It's come to my attention that I have the worst case of white room syndrome known to man.
(For those that don't know: white room syndrome refers to a lack of description in writing, particularly when it comes to the setting(s) of the story.)
I've always struggled with not knowing how and when to use description. I don't find it easy to describe mundane, everyday settings (Everyone knows what a kitchen is! There's nothing to say!) and I find it even more difficult to describe things that are novel or imaginary (How on earth am I supposed to describe something I've never (or hardly) experienced).
I also suffer from not knowing when something needs to be described. As a reader, descriptions that last longer than a sentence bore me, as does superfluous detail. I have aphantsia so I can't picture things in my mind the way other people can.
I tend to write in a way that focuses on dialogue and character's inner monologues/emotions. But I think my lack of description makes my writing less immersive for the average reader. Still, my attempts to add description always seem to fall flat.
How can I overcome this?

 | Hey all - 25 year old male with pretty severe health anxiety that was sort of "doom scrolling" through my blood tests and noticed this — never been discussed with a doctor before: I don't have any symptoms per say. I have some other issues that I wouldn't assume are related (muscle fasiculations all over body, dry eyes/dry mouth). Only semi-diagnosed issue is high blood pressure - which I currently don't manage because we are unsure of the baseline due to anxiety. I've done some quick research on symrpons and I don't seem to have any of the major symptoms, a few crossover things like l've been more prone to headaches since I was a very young child and once in a blue moon my legs will get itchy after standing in the shower for awhile — but that's not consistent, and seems to me to be more of a correlation based off the random symptom I read and I’m mentioning it here rather than anything noteworthy. My real concern is the seemingly slight increase year over year in hemoglobin/RBC(RBC did go down from 2020 to 2021 slightly and then back up). Might be worth mentioning I am a vegetarian, not sure how that would effect it, if at all — I have never consumed meat in my life. Again, these tests are from age 19/20 to now at 25. I hoping you guys can ease my mind that I’m just overanalyzing my blood tests. Attached is all results over the past half-decade. Thank you! NOTE: ref range for RBC says 4.5-5.9, but it’s actually 4.5-6.0. Some other labs says 6.1. Mine says 6.0. It was a typo. Hey parents,
My 2-year-old toddler has completely fallen in love with trampolines. We've been to a few playparks/pubs with them and she won't leave! We're thinking of getting one for the backyard, but I'm torn between the standard spring ones (Jumpflex or others) and the Springfree brand.
Has anyone had experience with either? Is the Springfree really worth the extra cost? We have a decent-sized yard, so I'm leaning towards a larger size for the long term but still thinking about it.
Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
