2024.11.25 15:09 bhartman36_2020 Trying Out A Wireless Receiver For My Kobo Libra Colour
So I got a Kobo Libra Colour recently, and I love it. It's basically become my constant companion. :) The only thing I miss from my Kindle Paperwhite SE is the wireless charging. The way I'm using the KLC, it looks like I'll probably be charging it once a week or so. (To give you an idea, in the course of five days, it went from 88% charge to 40% charge, as of right now.) Once a week isn't exactly terrible in terms of charging, but I loved the convenience of never having to plug it in and always having a full battery as long as I put the Paperwhite on the cradle when I was done.
Anyway, the receiver should be here tomorrow. It should be an interesting little experiment, if nothing else.

I was listening to The Pantaloon, and realized how that song is about Tyler’s fear of aging and potentially dementia/Alzheimer’s… and I kinda feel like the lyrics for The Line also fit that fear… Tyler’s final form… being old and not remembering the people he loves. Which also gave me a new lens to look at the Clancy storyline as well.

I've been an Android user up until purchasing an iPhone 14 recently. I have visual impairments that make seeing in low light very difficult. I need the display brightness to be 100% for the device to be useful - and this is standard behavior for Android (e.g. if I set a brightness level, it stays that way).
On the iPhone, if I change the brightness level to maximum through settings, it will stay that way for some time (at least ten minutes) but eventually (after an hour) revert to a 50% brightness setting. That means I can't use the phone in the dark because I can't see it well. I spent a good amount of time doing internet research, and nothing works - True Tone is off, and Night Shift is off.
Should I return the phone for a refund now and go back to Android? I can understand if Apple simply doesn't support people with visual impairments, but I wanted to ask because outside of this issue, I really like the device. I just can't find the display brightness setting in the dark to change so it really limits the usefullness of the device.
