As I predicted my fairly old car is showing its age and failed my recent MOT. I've booked the earliest possible date to fix the offending component and retry the MOT but my tax will end up expiring before before the repair. As such I'm not sure what the recommended procedure is here. Can I declare it off the road for the TWO days leading up to the repair and then pay it after? Will DVLA cut me some slack on this if I explain the situation?
Any advice here would come in handy. I got about a week before the repair work.

2024.11.25 14:23 KILOCHARLIES Purchasing a repossessed property which remains advertised until completion

Hi all, just wondering if anyone has done this before and what the pitfalls are please.
Property is advertised at less than 50% of market valuation due it being a repossession and in need of complete refurbishment.
Estate agents say that there’s obviously been a lot of interest in it, they’ve had an offer in for just over the asking price and that any purchase must be completed within 14 days. As such no mortgage could be sorted by then and it’s cash only, which I have the savings to cover.
I asked that if I were to offer a higher offer for if, it would be on the proviso the property was removed from being advertised as classed as sold STC. They said the terms agreed with the seller prohibited this and it is to remain advertised until completion.
What are the pitfalls of this please? I guess anyone else could beat me to the punch for this meaning a loss of solicitors fees?
While it may seem a risky purchase, my brother owns an identical flat in the same development. I helped him with the purchase 6 years ago and are very familiar with the lease and service charge etc arrangements and I’m fully confident nothing is amiss there at all.
Grateful for any advice.

Slow day at work, so here I am... Strongly considering buying this lovely looking game, but I would love to hear some of the reasons you all love it so much. I LOVED Outer Wilds, and that sub pointed me here. I'm also currently playing Elden Ring. (first FromSoft experience, and I absolutely adore it) I've read that this game has a few elements of these styles of games, and this has me super excited about trying it out.
