Currently looking to get into SysAdmin work, which I have been told is basically what I am already doing now (just at a severely underpaid position). Hello, my (53F) mother & I (23F) have a bit of a strained relationship. To add backstory, around July it was found that my mother had been having an affair with a 74 year old man. This had been ongoing for about 3 months & my dad (50M) found out via miscommunication on her location. She had been making frequent calls to this man, going to his house when she said she was going to my grandmothers, dressing different, etc. Lying to all of us. My parents were married for 26 years & had fights frequently, however this was completely a shock to him & myself. I was just finished with nursing school at this time but still living with my parents & had just closed on a house with my partner (24M). She immediately dropped contact to avoid guilt & moved in with him, yet would text me occasionally as if it never happened. Usually just asking about work or a sale at the grocery store, never anything aside from surface-level communication. During this, I was in the process of moving out and in a time where I could’ve used emotional support from my mother. There was nothing. I had to help my dad through this horrible time, where he had no will to continue going.
I feel guilty still communicating with her even just occasionally. I have seen her in person one time since this all happened and even then it was awkward. We used to be so close & talked to each other about everything. My mother was a safe spot in my life that has been gone in a time I needed her the most. As the divorce is in process, my dad is healing through therapy and his support system & I am so proud. Part of me wants a relationship with my mother, I will be going through life changes in the next few years & I always thought she would be there for that. But I know how much hurt she has caused to myself & my father that it makes me want to cut all communication. If anyone has advice or a similar situation please let me know. Again, I am just trying to do what is best for myself & others around me so please keep that in mind.

2024.11.26 00:49 Additional-Bus7575 Chicken found with broken neck- no other injuries
This is a new one on me- I've had one die via broken neck in the coop once- but it was a youngster and I assume it just fell wrong- but this one was just laid in the woods, she was in full rigor so it actually took me awhile to figure out her neck was broken (broken at the base of the neck where it joins the body)- otherwise she doesn't have a mark on her- so I assume it wasn't a predator (also would have expected it to take her somewhere vs just in their normal hangout spot).
The only thing I can figure is she either got tangled up in vines and broke her neck trying to free herself, or she must have run into a tree? Or fallen off a branch?
Very very weird. RIP to Agnes.
