Just today around 12:30pm I was driving home after getting off of the 401 and driving down the long stretch of the Hanlon towards kortreigh and I noticed in both lanes of the road the cars wouldnt go past 80 (the speed limit of the road). There was a cop van in this group of cars that I guess got fed up with everyone driving 80 and decided to pass everyone and then drive down the road going easily 110-120. I was way behind the cop van and going about 105 and the cop van was still noticeably going faster than me! They then proceed to turn into the medium-grass area of the Hanlon under one of the bridges so they could post up and ticket people for going over the speed limit!
This is unbelievable behaviour from them, they cant even follow the rules of the road! Somehow the cops here get a free pass for going 20+ km over the speed limit yet they'll ticket other people for going a few km over! I've gotten a ticket in the past on that exact stretch of road for going 95-100mk yet they can zoom by doing 110-120?!
This doesnt even mention the other illegal or immoral things cops do on the road, like not using their signals (which I saw literally a few days ago, a cop not signaling when lane changing, swerving in their lane as if they were on their phone or something, and not signaling when making a left turn at an intercection!)
Its cops like that that tarnishes the reputation of the police and makes people (myself included) wary and untrusting of them. Cops suck

Countless websites and apps do this bullshit. "We changed something so here's a forced pop up and interaction you have to do just to use the app." If I wanted to learn about or use your new feature I would. I dont want to. I'm just trying to use your shit like normal and you're making it difficult by not allowing me to click on anything until I acknowledge that you changed something. I don't give a fuck. Let me use your shit and go fuck yourself. Then the constant reminders of shit that impede functionality or use. Do you want notifications? No. Are you sure? Yes. Are you really sure? YES. I am trying to think of the best way to express this.
So, I have considered myself a musician since I picked up a guitar over 20 years ago. When I was a teen, I played in metal bands and going to shows was my thing. There was always a social aspect to it, and sometimes that social aspect actually got in the way of music. Throughout my 20's, I did not want to be in bands, but I wanted to do my own thing. I still loved music and playing, and I eventually went to get a Bachelor of Music, with a focus in audio production and engineering. That was in my late 20's. I never stopped trying to work on my writing though. I always hoped that I could do my own thing, do it well, and release something on my own. I released my first solo music at the end of 2019 as part of my senior project. After that, I started working on material for my next release.
I was a music teacher for a few years in my early 30's. I taught audio production and mixing, writing, and instrument lessons at a private high school, as well as a private studio. I also did a small amount of freelance engineering and mixing, but it was difficult to get any attention, for various reasons. After a while, I started noticing that I didn't even want to listen to music on my commutes anymore. I thought, I have been listening to music all day and I want a break. But I started getting tired of writing too. I mean, I was having to essentially write with (read: for) students so that they could finish their assignments, and I was frustrated that I had to spend up my writing time on someone else's music rather than mine. I was also starting to experience ulnar nerve issues that made it uncomfortable to play and teach, and those issues plagued me for about a year. I eventually wanted to stop trying to make money with music at all, and I was able to pivot to the IT field.
So after I stopped working with music, I thought that I could get back to normal. I was finally able to release another EP that I had been working on whenever I could for four years. It was a lot of work and it pushed my limits in regards to technical guitar skill and mixing/mastering skill. I felt like this was the furthest manifestation of a writing style that I had been trying to achieve for many years, personally. I had no fanbase from the last release and I did try to drum up some hype for my release by trying to do social media stuff. The attention has been minimal, which I expected, but that's kind of not the point.
But now, I don't feel like writing in this style anymore. In fact, I don't feel like I have any reason to write anymore. I kind of don't even want to listen to music. I've been listening to music for so long as a means of working on my own music. I'm not sure if I remember how to listen to music just for enjoyment. I don't feel like committing to a band. I don't know what to do with myself. I feel so lost. I have so much that I could say, but I've already said so much. If you got this far, thank you for reading. I would like to get some advice and insight from folks that have dealt with this. I am struggling.

2024.11.25 18:49 glitchii-uwu Pedal upgrade or handbrake?
My current setup is a Thrustmaster TMX with the stock pedals on PC, I'm stuck between if I should buy a handbrake module or upgrade my pedals to something with a clutch, like T3PA or T3PM so I can drift my car. Basically, I'm asking if it's better to drift via clutch kicking or handbraking. I've tried drifting through oversteering since that's all my setup can do, but I can't get the hang of it. I'd get both handbrake and pedals but that's not really in my budget.
