Hi everyone, I love nutrition and exercise and plan to go into sports nutrition. At my current job I make $65k/year. I am in a union and my employer pays my health insurance, vision, and dental. I have 4 weeks paid vacation, 10 sick/personal days, holiday pay including my birthday, tuition reimbursement of up to $10k/year, guaranteed raise every year, $25k life insurance included at no extra cost - which all sounds great on paper, right? But I don't love what I do. I've been here 20 years, I'm burnt out, my commute is miserable (I work in a big city so 13 miles takes me 1.5hrs š¤¦š»āāļø) and I hate being trapped in an office 8+hrs a day. I graduate in May with my bachelor's degree and should be done with my masters + supervised practice hours the following year. After reading SO MANY posts about the crappy pay and how much people regret going into this field I'm scared I'm making a mistake. I feel like it's too late to go back now, but I'm torn. I'm up for a promotion at my current job (which I've maintained full time hours at all through my degrees). I will accept the promotion as I still have 1.5 years left and it provides me with some flexibility in hours while I complete my rotations. Am I making a huge mistake? Is following your passion worth it? I just feel like I have so much more to offer and am needing that feeling of loving my job so much it doesn't feel like work. I have a vision of how I picture my future in this career but can't tell if I'm living in a fantasy. I keep telling myself there's a plethora of options out there in this field but seeing so much negativity really has taken the wind out of my sales. If you made it this far: Thanks for reading. This year Iām only taking AP World which honestly is light but just a big workload. I need to do up to Algebra 2 at least at my high school and now Iām in geometry but I was wondering asides this, my senior year since I might to do it, is AP PreCalc or AP Stats bad? Also would you recommend APUSH? History is cool but the only thing is the class period also might be the same as for this other class (non-AP) I want to take.
Next Year I plan on doing these for sure: Continuing with Cross Country AP Environmental Science AP Lang Algebra 2 (maybe honors) Video Production or Urban Farming APUSH or USH
Also this is secondary but what is more beneficial to take senior year, AP Lit or Dual Enrollment?

2024.11.25 21:50 ralphiedoodles First time ever having a seizure... gained consciousness in the back of an ambulance.
Hi! Just need to vent to others who will understand. No one else in my family (or life) have t1d.
Have had it for about 12 years now after a nasty bronchitis infection. With the craziness surrounding the upcoming holidays, I've gotten a part time job on the weekends to earn some much needed extra money for my kids. Inflation is hitting us hard here (just like everywhere, honestly) and with my rent increasing, I've taken all the extra work I can. I work Mon-Fri, 9-5 in a doctor's office of all places and picked up some seasonal work at a local grocery story on the weekends. Needless to say, I'm running low on sleep. My husband works out of state a few months a year and I'm left alone with our two kids right now. I've had my fair share of highs and lows, but nothing too concerning. Had an appointment with my new endocrinologist last week, a1c's down from 8.1 to 7.3, yay! Long story short, I was managing with injections for a few months without an insulin pump or CGM trying to figure out where to go with my new insurance. Took a few months to sort out, but I'm now on the medtronic 780g pump with the guardian link 3 cgm.
Anyway, I've been battling with a migraine from my jacked up sleeping schedule... clocked out after my shift last night after 9pm. I was walking through the freezing cold parking lot when I realized that I was sweating from my blood sugar going low and not the heat from working in the store. A coworker asked if I was okay as she walked by and I told her I'd be okay and said goodnight. I dug through my purse, chugged an old glucose drink I had, and stopped the basal delivery on my pump as I silenced the alarms and hurried to my car. I turned on my light and waited, with my head still pounding, and kept checking my phone. I remember taking my kit out to check it manually and feeling nauseous from my migraine. I remember feeling sick, closing my eyes for a second, and that's it.
Next thing I know, I wake up in the back of an ambulance with the paramedics asking me questions and a group of police officers telling me that they put my car keys and phone in my purse and locked my car for me. The medics and firefighters said that my manager saw me sitting in my car still while he was waiting for his car to warm up and went to check on me when he noticed I was having a seizure, with my head slumped against my chest, my lips blue, and foam around my mouth. He came out of the store almost 30 mins after I did and all my coworkers were gone except me.
I'm in the ER for my migraine right now and I'm in shock that this happened. I thought I closed my eyes for a second and not nearly 30 minutes. The parking lot was completely empty besides a broken down car, my car, and my manager's car. I feel so fucking embarrassed and horrified at the thought of myself in a driver's seat in my delirious state. I don't remember any of what my manager described. I think I traumatized him for life.
My whole body hurts. I feel like I got run over. My tongue is so goddamn sore. I thanked my manager for checking on me and calling for help. He admitted that he started to drive by my car, but had a gut feeling that he needed to get out and check on me. Needless to say, I'm all any of coworkers are talking about at both of my jobs. My mom drove down to take care of my kids after getting calls from the neighbor after the babysitter knocked on her door after neither got a response from me.
Hopefully, I'll be discharged after I get the scans I need to confirm nothing more serious is going on. My husband's boss called and told me he's at the airport and on his way home right now.
The only other thing I had in my purse was an old, expired pack of glucose tablets. Lesson learned. I'll remember to check what I have on me and make sure it's not expired.

I tried the CRS calculator with a profile like this:
Single - 28 years old
International Bachelor
2 year Canadian Diploma
1 year Foreign work experience
1 year Canadian work experience
LMIA + 50 points
CLB 9 all band (not even 10)
CRS 559 after coming to Canada for 3 years? with a Canadian sibling that's another 15 points extra.....
Like uhmm,
How about the people that got a 3+ years Canadian diploma/bachelor + 2 years experience + CLB 10,
that's at least 5-6 years of being a good student, and a hard worker in the country, with maxed out English score and only CRS 499?
How is that fair? yes yes I know people can learn French too, but studying here to get good grades, find a good job, practice perfect English, studying French will be very challenging in that time frame, and even with the French added score, we are still lower than those that came to Canada for like half of our time here. And that's already not including some people that came here since high school (like me since the beginning of grade 9) which got 0 additional points.
I know people don't like to spam the LMIA points removal topic, Sorry beforehand
But I think removing LMIA +50 points ASAP is just a start to fix the problem/loophole that's been going on for the past 3 years
They should also really considers lowering point for Foreign Work Experience or removing it for CEC Draws
I would like to say that, not everyone that fits to the situation above are frauds, but quite a few of them are, especially with "foreign experience and bachelors" as well as "LMIA"

I started uploading some CODM footage that I screen recorded using the native recorder on my 15 pro max. In the Photos app the recordings look fantastic, but once I upload them to youtube they look like shit.

Putting together the clues that weāve figured out on several different threads.
The two dancers are dead ringers for Soul Train dancers at the iconic Soul Train Scramble Board. Dancers on the show are meant to unscramble the phrase before the end of the song. This is Kendrick inviting us the audience to unscramble the phrase.
We now know the first part of the message āOmnia est Aliquidā is Latin for āeverything is something. I.e. everything in this video is a clue.
The remaining letters unscramble to āANSWER KEY DT DTā which Iām taking to mean this video is an āAnswer Key to Dotās (release) Date.ā
Coupled with all the references to double albums throughout the video (The Roots Things Fall Apart, Isaac Hayesās Black Moses, Nate Doggās G-Funk Classics, Tupacās All Eyez on Me, etc.) we can deduce that this video not only confirms a second album, but it tells us the date that album will be released.
Now here comes the tough part. There are a billion more Easter eggs in this video, starting with that Compton Christmas parade banner. So Iād guess the next album will come out sometime around the parade date of Dec 14th. But there are really too many clues to follow.

So background on how I met this guy, I went line dancing the other night with a friend, and we went to this country style dance club. While I was there, a dude tried to tease and poke fun at me for something small I did as an obvious joke but seeing as it was a stranger, I just felt a tad embarrassed instead of laugh along with him at myself. One of the guys that was with this dude quickly noticed I was embarrassed and mouthed the word āSorryā¦ā to me and I respectfully nodded to him and walked away and resumed dancing not thinking much of it. I soon a few songs later needed a bit of a break, and headed over to the bar. Then suddenly, like a minute later that same guy who silently apologized for his friend approached and sat next to me at the bar and said hi to me. Taken aback by his sudden appearance I was like āOhā¦ Hiā¦!ā He then said āYeah haha sorry about my friend. Let me buy you a drinkā I was like āOh no no you donāt have to lolā and well he insisted and I accepted. He bought me a few more as we talked to one another a bit and we soon introduced ourselves. He bought me a few more drinks and we had a really good night talking and dancing, and he was quite the flirt and smooth talker. The night ended with the club closing at midnight, and us exchanging numbers. We even hugged and kissed at the end, with a date planned for tomorrow afternoon. But two huge concerns arose for me about him. Heās a huge liberal and Iām a massive conservative, whereas Iām a Christian and heās an agnostic. Almost everything else about the other aligned and matched so far though, and heās such a charmer and seemed like a kind soul. I just worry if tomorrow goes well, and I begin to start liking him more, our conflicting religious and political views can affect the way we connect. But I agreed to tomorrow because he was open to debate these things like a mature adult and seemed open minded.
