need to work across multiple dimensions to implement them on the ground. "Govt is committed to building a large number of dynamic and well-connected cities and creating new possibilities in Tier II cities, especially in the districts of western Odisha, where the development of new infrastructure can lead to the creation of new opportunities," he said.
The PM emphasised that there is a need to undertake more innovative steps to tell the world about Odisha's identity. He said ‘Bali Yatra Day' can be declared and celebrated to make Bali Yatra more popular and promote it on the international platform. Similarly, he proposed celebrating ‘Odissi Day' for Odissi dance, which could also be explored along with days to celebrate tribal heritages.
He hailed Odisha as the ‘abode of saints and scholars', lauding its contribution to Indian culture and history. He paid tributes to luminaries and said the state's spiritual ethos reinforces the principles of inclusivity and resilience. He quoted Saint Poet Bhima Bhoi, saying, "Let my life fall into hell, but let the world be saved."
PM Modi also acknowledged President Droupadi Murmu for her role in inspiring welfare schemes for tribal communities. He also highlighted the Subhadra Yojana, aimed at empowering women in Odisha by providing financial assistance. "Odisha will progress only when its women progress," he said.

This a crazy one.
My common law partner had a common law partner. They dated from 1994 to 2006. They shared no children. He purchased and built a home all in his name in 2003. He contributed to the mortgage and property taxes 100%.When their relationship ended she refused to move out and he still continued to pay the mortgage and property taxes. In 2012-2014 she filed a claim for the “matrimonial” home in which the judge dismissed her case stating she has no legal rights to the home. She still refused to leave. Financially he wasn’t able to afford more lawyer fees and kept paying the mortgage. He has been married and (almost) divorced since and has been in a common law relationship with me for 10 years where we share a child together. After this extra mortgage payment has finally caught up to us and we are drowning in debt he went to her again asking her to leave and she refused unless he gave her 250k or signed the house over to her to avoid capital gains and she would give him 250k . He obviously said no and we finally scrounged up enough money to get a lawyer to have her evicted. She was given 45 days and suppose to be moved out by oct 31. She hasn’t moved out and changed lawyers and is now claiming he verbally agreed to give her half of the home (which is not true) He had even explained to her that there is no equity in the home and she said that’s not her problem. I’m wonder what the chances of a judge actually granting her anything. Especially after the judge dismissing the case originally in 2014 and her still refusing to leave. Do I have any rights to this home? Does our child? We don’t want to sell immediately due to the capital gains and we don’t know what kind of repairs or updating it would need and we would like to consider moving into it.

This is what my prototypical salad looks like. I always order thru the app for pickup and I have rarely ever been given what I haven’t found to be fair value.
I always order chicken, rice, mixed beans, corn, veggies, extra sour cream, extra cheese, salsa, tomatillo red with the honey vinaigrette and lettuce. It costs depending on the location like $8.95-$9.50 with tax like right around $10.
95% of the time the bowl looks like this. I order from multiple different locations, different days, different times.
All these people complaining about skimping/overpriced, you are just honestly ordering incorrectly. If you go to a McDonalds order a Big Mac but without any buns, lettuce, cheese and onions; and you are disappointed that you get two beef patties and some pickles that’s on you.
The add ons in chipotle are too me overpriced, same with many of the other meat options. But the basic chicken bowl with basically everything without up charges is a significant portion/calories for basically $10.
Honestly chipotle is basically the cheapest fast food place now. Taco Bell, a supreme taco is like $3. So 3 tacos (~600 calories) or I’m estimating I believe 1200-1400 calorie bowl, with more nutritional value. A Big Mac is like $6ish and about 600 calories, most of which is processed bread. Chick fil a, most of the chicken sandwich are $6-7 and again not representing caloric bang for the buck. Wendy’s can sometimes be a little cheaper but still considering a lot of the calories are processed bread, and you are still gonna be spending prolly $5-6 for like a Dave’s double.
I just feel like this sub has gone overboard, like if you aren’t gonna get the majority of the fixings then yeah your bowl is gonna be light, so then maybe go somewhere else. But honestly with inflation chipotle is one of the healthier fast foods and has solid bang for the buck if ordered in a certain manner

2024.11.25 05:39 improbsable The trope of “it was all in this character’s head” makes every movie or show worse, even if we know about it from the beginning
I don’t care if they show the kid imagining the story in the beginning of the film. It makes everything worse knowing that the characters are just in another character’s head. We’re already watching an imaginary scenario. We don’t need to be seeing it from another imaginary person’s perspective.
At worst, you find out about it as a twist at the end of a movie, and you leave the theater feeling like you’ve been swindled. And at best, they use it as a storytelling device and you think to yourself “guess these stakes don’t matter” the entire time. If the characters aren’t real even in the context of their own film, I don’t need to care about them.
