2024.11.25 19:30 BBQXOXO Mini-Split sizing help needed.
 | I am building a 2,800 sq. ft. home. 40x40 is living quarters. 30x40 is shop/garage. I have radiant tubing in the floor and that will be my primary heat. But instead of installing an AC, I decided to do a heat pump in the house and a mini-split heat pump in the shop/garage. Just for backup heat (important to note this.) This is my Manual J calc. I ordered a 12,000 btu mini-split, but I am really wondering if I shouldn’t cancel it and go with a 9,000 btu. Again, the heat from the mini-split is backup. I was in the business for years (been out for years) and I used to preach to “trust the numbers and do NOT oversize the equipment!”. Am I breaking my own rule? I ordered a 2 ton variable speed ducted mini-split for the house. It goes down to 12,000 btu. I “think” I will be OK with that. Gahhhh… so hard to trust the numbers since they’re so low. Foam insulation, 2” foam under slab, energy efficient windows, commercial R17 garage door with extra seals on the inside. Hi commanders. I was wondering how many points in the system map are the equivalent to the merits I farmed in that system. I get 1 Merritt for 1000 credits profit so far but how much effect do I have on the system map. I recently mined monazite and got a payout of 46000 merits instantly. Now I hope this will have a visual effect on the system progress of my power. But so far I can’t figure out how much that is. Thanks for the help.

2024.11.25 19:30 heathernicole490 My only sibling, my brother, died 2 months ago. Spouse is completely unsupportive and has stone walled me this entire time.
I just lost my only sibling 2 months ago. We had already lost both our parents within the last ten years. Mom to suicide-Dad to heart attack. We were extremely close siblings. My spouse has turned his back on me. He believes now is the time to work on our marriage. Before my brother’s death, we were working on some marital issues. I am a spender, he is a saver. He has now cut me off from our finances, only giving me what he thinks is necessary to run a household. I’m left to live on my brothers life insurance money until I can find a job that will support me and our 3 kids. The other issue we were working through is our daughter, who is 11, still needs me to sleep with her all night. She witnessed the aftermath of my mother’s suicide 5 years ago, and has had separation/sleep anxiety ever since. I’ve been diagnosed with PTSD, panic disorder, and severe depressive episode in the last couple weeks. My husband has not mentioned my brothers death, asked me how I am, offered me any sort of support, since 12 days after brothers death. He thinks my focus should be solely on working on my flaws and he accepts no accountability for his shortcomings or his behavior toward me. He says I need to soften my heart or I won’t get anything from him. He doesn’t like my tone when he asks me questions. In my opinion the love he once had for me is gone. How could anyone watch their spouse suffer like this, and offer no mercy or kindness? Any advice?
