My name is Charlie. I have an announcement. I'm starting a mini-show.
I just returned from my local Target. Not that it matters, but it's one of those mini-Targets.
Knowing that Bubba will never give me a shot at radio/podcast stardom, I wanted to prove to myself that I have that "it" factor to be successful in radio. So what did I do inside of my mini-Target? I nervously picked up the intercom mic. thing, took a deep breath, exhaled, and then stated: "Attention, shoppers. Bubba the Love Sponge is a cuckold." I'm not sure if any of you have ever been absolutely and completely flooded with exhilaration, but for me, it was the rush of a lifetime. This was my first time doing something close to real radio. I was nervous, but I did it. I proved to myself that I have that "it" thing inside of me. It's been a little over 4 hours since I got home, yet, I'm still flying high from that radio-type experience. I'm so happy and proud of myself.
I then proceeded to shop. Here's the kicker. Along the way, I counted 48 people in my mini-Target. Forty-eight people heard my announcement. So amazing. I then started thinking. Bubba averages maybe 26 listeners per show. During my first-ever morning show at my min-Target, I had 22 more listeners than someone who has been in the radio industry for 30-plus years.
What's my point? It would be a step down for me to go on his low rated, low listeners show. I will not step down to that hack.
