To me my wheat straw bowl (to which I eat all my food) and my simple diet I like my sword and shield. They protect me from getting off course and binging on other foods - the bowl now has great stimulus control for me in my eating behaviors. My simple diet--pretty much all I want to eat as long as it is a small bowl of vegetables--has growing much more satisfying over the last 18 days I been on this diet current.
I should embrace the opinion of Dr. Marian Nestle who emphasized the overall importance of portion size. All I have to do is just keep doing what I'm doing. Nothing complicated. I don't record calories, worry about nutrients etc. (I'm already taking vitamin B12 and so on.) I just eat what I eat and record the weight on a daily basis. I'm just so delighted to see that it's declining again.
As they say in the military (about walking), "Pick them up and put them down!" No excitement, despair, etc., just moving steadily towards my goal of health and weight loss. The
Every now and then I eat something outside my diet. For instance, I had some of the turkey that my wife made for Thanksgiving dinner. But not much at all! A fork full. And sometimes tuna instead of my vegetable meals and (gasp!) sometimes a little mayonnaise in that tuna.
There's an old adage that I really like--"The price of perfection is prohibitive!" I just want to be good enough for long enough and I think that is the way I will reach my goals in the future (and how I reached them in the past).
I hope everyone is doing well with their health and with reaching their goals! We should be kind to ourselves in the process of regaining health. There are many, many forces that make weight so loss hard for us.

2024.11.25 15:11 iknowurface Help. Hyper focused on something and losing interest on other stuff
Is it normal? I used to go to the gym almost every day, sometimes naturally sometimes really liking doing it.
Now, during work days I get myself hyper focused for real on the thinks I’m working (that’s good somehow as I like what I do) but almost hating going to the gym (to the point like I prefer staying working despite anything else I need to do)
Also, I think it’s the same about eating. I have no hungry, thinking that there are something more important to do or simply thinking that the meals have a terrible taste (aka no taste at all)
Fucking hate this.
Also, when I try to stop anything I’m doing, my mind gets kinda ERASED, liking lose the ability of thinking or wandering a little. Staring to the void
Anyone? Is this dose related?

I think the early season was kind of a jinx on this fan base and probably for the team as a whole. The wins were coming easy. We were making every play look easy. We were dominating the ground game, we were making deep balls look effortless, we were tearing apart some pretty good defenses and for the most part we’d already locked up the win in like the second quarter for a few weeks there. And we almost didn’t need anything from our defense to win those games.
But winning in the NFL is hard, closing out a win in the NFL is even harder. Even the best teams, like the Chiefs have had to use some magic to close out wins. A blocked kick, a walk off TD in overtime. The Chiefs have winning in their DNA and when the game is on the line, they know they have that formula and can execute. The Commanders are learning how to win games, we’re learning how to empty the tank and come away with a victory when it’s hard. JD5 has that magic, that clutch factor, but it’s still a learned skill to close out a win. We saw it with the Steelers, where we marched down the field and short of a bad call by the refs, JD5 converts that fourth down and we likely kick the game winning field goal. Same with the Cowboys game and the Bears game, one throw and he can turn the game around.
The Eagles game is the best example of how hard it is to win a close game, and how veteran teams learn it and it becomes part of their DNA. We held a precarious lead for most of the game, but when the clock started ticking down, the Eagles found another gear while our engine stalled. There’s no shame in losing that game, because winning that fourth quarter war is what separates the contenders from where we are.
I know most people don’t need to hear this and even less people want to read a lecture on their favorite subreddit a day after a devastating loss, but we’ve been competitive every game this season short of the opener against Tampa. We’ve shown brilliant flashes and we’ve shown really frustrating growing pains. This is a team building a core, and building an identity where we shouldn’t take the sheets off yet, cause we’re bound to still shit the bed every now and then, but it’s an exciting squad with no quit. I believe this team can win any given Sunday and I can’t say that about a lot of Redskins/Football Team/Commanders squads I’ve watched. Let’s take the good with the bad and embrace the adversity as we journey to becoming that team we all want to be Comrades.
