You have 10 minutes to make this decision once the timer is up you including your family will die. For those that dont know in the movie Alien this creature known as the face hugger latches onto Kane's face and after a while lays an egg/embryo in his body, as time goes on the embryo gets larger and larger until it bursts out of Kane's chest in a dramatic scene at the dinner table. If you choose the Alien choice you cannot back out of it and you are conscious throughout most of the process, even when the seed goes down your throat up until the alien bursts out of your chest. It goes without saying that ultimately you won't live, but your entire family will. Are you brave enough to do it?
P.S. I ask because I thought of this scenario and call me a coward but I don't think I can do it ughhh I cant imagine going through all that

So, I'm looking for a job. I found an offer that interested me so I clicked apply. Was taken to the company's website where I had to create an account, filling a lot of info. Afterwards, to apply to the actual job, I had to fill another online document with info I had given before for the account.
Days later, I get the call. Of course I wanna go to the interview. I get there and they hand me some papers... The same shit I had filed online... Then in the actual interview, I have to endure the lady being unprofessionally flirtatious.
All that so today (4 days later) I can get an email saying I was not selected. Sigh

Hello, I am a student from Thailand currently conducting research on settlement. I aim to compare the consolidation settlement values calculated using textbook equations with the values obtained from the PLAXIS 2D software. I have tried numerous times, but the results from the software are always significantly lower—about ten times less—than those calculated using the equations. I have adjusted the boundary conditions in the model and experimented with different models, such as the MC model, Soft Soil model, and Soft Soil Creep model, but the results still do not match the calculated values. What should I do to resolve this issue?

The photo attached above is called a flexpipe, Mesh grill on it has become loose and its making ratting noises at low speeds its not loud but its annoying. I checked at exhaust shops theyre saying 600-800AED To replace it. Any ideas or DIY to fix it. Its just the mesh grill which surrounds the pipe has become loose and rattles any high temp tape or tic weld can help it. Please update if anyone has the same problem

Hopefully, Platinum isn't far ahead. Compared to silver, I finally got the crack for instant DP and now I can do it somewhat consistently. The things I'm planning to work on how are throw techs (I never did them on purpose so far) and drive rush (again, I forget it exists unless my opponent uses it).
Maybe I'll also try a new character. JP has been an annoying POS online and in world tour with his full screen mixups, which is up my alley.

I recently graduated high school, and there’s this girl I really like. We didn’t talk much during school, but I always thought she was really pretty. At my friend’s 18th birthday party, my friend told her that I liked her.
Later that night, she came over to me while we were sitting by the fire, put her arm around me, and gave me a drink. We shared a couple cigarettes, and we started talking. She asked me about my ambitions, my birthday, and my favorite things. She even mentioned that I’d lost weight but said I looked good before too.
We got closer as the night went on—snuggling, chatting, and even dancing together. We even kissed twice. After that, we didn’t leave each other’s side for the rest of the night. She was all over me, kissing my neck and cheek, running her hands through my hair and grazing her hands around my body. Throughout the night she kept reminding her to text her the next morning and demanding me to take her out.
Things seemed perfect, and I texted her the next morning organising mini-golfing for our first date. But then she told me that she doesn’t feel ready to start a relationship because she’s still getting over someone else. She apologized for her actions at the party, saying she wasn’t thinking about the consequences, and added that I’m a nice person, but now just isn’t the right time.
I’m pretty upset because I like her so much, and she’s honestly one of the prettiest and nicest people I’ve ever met. Do you think I still have a shot with her in the future? Or should I just move on?

AITA for stopping my brother’s family from coming to Christmas over a ‘joke.’
Burner account as some of my family uses reddit.
For a bit of context me (31M) and my wife (31f) usually host Christmases. my mom, dad and brother (37M) who I’ll call Alex and his to kids Sarah (11F) and Jack (9M) his wife died in February 2023.
I also have children,Sammy (4M) and Adam. (6M) Anyway. Last Christmas was my brother’s family’s first Christmas without their mother. Although his kids, specifically Sarah were a bit rude and not participating in any of our usual activities we all understood given the situation. My brother mostly left us babysitting whilst he had naps or drunk. we were hosting for two weeks.
Although looking after four kids was getting exhausting my mom asked us to be patient and we agreed to continue as they weren’t being outright mean to us or, more importantly, our kids, just a bit standoffish. However, that all ended on Christmas Eve.
Sammy’s favourite activity has always been leaving cookies out for Santa and in general both my kids love hearing about him.
However once we put the cookies and milk out Jack went to grab one. When Sammy got upset Adam came over and told him he couldn’t have any because they were for Santa. Jack didn’t listen and ate it. That pushed Sammy over the edge and he started to cry. At this point I come over and before I could ask what was going on. Sarah from the doorway said, “Why are you crying? Santa isn’t real.”
Jack then agreed with her and called Sammy an idiot. At that point, seeing my brother just watching I had enough and told him to take his kids and get out whilst my wife took our kids away from his and comforted them.
My brother got angry and said I was being sensitive. That my kids would find out eventually anyway and that I was being selfish not thinking about what his kids were going through. I still made him leave.
Back to current day. My brother never apologised, but things did tide over. My kids are alright and me and my wife told them that Santa was real. But some people don’t believe in him, and we’ve had visits from and to my brother since then.
His kids still seem a bit rude and I haven’t heard from him that he’s taken them or himself to any kind of therapy. But we’ve decided to continue contact within caution. However. This week in our family GC someone mentioned Christmas plans and I said we’d be happy to host again this year. My brother sent a text saying “As long as your kids are less sensitive we’ll be there.” With a laughing emoji.
Wife and I Agreed it would be better if he didn’t come if he thought that situation was worth laughing over. So I replied, “In that case, it’s best you stay at home.” Now my brother is calling me an asshole and saying it was only a joke and that his kids need this. My dad is siding with him, my mom understands why me and my wife blocked him from coming but has asked if we’ll reconsider. She said what happened didn’t have any lasting consequences and his kids were in pain so we should be able to laugh. AITA?

My car was backed into at 20MPH on 11/22 around 9:30PM the other party did drove off from the scene and my car needs to be fixed and I live paycheck to paycheck and don’t have the $ to pay my deductible (300) and I am afraid if I use my insurance company (Farmers) to cover the repairs I will be forced to find a new insurance company as in the past year I have had my back window shot out by a BB gun on 11/22/23 ironically and in March of this year I had the same thing happen with someone backing into my car and driving away from the scene the 2 previous incidents were on a 2006 4Runner while the most recent one was on a 2015 4Runner with 86,800 miles am I screwed in this situation? Thanks in advance and it also looks like I have slight frame damage but not certain about that either
