Today for the first time ever I’ve experienced I serious near miss on A2 driving towards Bexleyheath . I was driving from Chatham and coming up to a slip road, I moved over from lane 1 to lane 2 to allow for the cars from the slip road to merge, well the merging car had some other plans, the grandad decided to across the lanes and drive into my lane, since he put his blinker on it gave him the right to push me out the way.
Now honestly it was only luck that stopped accident happening because if there was anyone in lane 3 I would be screwed. I had to swerve into lane 3 because he decided to not bloody check his blind spot.
I honestly with someone recorded it with a dashcam but I bet it’s a slim chance that anyone will post it, I’ve got the licence plate but no proof of this bellend trying to turn me & my friend into dust .

2024.11.25 19:49 Mangavore How do you feel about Switch games that warped their respective series around them?
I feel like, especially with first party games, the Switch was the system where Nintendo broke the mold on quite a few of their major IPs. Games that immediately come to mind (of varying levels):
- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
- Fire Emblem: Three Houses
- Pokemon: Let's Go
- Super Mario Odyssey
The odd one out here is for sure Three Houses, since Fire Emblem historically has so few releases per system, that from 3H forward, the choice will always have to be made which side of the fanbase to please? I feel like this game has alienated a LOT of the "old school" player base. I think this point can be made for BotW as-well, since it's such a drastic departure from LoZ's roots. The saving grace for LoZ is that there's usually quite a few put out each generation so I see no reason they can't continue to make games on each side of the fence.
Meanwhile, Pokemon has almost exclusively adopted the improvements brought on by Let's Go. I think I hear less people with issues regarding the new style of Pokemon, excluding how buggy games have been on-release since Let's Go. That said, going back to pre-Switch titles can feel like a REAL slog since the games feel so dated by comparison.
How do you feel about series warping games? Both from the perspective of future releases and also as new people who come into a series? Are there any other examples that fit this criteria, for better or worse?
For example, as universally loved by a new player base as 3H is, you can't deny that it doesn't really leave you anywhere else to go in the series if that's the one you fell in-love with. I tend to recommend trying Persona or Tokyo Mirage Sessions if the exclusive thing you love about 3H isn't the tactical gameplay (which is sparse compared to all other titles in the series). I feel like it starts a lot of people on the wrong foot with the series if they start with 3H.

What it Does? the major things it could do is:
- Hide the ELO (also could maybe hide the rank itself) from the UI of the match and from the VS screen
- Only shows the Rank before queuing into a match, without showing the ELO itself
- Hides ELO gains/losses from a victory/loss screen, only showing the rank itself (the only way you can see your ELO is either through your profile or when Promoting/Demoting from a rank)
[Yes i am aware in that ELO doesnt matter at all about your skill as a player but i think that it be a boost to the mental game when you are playing ranked

2024.11.25 19:49 1iliketrains1 Feeling guilty for studying.
I (18) am about to end my first semester of college in the US, so I've begun to look into the costs for the Spring. The thing is, I'm beginning to feel a lot of guilt for putting the financial burden of sending me here on my parents, who live and work in a third world country where my tuition & board surely puts strain on their salaries.
I do have a scholarship so it's not as bad as it could be, but does anyone else feel like it would be better if they had just gone to a local school instead? Realistically I'm sure many feel that way, but it'd still be nice if I could get people's opinions directly. If anyone has any advice on reducing the financial load, that'd also be greatly appreciated.

My parent just accepted an offer on a secondary household. How can I help them reduce the paid from the sell?
The house is selling at 850k. It has bought at 300k. My parents own the property together so 850k - 300k = 550k / 2 (cuz half is taxes) = 225k / 2 (cuz they own it together) = 112.5k taxes
This equals to about a total tax of about 110k. (I know I need to add the "profit" to their income and that whole amount would equal to a higher taxes)
Can someone suggest ways to reduce this? Btw this in quebec.

2024.11.25 19:49 jangoagogo Got a Dell G3223Q, thinking about sending it back for something else due to black screen issue.
Been looking to get a new main monitor ever since my Dell S2716DG started showing white lines across the display one day, and since the colors on it don't look that good. I was eyeing the 4K 32" Dell G3223Q, and pulled the trigger recently when it went on a good sale. I'm looking to build a new computer early next year for this monitor with something like a Ryzen 9800x3d and a 4070tiS/4080s/50XX gpu.
The monitor looks great and does everything I'd like it to do, but as has happened to many other people, there's an issue where it seemingly randomly will just go black for 1-2 seconds. I'm running a three monitor setup (S2716DG, G3223Q, U2417H) on an HP Omen laptop from 2019 w/ an RTX 2060. The G3223Q is connected via a mini-DP to DP Amazon Basics cable. Monitor firmware is up to date, NVIDIA drivers too, and GSYNC is off.
So, two things: (1) Any suggestions on how to fix this? I.e., computer can't support this? Bad DP cable?
(2) I'm thinking about sending the monitor back if I can't fix this for something like a much-cheaper G2724D. What other non-OLED Dell monitors at 27" 1440p or maybe 27"-32" 4k would you recommend that have colors/contrast as good as the G3223Q?

2024.11.25 19:49 handclapattack Pedestrian Hit By Dangerous Driver - PLEASE ADVISE
On Saturday I got run over by a car whilst traversing a pedestrian crossing. Driver went through a red light (I think...) and bonneted me, bullseyed the windshield then launched me 10 yards along the road surface.
Adrenaline kicked in and stood straight up and thankfully a witness in another car blocked him in and anyone else from hitting me and she rung an ambulance. Because I was so pumped on adrenaline I gave 999 my details but asked them to cancel ambulance. Got driver's details, took photos and people went on there way...thought I was alright, Collapsed 10 mins later and got blue lighted to hospital. In the wait, the police turned up obviously triggered by the earlier report of an RTC and kept me company and expedited ambulance.
I took the full force in my right hip and felt like my ribs were broken and someone had poured concrete into my head and neck.
By some miracle the CT scan revealed I had no brain bleed or fractures much to the confusion of the trauma doctor. I could have been a lot lot worse but I very much feel like I've been hit by a car today.
Police have confirmed he gave me correct details but are wanting to speak to him in person. Witness has stated he was in the wrong lane for a turning so snuck past her and another driver and whipped into a side road and ME. He was clearly on a phone call via his AirPods (more careless than holding the bloody phone) and unbelievably was still having a conversation when he got out of the car. CCTV search not looking good but witness statement pretty detailed. He didn't protest me having walking out and seemed to accept he'd hit me...so to speak.
I'm expecting 0% from the police but they do seem quite "on it".
Serious question...what the hell should I be doing now (and don't say looking where I'm going).
More interested in getting healthy than anything but frankly want this guy to regret it...legally / financially if it has an impact on me.
It's only day 3 and know I'm gonna feel worse before hopefully better but I'm in agony, can barely use my right leg and keep having (nervous?) twitches in my head - I'm stammering a bit at times.
Any advice?
