This study seeks to understand some of the things that may link cisheterosexist experiences and mental health in gender and sexuality diverse/expansive young people. It invites you to complete 3 short surveys - one when you are ready, another two weeks later, and another two weeks after that.

Best Buy has a decent Black Friday for this LG 24in monitor for $79 and a JLab wireless keyboard & mouse set for ($111.00 after tax). Wanted to stay under $750 for a basic and easy recording & streaming setup. Ended up getting in under budget and probably using the rest for my office buildout. 2024.11.25 15:20 elegantwombatt Who stays on a date for 6+ hours with someone they're not interested in?
I guess my title can be a guess for you; I went on a date last night. We met at a small bar in town, sat at the bar drinking, playing darts, laughing - legitimately having a nice time, for 5+ hours and then sat in my car for over an hour at the end of the night smoking weed and again, just having a good time talking. I honestly couldn't have counted on it to go better. No awkwardness, we got along great, we had a ton in common, the conversation was great. We even talked about watching a movie after (at my house) and he brought it up - asking about options we had for movies. He said he was having a great night multiple times.
Then, at the end of the night, he looks me dead in the face and says "I'd like to hang out again but I don't want to continue dating" and I didn't even have words to respond. That was the most confusing first date, most confusing ending sentence to a date. I, personally, could not imagine staying on a date with someone I didn't want to continue dating for as long as we were at that bar. And he had multiple chances to leave - not that I wanted him to but he went out and smoked a few times and did not have to return if he did not want to. He also could have left after he paid his tab which was hours before we left.
Maybe my hormones and feelings are making me look at this from a warped point of view. Can someone please bring me a different perspective to help me feel better? Or worse maybe? Who knows.

I'm a P1 staff member at a UN agency, renting in Geneva. The Canton has requested my rental agreement and C form after being notified of my new address by the Swiss mission. However, my landlords have asked me not to share the agreement. The Canton has specified that adequate housing is a prerequisite for employment. I understand this can be a legal issue. What are my options?

a quick rant: while this sub is called Indians Read, that's hardly what happens here now.
Where are the posts about reviewing books, discussing themes and talking about the latest titles? No, all we see is people asking about their book collections. It's like the hobby has gone from reading books to simply collecting them and having an "aesthetic".
The other thing is the huge influx asking about self help books, and I see people on opposite ends of the spectrum. one group absolutely hating on them while the other is adamant that they are extremely helpful.
Self-help books are mediocre at best. Yes some really good ones exist, you can google them and find out instead of buying whatever you can get your hands on and then posting them here, seeking validation. A lot readers, including myself, feel that stories make you think for yourself, rather than be told by someone that you should do X, Y or Z to be better. If you are a beginner, you shouldn't start with self help, they will not make you enjoy reading. There is no desire to read just one more page that you get with literature. Period. If you do want to make your own opinion on them, I suggest you start with some good easy literature, and then read a self-help.
Lastly, I wish we collectively read more than show. I wish we could explore more authors from the subcontinent. Not because of some false sense of patriotism but because those stories are relatable and that's where a lot of the joy of reading lies. This isn't a problem as such, nor something that needs immediate attention, but still, something that I feel would make this subreddit and us well read and empathetic.
