I am planning a medical conference for Jan. 14-19, 2026 in Puerto Rico where there will be approximately 125 attendees. I need a large meeting space, at least two breakout rooms, and space for an exhibit hall and registeration area. Food and beverage service will include breakfast, lunch, breaks, and receptions. The venue should be 4 star with upscale amenties. Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated.

2024.11.25 11:30 jollawellbuur Deep Cuts: Threat roll - have you used it? How does it play? (+ my own experience)
Folks, deep cuts has been out a couple of weeks now and the overall reception has been phenomenal. By now, I guess it's not only theory, but people have put it into play. So, I'm wondering, how do you feel about the revised Action roll, aka Threat roll, in play?
I noticed that at first there was some reluctance towards the threat roll. Then Sully5433 wrote two or three wonderful summaries and insights to explain that in principle, not much has changed. I think that dampened the initial reservations.
Personally, I had a chance to test it yesterday, and here's my thoughts:
- the overall procedure is a bit more structured but pretty much exactly what I did before and exactly what John Harper explains in this video.
- There's no pushing (before rolling). This is something I adjusted to quickly.
- The default is that "failure" is not the Threat. I like this, although I have to admit that I struggled to find good alternative Threats. I think overall this is a good change, because it incentivizes me to think more about what can go wrong and therefore push the action forward.
- Also, as explained in the video above, stating the Threat upfront means that I dont have to think about it after the roll. So, overall, no time is lost.
- devils bargain has much more emphasis. I Like that, because I havent used it that much before. Now, it comes quite naturally because I spend so much time thinking about alternative Threats anyway.
- controlled position: no roll > use it all the time!
