Hi, I was looking for the proper usage of the word 'latest' in the reference of deadline. 1. I have to wake up tomorrow by 7 a.m. at the latest. 2. I have to wake up tomorrow at the latest by 7 a.m. 3. I have to wake up at the latest by 7 a.m. tomorrow. 4. I have to wake up latest by 7 a.m... Future perfect:” I will have finished my work by next Friday”. (1 st example) Future: “I will finish my work by next Friday. (2 nd example) I saw the usage of ‘by’ in the future perfect tense from the above source. Can I use ‘by’ for future tense also? (2 nd example). Please share your opinions. Thanks in advance. B: Yes, I do. But I play it only on weekends. I'm busy from Monday to Friday. My question is, 1. Is the last phrase "from Monday to Friday" correct? 2. Is "from Mondays to Fridays" also correct? 3. If we are talking about a habit. Does it have to be "from Mondays to Fridays," just like we say "on weekends"? Thanks. “next next Friday" or "Friday after next"? I find a movie is named "Friday after Next". But I doubt if this expression is standard and widely accepted in the English world. The situation occurred when I want to write an email to my tutor to express something like this: "If possible, I hope the recommendation letter can be finished before next ... I don't ever remember seeing 'R' used as an abbreviation for Thursday. Single letter abbreviations are very uncommon, but the few places i've seen them, have only used Monday thru Friday, thus excluding the weekend days. In those instances, i have seen both 'M T W T F' and 'M T W H F' in use. Context: Today is Friday, and we have a meeting on Saturday, the next day. For any reasons, the meeting on Saturday cannot be done and no one knows what it wll be the day. Sentences: 1. We should postpone the meeting for the next week 2. We should postpone the meeting to the next week 3. We should postpone the meeting until the next week Thanks ... I learnt that with afternoon we use the preposition "in", but I've just found a text with this example ... "On the afternoon of that day" where ON is used instead of IN... Is that because of the word DAY? Are the terms "This Friday" or "This coming Friday" or "Coming Friday correct? For example can I say "I will go there on this Thursday" or "I will meet her on coming Saturday"? Hello everyone, I'd like to know if the phrasal verb "make up" sounds correct/idiomatic in the contexts below. If not, what would you suggest? Please take a look. 1. If you miss a class the teacher will make it up for you. [= the teacher will teach you the class you missed at another time.]... Hello, I've been playing the digimon tcg for a bit now, pretty much only on online sims since there is no local scene for digimon where I live. With the release of this latest set, the game just isn't feeling that fun anymore. It's either super fast decks that can end the game in a turn or two or set up a nearly impossible to break boardstate. Maybe it's just me being a negative nancy, but the power level now feels too power crept. Anyone else feeling this way?
