I’m feeling lost and heartbroken about my family situation, and I really need advice. My dad has always been insecure, and he now thinks my mom is cheating on him (she’s not). His mood swings are extremely unpredictable—one moment he’s happy and jolly, and the next he’s snapping or yelling.
Recently, my mom burst into tears and vented to me. She told me that he’s been like this throughout their 21 years of marriage. She feels trapped and ashamed to tell her parents or her brother because she fears it will lead to a fight or make things worse. My mom is a homemaker, so we are completely financially dependent on my dad, and we’re not in a good financial position overall.
It breaks my heart to see her like this. She’s given up, frustrated, and I don’t know how to help her. I want to support her, but I feel powerless because of the financial dependency and the fear of escalating the situation. Has anyone been through something similar? Is there anything that can be done to help my mom find some peace or a way out of this? I’d really appreciate any advice or resources that could help us.

I remember an animated film in the 80s that I loved as a kid. I can't remember the name of it, though. I'll try to remember as much as I can. It's about a kid who I think lands on an alien planet. There are creatures there that seem friendly. One of them eats fruit from a bush by slurping it up its nose. The storyline gets a little hazy from there but the by the end of the film, he meets an old man and eventually we realise that it's him having grown old. I can't remember much more than that.

When I send emails from both the desktop web browser gmail app and the iOS gmail app they send with clipped line breaks, as if I pressed enter too soon for a new line. However, when I type them out they look normal. Anyone have any idea what might be going on?

so i recommend indians to rethink their decision of studying abroad and spending 100-200k in hopes of getting a job. After living abroad for 7 years and returning home, I have realised that employers dont know or care about what uni is in the top 10 or how the rankings change from year to year. They just know about HSW/ Oxbridge. A degree from UMichigan Ross= a UT Dallas = UEdinburgh= UNSW= UOtago here, atleast in consulting, Big 4, Tech, etc. Maybe people at startups know the nuances but i know friends from Northwestern/ Duke Fuqua/ LBS / Insead/ IMD/ UMich Ross/ USC/ HEC/ Bocconi/ LSE who struggled to find jobs and found some tier 2 roles at places like WeWork/ startups/ big 4 etc. Hence be very careful before taking loans to fund your education if you cant afford a degree abroad in the first place. NB: I am planning to get a degree in the US as well but dont plan on taking a loan and might return to India if i dont want to work a corporate job
