This is the same job I have in San Diego (and before that, Miami). Basically, the position is identifying plant pathogenic fungi found during inspection of agricultural commodities coming into the country: you get to see a wide variety of interesting plant-associated microfungi from around the world. It's a great position for someone that loves spending time on a microscope puzzling out the little tiny things.
They never leaves these up for very long: this one opened today, and closes Dec. 2. Government applications are checked by computer before a real person sees them, and it can be a bit fiddly to get past the automated review. I have an old GTX 970 laying around collecting dust, and was wondering if there’s any value in sticking it into my VM host. My VM host has a i5 12400 with 6 cores allocated to the ollama VM. Without context it generates about 15t/s running llama 3.2, so I was wondering if there would be any improvement from the 970?
I can test it myself, but wanted to get some thoughts before I go through the process of dusting off the card, turning off the server, etc

My little one is 7 with CP with ataxia, hypotonia, autism, and more. She kicks off her rubber boots when we go sledding, then her socks get wet, and it becomes a burdensome activity. She also kocks off her boots / shoes in the car, but it's not a big deal there. She also takes off her mittens and hat constantly, which I'm also not sure how to handle. We live in Vermont where it gets extremely cold, windy, and snowy.
Do you know of any specific boot styles that stay on the feet of kods who kick a lot? Hoping for a style with a zipper and not laces. Thanks in advance!

I had 45mins Pto originally last week. They give me 7hrs and 30mins yesterday and same day remove 28hrs and 17 mins. I’m now negative 20hrs. Has this happened to anyone else? Just noticed while on break hoping HR can fix this. Today was the first day of my transfer to pick.

I have an RTL-SDR V4 connected to a raspberry pi 4 running raspberry pi os. I have readsb and fr24feed installed (fr24feed reading from readsb). So basically, I looked at my dongle and noticed a red light near the sma port. I tried turning it off with rtl_biast -b 0 command with no changes. However, when I enable rtl_tcp the light seems to turn off. When I disable rtl_tcp it goes back on, even with no services enabled on my pi. I don't have anything that needs powering from the dongle and so I need the bias-t off.
Any help is appreciated.

This just just something that crossed my mind in the shower yesterday....
I had some leftover adhesive residue near my armpit from an old bandage. And I was just wondering if this would risks potentially more HS flareups / boils?
How about just the fact of wrapping your HS and not allowing your pores and skin to breath? Can this actually make HS worse?

I’m going to make this as short as possible. I’ve been in EMS as a critical care paramedic for nearly 15 years. I also have progressive degenerative disc disease which has already caused me 4 back surgeries and recently found out it’s progressing up my spine faster than anyone could have anticipated. My doctor told me I need to get off the ambulance now or I’ll be non-ambulatory by the time I’m 40 (currently 34). I’m in school for English Literature and Marketing. I need to separate completely from healthcare and my “dream job” per se is getting into publishing or anything really to do with literature.
My question is, what are some pathways I can explore to get my foot in the door for this transition? I’ve searched online and haven’t found anything incredibly helpful.
