Single mom here, really truly struggling. The only thing I have of any value is my car, and I’m not sure how much it’s even worth. Green 2 wheel drive 2013 FJ with high mileage, 180,000. Also I’ve recently quit smoking, but it has been smoked in previously. I just bought tires 2 months ago, but I don’t think they are anything fancy. I had a tire blow out over the summer, so even the spare is new. Can someone just tell me the best place to get the value of this car? My husband usually did all this type of dealing, but we are now going through a divorce.
Thanks for any help. I’m really trying to make myself not go to one of those title pawn places, but it’s rough out here!!

2024.11.25 15:40 DE4N0123 Any advice for dealing with swimmer’s tail?
 | Took our 14 month old lab swimming for the first time yesterday in an indoor pool. He really enjoyed it after overcoming his initial nerves! Sadly though it seems that today he’s come away with swimmer’s tail as it’s seemingly stuck in a downward position and he hasn’t wagged it at all! I was quite sad not to get my usual waggy tail greeting this morning. From what I’ve read online (and from talking to a woman on my street who also owns 2 labradors) it doesn’t seem to warrant a visit to the vet and should heal on its own. He isn’t whining or yelping and he isn’t protesting when I try to touch him around that area but I’m just wondering if anyone has any advice for speeding up the healing process/anything I can do to avoid making it worse? Title. I currently work in higher education compliance and I dislike it. The only reason I’ve stayed this long is because I applied for a hard-to-get-into MSB, got it, and then found out work would reimburse me for it 100%.
While I do like the program, I realized that I’m the only person in it trying to pivot to analytics in general. Most of my classmates hold at least a finance or general business degree and have been working in the field for a year or so. Even my advisor agreed that a hard pivot to this field will be challenging even if I manage to leverage my current role.
I have some accounting duties- mainly reconciliation - that I actually enjoy. My team accountant made the switch last year after getting his degree in one term from WGU. I have friends in accounting who talk about how it is the most consistent/stable business degree just because the career path is more defined. I’m thinking about switching to WGU, finishing my bachelors there, then come back to the last two classes and go from there. This said, I have a couple of questions:
- Is the accounting path really that defined? As in, the degree will be able to get you the job quicker than with other business majors?
- What are the WFH prospects these days?
- Is public accounting really that stressful? It actually speaks to me more than industry or tax just because I already work in legal compliance and understand some of the terminology.
- Should I always aim for the CPA? Will I have decent prospects without it? Are there alternate certs if I don’t decide to become a PA?

I have a 2011 Acura RDX and was hoping to install apple carplay on it. I saw some recommendations to check Best Buy and Crutchfield but I guess none of their models fit my car. I don‘t mind paying extra to get it installed professionally or doing it myself if it‘s easy enough. I just want to know if it‘s even achievable because from what I’m seeing nothing fits my car and I don‘t know too much about this stuff.

Hello! 33 F, & experienced this as a child and was later diagnosed with a seizure disorder at 19.
I remember trying to explain this feeling to adults as a child and trying to Google it as a teenager and finding nothing.
For me, I haven't experienced fast feeling since high school.
I'd say the sensation started to happen for me in elementary school. It would happen at least once a month, usually while I was awake. My body would feel like it was moving in slow motion while everyone around me seemed sped up and their voice almost chipmunk-like in how fast and high pitched and loud they would sound.
It decreased in intensity and regularity as I got older and I haven't experienced it in adulthood at all. But I've also been on Keppra since I was 19. I have seizures in my sleep and micro seizures when awake, which have thankfully been entirely controlled since I started the medication.
I'm only now finally discovering other people who experienced this and I'm so happy and relieved to see it's finally being researched or even acknowledged.
Does anyone else still experience this as an adult? Has anyone else been diagnosed with anything like epilepsy? I'd love to be involved in any studies if it helps increase sample sizes too.

Every year for Christmas, my mom asks for some sheets from Sam's club. I think they're Egyptian cotton, but either way they're fairly soft and good for hot sleepers. They're cheap though so by the next Christmas they're torn up and she's asking for new ones. I personally use linen sheets and she hates them.
I want to get her some nice sheets that will actually last her a good few years, that are soft and cool and will feel luxurious.
