2024.11.25 22:30 ProfessorBungus Metal scraping noise when braking. Pads and rotors are still good.
I get a metal scraping sound when applying the brakes hard. I’ve taken my car to 3 different mechanics and they’ve all told me the pads and the rotors are fine and don’t need to be replaced. The sound comes and goes but only appears when I brake hard and I’ve had this issue for the past year. Any thoughts on what could be the culprit?

I found a great deal on a S2K, 220K miles. 2001, AP1.
The pros: Clean title no accidents (checked all vins) 2nd owner Shifts well and fast and no noticeable issues Soft top works and there are no rips No mods completely stock except for an intake. Wheels have 0 curb rash and perfect. Coil packs and spark plugs were done last year, before being left to park for 8 months Oil done every 6K miles according to owner.
The Cons: Original clutch Paint fade around most of the body Interior rug needs replacement. Seats needs replacement (not OEM seats)
Any tips and tricks and things I should look out for? I want to keep it stock for the most part and bring it back to its glory days. Do you think this is a good deal?

This is my lowest moment. I make decent money, but I've had a gambling addiction for the last 4 years. Every penny | get goes to gambling if you've never been in addiction I don't expect you to understand, but If it weren't for my kids I would have ended my life today.
