2024.11.25 17:54 evangelinesepiphany Gabapentin or CBD oil for drive to vet?
My cat freaks out in the car while on the way to vet appointments, caterwauling (not sure if that's the right spelling lol), panting, rubbing against her carrier etc. I don't like seeing her feel that way.. She's in need of shots, thus a vet appointment is in order.. i talked to the vet & they said they'll prescribe her gabapentin (one dose night before vet, and one dose 2hrs before vet).. I'm worried about the effects of it & don't want her to feel confused or anxious. I've thought about using cbd oil to calm her down instead because I feel like it has less side effects? but I'm not sure. Has anyone had experience with gabapentin for their cats?? Thanks. any thoughts/advice welcome.

There used to be a bakery around Santa Croce that would bake for all the cafe’s and you could go to their back area real late (1am+) and pay a few euro for freshly baked sweets and baked items. i used to struggle with an ed, but i was never thin. this girl looks like what you see in the movies. pure skin and bones. I can't stop thinking about it and I haven't been able to sleep. It makes me so sad... and jealous i think. I sent her a really long message last night (she hasn't answered yet) but i wanted to post the message here because im a little nervous about it:
Hi (name)! I've heard from around that you've been struggling a bit. I just saw a tiktok video of you that you reposted in september and just felt like i needed to reach out. I know people saying things/ expressing worry is fuel to the fire because that's exactly what people with eating disorders are looking for. when it comes to getting better, it's hard. it's miserable. it's uncomfortable and it's saddening to see your thin body form into a “healthy” one. it's so hard to feel like people have stopped noticing the weight loss and asking you if you're okay expressing their worry for you. it's also hard to have people instead start to comment on "how much better you look now that your clothes fit". it's hard going from not liking yourself to finally finding something that gave you control / feeling like it made people notice you, to going back to feeling like nobody cares anymore. i know it's satisfying seeing the number drop, especially after being a muscular gymnast for so long. It's also so miserable being so angry and on edge all the time. never feeling good, being out of breath walking up the stairs, having it be painful/ exhausting just to roll over in bed... i never looked as emaciated as you. I still looked healthy. I also didnt have it go on as long as you. Nobody worried about me the way people are worried about you. I can't imagine what your body feels like. I know that's what you want to hear, is that people are worried, but I really really hope you don't use it as fuel, even though you want to. I couldn't live with myself if sending this message gave you fuel. I know we weren't friends and I know we aren't close, but seeing your body is tearing me to shreds. Getting better is so freaking hard. It feels like someone is ripping the one thing you can control away from you. mentally, it's so freaking hard to get better. But physically, it feels so good. I know you don't love to talk about it, but you can always reach out to me if you need anything. I can also always help you look for resources if you need :)
