I love cooking, but I feel limited to a small rotation of meals that I make on repeat as I cook for my family of 4 that each has very different needs and tastes.
I would appreciate some ideas for cohesive meals I could make that would please the following constraints:
Kid A: incredibly picky eater and survives on plain carb products mainly (tortillas, pasta, rice, bread, fries) and sometimes plain veg like carrot, peas, and sweetcorn. Not a fan of most meat except sausages. Will not eat mixed foods or foods with “built-in” sauce, e.g. stew or curry. This is the one I need deconstuctable meals for, so I can serve the carb and veg portion of the meal separately for him. I prefer not to make a separate meal for him.
Kid B: will try almost anything but needs softer foods, as he is still a baby. Has a tendency to stuff his mouth and spitting it out if it can’t be mushed e.g. chicken.
Adult A: dislikes most veg and will usually not take any unless it’s built in to the meal (like stew or curry). Doesn’t really eat soup. Doesn’t appreciate much veg in stir fry. Very much a comfort food person. Won’t eat fish other than beer battered haddock/cod.
Adult B: (me) I like most foods but I can’t really do spicy food. I made curry but omitted or reduced any spicy ingredients for example. I like lots of veg.
In the spirit of trying to get kids used to homemade meals, I try not to make much from frozen stuff (nuggets, etc).
The meals I tend to make on repeat are: - wraps with salad and chorizo chicken - sausages with some form of potato and plain veg - burgers - meatballs with gravy, pasta or potatoes, and plain veg - spaghetti carbonara with plain spaghetti on the side - stew with separate roast potatoes and some veg (did amazing sprouts the other day but nobody else touched them) - recently, curry with separate rice - homemade sourdough pizza - shakshuka served with homemade sourdough bread

2024.11.25 22:40 Idontusereddittomuch AITAH for ejaculating into my wife’s breast milk cup?
I (39M) and my wife (37F) have 3 kids (1M, 3F and 7F) and she saves her breast milk in little sealed cups (those slightly see-through beige cups). Usually she only gets it to halfway full and refills it if it gets below half full. So being the reasonable adult I am, saw that she wanted me to do the other half and so started ejaculating into the cup. After about 4 times I did this she joked to me that the cup kept getting filled up way above half (what can I say? I have great genes haha) and jokingly asked me if I had been ejaculating into the cup and of course I said I did (who would lie to their spouse?). After I said that I was, in fact, ejaculating into the cup her face went from confused, to angry, to sad, and then worried and went to thouroughly wash the cup and told me that she needs some time apart. So reddit, AITAH or is my wife just overreacting?

2024.11.25 22:40 yelsnow Bathroom Sink Plumbing Leak
 | Bathroom sink was clogging, and I took out the p-trap to clean it out. Ended up redoing the tailpiece as well. I put in new gaskets at the tailpiece and then the rest of the plumbing. One problem is I can't seem to get the pipe into the wall stubout more than half inch or so. Bigger problem is there's now a drip at the stubout. First, it was between the stubout and the slip joint (1 in pic). I stop that with teflon tape on the stubout, but now it leaks where the slip joint meets the pipe (2 in pic). I tried 2 different gaskets (different designs) at the space, and I'm still getting a leak. Could this be related to not getting enough piping into the wall? Or do I just put some plumbers putty at 2, though that feels like I am just masking over a problem? I should also note that the slip joint there doesn't want to be tightened over a certain point. Even with just hand tightening, it goes to a certain depth and then the whole thing pops back out, like something is pushing it back. I love the company’s mission, product, and culture. There are multiple roles which I believe I’ll be a great fit. However, I don’t live in any of the states with a Duolingo office, and can’t move due to needing to be with my loved ones. I don’t mind regular travel at all and wish there’s a remote option with once or twice travel to the HQ (or other offices). While I understand that adds to the company’s cost, it also opens Duolingo to a wider pool of talent. Also, there are ways to preserve and foster the culture without having to go into the office daily. Just wondering if there’s any possibility in the future to work there…

Title as stated. I did well in all my other classes (midterm grade over 90), but for one of my classes I low key got a 55% on it and it was an open book test. I'm honestly dumbfounded because I studied for it as if it was a closed book test, and when I took the test I was actually pleasantly surprised it was an open book test, til I received my grade today.
Any tips of studying for open book exams?
