2024.11.25 22:30 portablefan Incorrect pricing on bill, autopay stopped working

Around 2 months ago, our internet randomly stopped working. I checked the Xfinity app and it said service was inactive. I talked to a chat agent, and they said "It seems due to an error the service got disconnected, but do not worry we will get this activated for you" (exact words)
They made a new service order, had me sign it, but I noticed it was higher than my previous bill. I mentioned the higher price, and they said, "This the previous plan which you had." (so nothing was changed or upgraded service-wise), asked if automatic payments were on (they are) so they said, "It seems the discount has not been applied yet, so it will be applied on your next bill."
Great! No issues so far. But then after checking, the upcoming charges were still higher. Talked to a different agent, said they would fix it, and told me 3 separate times what the (correct) amount I would be billed.
Fast forward to next bill, same thing, says it's fixed, but it's still higher than it should be. Talk to an agent, promises he'll have it fixed, no change.
Next agent *argues with me that it should be higher* but finally relents and says he'll have billing apply a separate discount to get it to the right amount. Says I should be getting an email in the next few days verifying my new bill. No email (this was weeks ago), bill hasn't changed.
Furthermore, the service change seems to have broken something with autopay. It says the payment goes through, then a few days later it says the payment was returned and hits me with a fee. This has happened twice and now service has been suspended. The bank has no record of the last 2 payment attempts (this has been on autopay for over a year with no issues until now), all other autopays are working fine with no issues, so this is very likely an issue on Comcast's end, as I've seen posts of others having the same issue.
Any help here would be appreciated.

I [26M] have been talking to and seeing this woman [24F] for two weeks-ish. We're both christians. We're both liberals. We both have a twisted humor. We both have the same love language. We both play games. We both value personal time, vulnerability, and have struggled with similar issues such as struggles with our father, and issues with having and setting boundaries.
So you'll read this and be like: "Okay, so what's the problem?"
Her teeth, man. I feel like such a shallow prick. It's not that she has braces, or she's missing a tooth, or has crooked teeth. Those things wouldn't bother me. Her very front tooth is literally rotting and brown, man. Of course, I didn't know this until our first date. I've been trying to just forget about it, and be understanding. We went on a second date, and I just can't help but look at it. I want to believe it doesn't bother me, but it does. It bothers me. I also don't feel like I even have a right to say that it bothers me, because I have also had poor dental hygiene, genetics, and issues with my teeth. My front four teeth are crowned, so they look very beautiful, and I am a lot better about dental hygiene, now.
Obviously, I can't just outright talk about her teeth. I'm sitting here thinking, like, I'm going to be kissing her. I'm going to be seeing her smile daily. I'm going to be in pictures, and my friends are going to meet her. And her rotten brown tooth is going to be front and center. So now I feel caught, because WOW, this woman is like... a definite match for me otherwise. Why is it so hard for me to look past it? Ugh. I really don't know what to do. I don't want to call it off, but part of me does. I wish I could just accept this and look past it, and hope that she gets it fixed, some day.
I just feel like calling it off is going to be something I regret, because of how similar of people we really are. You don't come across people like this, every day. Does anyone have any advice? I'm really just caught, here.

I have a 2002 ford f150 super crew. Was looking at buying a magnum low profile headache rack. Came across a used one that is currently on a 2015 ford f150 in great condition and would save me couple hundred. However, Magnum website says they have headache racks for 2000-2014 and 2014-present f150’s.
So makes me wonder what changed on the trucks for the headache rack not to be able to transfer over?

I constantly have this problem. Me(30M) and gf(31F) are together for 3 months. We had several short trips and things are going well. Except that I realize I have less and less time for self improvement. I usually spend the weekend working on my side hustles and study topics I’m interested in when I was single. Now it seems that gf is a constant distraction. My deepest fear is not to improve and grow to be the person I envisioned all along. Being in a relationship is just time consuming and makes me wonder what I should do.
I know probably I’m the one to blame as most successful men we’ve heard about have a wife and likely a happy family. How do they manage their work, their mission and keep the balance between it and family duties? Is this just a poor man’s problem?

2024.11.25 22:30 Macaroon_Low First turkey, no oven. Help!

The oven broke recently, so I've had to make due with the toaster oven/air fryer combo for anything cooking related. It's worked out well enough for everything that isn't a cake (the doors won't shut all the way, so it vents the heat in ways that make baking something heat sensitive difficult if not impossible). This year, my work gave me a whole turkey for Thanksgiving, and I have no idea how to cook it. I work Thanksgiving as well, so I was thinking of using the crock pot I have and just setting it to cook before I leave in the morning. Any advice would be helpful here. Thank you!

Look, I know the world and even this town has bigger fish to fry, and you all can come at me and say this isn't an ETX thing, I should mind my own business, whatever. But having grown up here, lived in several other states, and recently moved back, I can say pretty confidently: this town has an issue.
I live in the Azalea district, and have called animal control more times in the last 2 months than ever in my life combined. 8 years in Los Angeles included. I've seen the sweetest, friendliest dogs wandering around, all filthy and most injured / sick. Two separate occasions, dogs have simply left their 'homes' and followed my husband home on his walk after he showed them some love. We tried to care for them, but we have dogs of our own and they ended up getting out of our yard and running away.
This morning I found a very small, very old, mostly deaf dog just running around on a busy street. Clearly owned by someone but no collar, and no one out looking for him. Because I had my dogs with me, he wouldn't let me get close. He seemed to run to his 'home' but then kept running when I passed by again on my route.
I understand that dogs like to roam, and I would much rather see that than them chained up or confined, but the fact is these animals aren't well. And it's getting colder at night. Sure, let your dog have the time of their lives getting into whatever they want, I know my dogs would be jazzed if they could just go on adventures all day. But please at least take care of them when they are home. Please give them the medication they need to stay well and not suffer and / or die from totally preventable causes. Or give them to someone who will.
This is more of a rant than anything I suppose, but please use this post to share any resources for pet care on a budget, shelters, or other services that are working to help these little guys. If you DO have a pet you can't afford to care for, please know there are programs and services out there to help you.
