Not to be cliche - I've been hearing about how bad the job market is lately but WOW was I naive. I was interviewing for a customer success manager role at a merchandising SAAS company for the last few months. 5 interviews total - which isn't bad. The last interview was a case study presentation with a group panel interview. Case studies and presentations don't scare me, but this project was no joke. The case study they presented was 9 pages long with a very long list of requirements they wanted to see in my presentation. They also shared case study resources for me to take into account that totaled over 30 pages to review. Even with ChatGPT, it took me literally 40 hours (a whole business week) to get this presentation together. Maybe I should have known better, but I really wanted this job (sounded really almost too good to be true) and I'm an overachiever so I really wanted to make sure I hit on all of their requirements they were looking to see in my presentation. I'm also unemployed currently, so I took the chance and went all in on this project. I can't imagine having a full time job and getting this project done.
In any case, the presentation happened and it went very well. The interviewers asked me many questions and I even taught them new ideas/concepts to use in their business. The hiring manager and the team at the end of the interview told me that I gave a great presentation and thanked me for my efforts and valuable insights during our conversation. The following week, the recruiter emailed me telling me that it sounds like the presentation went really well and that they'd like to contact 3 of my references. So of course I thought I almost had it in the bag. The company told me that they'd let me know within a week of collecting references, but nada. The company even made a huge deal about making sure they get responses back from every single reference before they made a decision. And I know for a fact that all my references gave me great reviews. My references gave me a heads up on what was discussed and gave reviews so positive and were more than I could have hoped for! My previous boss even told me to tell her when I signed this job offer! Another week passes by and I check in and the recruiter emailed back me with the classic rejection spiel - "Thanks for all your efforts...It was a tough decision, but we decided to move forward with other candidates for the role...We'd absolutely love to keep connected with you for future opportunities that could be a better fit!"
Maybe it's just me but this was a complete slap to the face. No chance in hell I'd ever want to join this company in the future after this interview process.
Anyways - sorry for the rant. Corporate America doesn't give a fuck about you, but hang in there y'all. It's brutal and relentless out there, but I'm optimistic that hopefully it'll get better in 2025?

I'm super new the D1. I have watched a decent amount of videos to familiarize myself but I haven't found the answer yet..
I ran my first test engraving just now, it worked great and all that. Very exciting... This is all in XCS right now.
Went to run another test, realized the crosshairs are not on. I checked the device settings to make sure the laser dot wasn't on instead. It's not.
How do I get them back on? It still appears to be framing correctly but I would rather have them on, especially as a novice.
