 | The kitchen here is very narrow and my husband and I are wondering whether we could move it over to where the current dining room/breakfast area is. But then there'd be this kind of awkward vacant space where the kitchen is currently...could a dining room table fit there? Would we have to add a sunroom ($$$) to make that space usable if there is no longer a kitchen there? Thank you! My dream was to learn mandarin, now I am happy , because new language school opened where I live, and I can attend. However, turned out this school is the Taiwanese embassy's school, they are teaching traditional characters, not simplified like used in mainland china. I don't have problem with this at all, good to know, but will I have problem in the future? Also, I would take tests later, this means I can only take taiwan' tests? I realized it while I tried to chat with mainland chinese people, because I wanted practise. Now I am confused and don't know what to do.

so, i had rog ally for like 5 months ( dec 2023 to may 2024 ) i sold it because i needed money to buy a new laptop for my work. in past months i have missed ally so much. i have laptop to play same games ( warzone ) which i played for months on ally but playing on laptop nd playing on ally was diffrent experience. ally made gaming so fun for me. now when i saw that i can get ally z1e for same price to which i sold it to someone. i couldn't stop myself to buy it again. although i get thoughts that i may waste money to play same game ( warzone/bo6 i know right now there is ban wave going but it will get fix ) so i was saying i know i have laptop play games so sometime i feel buying ally maybe waste my money but i could not get my mind over ally. its delivering tomorrow so i have some hours to cancel it so i can get refund back. is ally in past 8 months improved in performance and software wise thru updates?

I know there are so many posts about this already- I think I've read them all but im still looking for more opinions. I have to get a LEEP and I have to option to go under GA or take a Xanax or Percocet and do it in office under local anesthesia. I did OK with my previous colposcopies- I was more anxious than anything and wasn't THAT painful just uncomfortable and mild cramping afterwards. I really don't know what to do.

2024.11.25 19:30 poetryiscool Career / money struggles.
Long story short I spent the first part of my 20s pursuing music / comedy and due to the pandemic and oversaturation causing loss of passion, I failed.
Now the last 2 years ive been trying to become something (construction worker, factory worker, salesman) and they all feel wrong or didnt work out.
Like right now I work a door to door job I found out I am completely against doing because of “the golden rule”
I also despise using a script and subetly manipulating people to benefit a corporation. I literally could not bring myself to do it passed 2 days lol
I am well liked, considered funny & bright but I just cant seem to figure anything out in this world. Ive thought of slowly working towards a degree to do social work but all I read is how little money that makes and how college is less and less viable.
So here I am, broke and about to leave another job. Im proud of myself for always being true to my principles but I feel like an immense loser who cant start something new or fully let go of my seemingly dead dream.
Im not sure what im looking for here, perhaps some words of wisdom or understanding. I feel incredibly lost and more hopeless than ever.

2024.11.25 19:30 Squidmaster777 What do people think about panhandlers and stoplight beggers?
I feel conflicted whenever I see panhandlers. They are very plentiful in my neighborhood. I know Jesus commands us to give to the needy when asked, but I have seen and read too much to believe that these people are actually needy. I know there are reports locally of panhandlers being connected as a small scam network. Or it’s often people who have plenty of other options, but choose to beg.
My wife works a retail job and one of her coworkers was seen by his manager across town begging on a street corner, but he actually called in sick and took the day off work, choosing to beg.
My mother also works for the Salvation Army in social services, she is a strong believer as well, but through the years she has often reported many misuses of the system. People who come in looking for free food. When offered assistance in finding work or a change to their situation, they decline, opting to stay on the streets.
It is not that I feel like I NEED to know my money is going to the right place, but I just do not feel comfortable giving out cash to predators who manipulate peoples emotions to get money when they could come by it honestly. And it makes me sad that these scammers muddy the waters for those actually in need.
Anyone else have thoughts on this or experience similar issues?

In my school, you have to request to be put in AP classes, and I wasn't put into some of the ones I wanted to take, so now I'm stuck taking one AP class and all regular classes besides that. Should I take online APs, would colleges still see it as course rigor?

Just wanted to chime in and thank the maintainers for their continued efforts with Void.
While I'm a bit new to Linux, and have hopped a little, I've found Void to, well, simply suck less. All the distributions suck in one way or another (right?) and Void seems to suck the least. While I had to learn quite a bit to get it installed the way I wanted, it now, mostly, Just Works and that's more than I can say for most distributions, including Windows.
I'll now go back to getting some work done, without being routinely frustrated or thinking about my OS or the next thing I need to fix because it's hampering my workflow.
